This challenge will run from January 1st, 2014 until December 31st, 2014.
You can join anytime. You do not have to review the book.
You do not need to link up each spoonful.
Make a page or a post or a GoodReads shelf where you will keep track of your spoonfuls.
Crossovers to other challenges are allowed and encouraged!
It’s an alphabet challenge!!! The challenge is to read one book that has a title starting with every letter of the alphabet.
You can drop the A’s and The’s from the book titles as shown below.
So there are two different ways you can set up your own A-Z Reading Challenge.
A – How others plan to do it: Make a list on your blog from A-Z. Throughout the year, as you go along, add the books you are reading to the list. Towards the end of the year, you can check and see which letters you are missing and find books to fit.
OR
B – Others Make a list now of 26 books, picking one for each letter of the alphabet. For example: A – Assaulted Pretzel by Laura Bradford B- Buried in a Bog by Sheila Connolly C – Cat Trick by Sofie Kelly D – A Deal to Die For by Josie Belle etc.

Rebecca's Christmas Gift (Hannah's Daughters #7) by Emma Miller
Description
Housekeeper For The Holidays
During the Christmas season, Rebecca Yoder agrees to help new preacher Caleb Wittner with his mischievous daughter. Amelia's turned the community of Seven Poplars upside down. Only Rebecca can see the pain hidden beneath the little girl's antics—and her father's brusque manner. After losing his wife in a fire, Caleb's physical scars may be healing, but his emotions have not. Yet Rebecca's sweet manner soon has him smiling and laughing with his daughter—and his pretty housekeeper. Soon Caleb must decide whether to invite Rebecca into his life—or lose her forever.
Hannah's Daughters: Seeking love, family and faith in Amish country
My Review:Rebecca's Christmas Gift (Hannah's Daughters #7) by Emma Miller
4 STARS
This is the 3rd book of Hannah's Daughter that I have read. I enjoyed reading it. It is a sweet story of a Father raising his daughter by himself after his wife dies. Caleb not only just moved to a different state, but also became chosen as a preacher in his Amish Church.
The characters are enjoyable and I got caught up in their lives. I wanted things to workout with Rebecca.
Amelia is a cute little girl who sometimes is quiet a handful. I like how the community is helpful and caring. Not perfect but trying. This is a character and relationship driven story.
The setting is Seven Poplars, Kent County, Delaware in Autumn in a Amish community.
A very entertaining and uplifting clean story.
I would love to have read the whole series of Hannah's Daughters. I will be on the lookout for more stories by Emma Miller.
I was given this ebook to read and asked in return to give honest review of it by Netgalley and Harlequin.

An Unlikely Witch (Witch Central Series: Book 2) by Debora Geary
A toddler and a snowman.
Everyone in Witch Central knows about Jamie Sullivan's precog vision. The one he saw when he first laid eyes on the woman who would one day be his wife.
Now Nat and Jamie have it all. A fiery, adorable daughter, the kind of marriage that lasts to forever and beyond, and deep roots in the love, antics, and magic of Witch Central's leading family.
My Review :An Unlikely Witch (Witch Central Series: Book 2) by Debora Geary
5 STARS
This book had me spellbound. Look forward to reading it, hated to put it down to talk on phone, hated it when it was over. I wanted to keep reading about the characters. They are my friends.
The plot was full of emotions dealing with fertility problems, dreams having to let go and find new dreams, hidden dreams. The triplets had an idea to assign everybody a name and they need to make a special dream come true for that person. Which they did a great job with a lot of thought of what that person needed.
I wanted to go swimming in the ocean in Dec. with everybody and have so much fun as they were having. They truly are a big family inviting everyone one to be part of it. When one person has a problem they all want to help each other. The love and caring are wonderful between everyone.
The setting mostly is Berkley, California in Dec.
The pacing of the story was riveting. I did not want to put it down even when I had finished it. June will be along time for the next book in the series. Debora has spoiled us with books sooner than six months.
This is a wonderful series of books. Clean reads with lots of interesting characters and talents. Some even magical. A community that makes you want to be a part of. Lots of drama, love and family.
I was given this ebook to read and asked in return to give honest review of it. I would have bought this book and the next even if I stop receiving free copies I love this series and reread the stories again and again.

The Tenth Circle (Blaine McCracken #11) by Jon Land
Description
Blaine McCracken races to stop terrorists from unleashing an ancient weapon of unimaginable power at the president’s State of the Union speech
1590: An entire colony of British settlers vanishes from their settlement on Roanoke Island, seemingly into thin air.
1872: The freighter Mary Celeste is found drifting at sea off Gibraltar, its entire crew and passengers gone missing without a trace.
What if there’s a connection between two of the greatest historical mysteries ever?
That’s the question facing Blaine McCracken in the wake of pulling off the impossible in Iran. McCracken has rid the world of one terrible threat only to return home to face another in the form of Reverend Jeremiah Rule, whose hateful rhetoric has inflamed half the world, resulting in a series of devastating terrorist attacks. But Rule isn’t acting alone. A shadowy cabal is pulling his strings, unaware that they are creating a monster who will soon spin free of their control.
Finding himself a wanted man, McCracken must draw on skills and allies both old and new to get to the heart of a plot aimed at unleashing no less than the tenth circle of hell. A desperate chase across country and continent takes him into the past, where the answers he needs are hidden with the missing Roanoke colonists and among the contents of the Mary Celeste’s cargo holds. As the clock ticks down to an unthinkable maelstrom, McCracken and his trusty sidekick, Johnny Wareagle, must save the United States from a war the country didn’t know it was fighting, but that it might well lose.
About the Author
Jon Land has written twenty-nine novels. His first series titles were the Blaine McCracken Novels, and he is also the author of the Ben and Danielle series and the Jared Kimber lain series. The first three books in his Caitlin Strong series—Strong Enough to Die (2009), Strong Justice (2010), and Strong at the Break (2011)—have all garnered critical praise with Strong Justice being named a Top Thriller of the Year by Library Journal and runner-up for Best Novel of the Year by the New England Book Festival. Pandora’s Temple, a 2012 McCracken novel, won the International Book Award for Best Thriller/Adventure, and was nominated for a 2013 Thriller Award for Best E-Book Original Novel. Land lives in Providence.
My Review :The Tenth Circle (Blaine McCracken #11) by Jon Land
4 STARS
This is my first Jon Land book but not my last. I enjoyed it and did not want to stop once I got into the story. Their is a lot of violence. But they are trying to stop terrorists.
The Plot I thought it was pretty good how they took two different mysteries in history and tied them together to make a weapon that could bring down the U.S. Government and make it very believable and real. It was action, drama, thriller all in one.
The rest home scenes had me laughing and cheering. I wanted to share those scenes with somebody.
The characters are well written and developed. It is the 11 book in the series so I expected that. Though I did not realize before I read it that fact. I liked Blaine McCracken. I was not sure who the bad and good guys were. I really liked one of the twists at the end of it.
I want to go and read the other 10 books in the series and find out more about McCracken and his friends.
The setting for the book was all over the United States and the world. Time was 1590 to the modern year. It tied the different times and incidents together really well.
The pacing of the story was good. It revealed the truth a little bit at a time and you did not want to put the book down till you found out all its secrets.
If you want a action packed book this makes a great read.
I was given this book to review and asked to give honest review of it in return.

Tale Spins by Michael Mullin Blog Tour
Tale Spins
A trilogy of alternative fairytales and retellings. Discover the real Snow White story through the eyes of Creepy, the unknown 8th dwarf! Meet a teen princess who hires “The Frog Prince” witch to get revenge on a Mean Girl at school! And learn how the giant, boy thief and magic beans tale truly went down!
Praise for Tale Spins
Not usually enamoured of either re-telling or poetry I was totally taken aback by just how much I relished this trilogy of alternative fairytales and re-telling aimed at the Young Adult market. ~Tracy (Goodreads)
Tale Spins was like walking into a vintage store and finding a true treasure. This book takes the fairytales we all grew up on and gives them an interesting and modernized version that I enjoyed. ~Rose (Goodreads)
Author Michael Mullin
Michael Mullin is a native New Englander living in Pasadena. He is the author of Tale Spins, a trilogy of alternative fairy tales and retellings for YA readers. Tale Spins stories (in the 1-book collection) are “8: The Previously Untold Story of the Previously Unknown 8th Dwarf”; “The Plight and Plot of Princess Penny”; and “Jack’d”. Michael is also the co-author of the successful “Larry Gets Lost” children’s book series. His screenplay “Zooing Time” was recognized by the WGA’s Written By magazine. Before all this writing, he taught preschool and college, two positions he found disconcertingly similar.
My Review: Tale Spins
4 STARS
This is three short tales of familiar or should be familiar retelling of Fairy tales. It is such a breath of fresh air to the stories. They are told in a poetry form that gets the message told in a singing style.
The first tale is from the point of view of the 8th Dwarf. He has a different point of view. It is not what I expect. It is so much better with his view.
The second is the Plight and Plot of Princess Penny. I did not guess what tale this was from. Even Princess's can get bullied in school. It has some good lessons in it.
Jack'd was really a different story.
I enjoyed reading these three short stories. It is only 77 pages long. They can be read by any age and enjoyed.
Good clean fun.
I was given this ebook to read for purpose of reviewing and being part of Tale Spins blog tour.

Book Description
Publication Date:October 1, 2013
Come explore Regency London with Carla Kelly! This collection features four stories that will warm your heart with Christmas cheer:
The Christmas Ornament: When the father of his now-deceased best friend hints that he should consider his daughter as a potential wife, Lord James Crandall isn't sure he can get past the fact that he used to tease her mercilessly when she was just a girl. But once he finds out how brilliant her mind is, he’s not sure he can get past the fact that she’s a woman. Add in the fact that her charms have garnered the attentions of other gentlemen, Lord Crandall is in for quite the roller coaster Christmas.
Make a Joyful Noise: Widower Marquis Peter Chard is grateful for his two children, but not so grateful when his mother gives him the chore of recruiting people for the parish Christmas choir competition. When recently widowed and pregnant Rosie Wheatherby turns up with the voice of an angel and the looks to match, Lord Chard isn't about to let her get away from the choir . . . or his family.
An Object of Charity: Stuck on land while his ship is being repaired, Captain Michael Lynch is approached by his late first mate’s niece and nephew. Learning they are destitute, he decides to take them home with him for the holidays, returning for the first time in 22 years ago. As he spends more time with them and unburdens his heart to the young woman, she replaces his hurt with love in time for a very special Christmas.
The Three Kings: After her brother is shot by the French in Spain, Lady Sarah Comstock is forced to travel across the war-torn countryside with a Spanish Colonel. As Christmas quickly approaches, Sarah learns about the Three Kings giving gifts to the Christ child and finds a gift of her own that she can share—her heart.

A teenager turns up dead in the woods just a few days before Christmas, brutally murdered....Short-handed, the homicide team can't seem to get a handle on the case....Sometimes the only thing for a good friend to do at a time like this is step in and rescue the hero in time for the holiday.

My Review: Miz Scarlet and the Holiday Houseguests
4 STARS
I have enjoyed all three Miz Scarlet books I have read. Lots of things happen around Miz Scarlet.
There is a lot of mystery, action, romance, witty banter, humor and fun characters abound. Also is a clean read.
A few of the characters have nicknames from their youth taken from the game clue which adds to the fun light side of them. Miz Scarlet and her brother still argue and bigger like they did growing up.
Miz Scarlet runs a different motel or bed & breakfast. A lot of her guests come while they are sick or have no where else to stay.
It is Christmas time and Larry asks for a favor that asks if her father can stay their for Christmas. Both of her parents want to come and they are divorced and fight a lot. Soon the inn is full with good and bad guys.
This is a short 111 pages novella that you can buy alone or part of Killer Christmas by Sara M. Barton that has two other good mysteries in it. Plus it will be FREE ON AMAZON 12/19, 12/20.
I actually got both for free on different places.

Rosemary and Crime (Piper Prescott mystery) by Gail Oust
Description
Murder comes well-seasoned in this charming mystery featuring a smart and spunky new amateur sleuth, small-town Georgia spice shop owner Piper Prescott
Piper Prescott, a transplanted Yankee living in the South, has got her sass back. She might be down, but don’t count her out. “Change of life?” she asks. Bring it on. Recently divorced, Piper decides to pursue a dream she’s secretly harbored: owning her own business, Spice it Up!, a spice shop in her adopted hometown, Brandywine Creek, Georgia. But Piper’s grand opening goes awry when the local chef who’s agreed to do a cooking demo is found stabbed. Not only did Piper find the body, she handled the murder weapon and doesn’t have a witness to her alibi, making the case look like a slam dunk to brand new police Chief Wyatt McBride. Desperate to uncover the truth—and prove her innocence—Piper enlists the help of her outspoken BFF Reba Mae Johnson to help track down the real culprit. The pair compile a lengthy list of suspects and work to eliminate them using their own creative brand of sleuthing techniques including stakeouts, breaking and entering, and one very unorthodox chocolate pie. When Piper narrowly avoids being a victim of a hit-and-run, she knows she’s getting closer to the truth, but can she catch the killer and clear her name before she becomes the next victim?
A captivating start to a new series featuring an unstoppably fabulous new crime-solving heroine, a colorful cast of small town characters, and more than a pinch of Georgia charm, Rosemary and Crime is sure to delight fans of Donna Andrews and Jessica Beck.
My Review: Rosemary and Crime by Gail Oust
4 STARS
I like Piper Prescott. She is starting a business after her divorce. She is feisty. A good mom. Her best friend is Reba Mae Johnson. She is a character you want things to workout for her and you want to see what happens next in her life.
The plot is the day of her Spice it Up grand opening. She goes to the restraint where the chef works who is going to be doing a cooking demonstration and make sure everything is going as planned. She finds the door open and the chef is dead on the floor. Outside the restraint she finds a knife and picks it up and drops it by the body.
The new sheriff in town thinks she is the main suspect. Especially when her alibi turns up missing. Chief Wyatt McBride does not get along with Piper's ex-husband.
Piper and Reba are looking into who might have a motive to kill the chef. They try different stakeouts to find what people are doing but end up being caught by McBride.
Their is lots of humor, characters that I like, lot of suspects, motives and a small town feel to the story. There is suspense to the story you don't know till the end who the murder is and why.
The setting is modern day small southern city.
The pace of the story was good. It keeps your attention with every day life plus trying to figure out who the real killer is.
I would read another story about Piper Prescott in the future.

My Review:His Ideal Match by Arlene James (Chatam House, #7)
4 Stars
This is the first of the Chatam House series of books that I have read. I would love to some day go back and read the ones I have missed. I enjoyed reading this story. It had a bunch of fun characters, good plot, sweet kids and one not as sweet. Loving family, people that reach out and help because they care and can. Also had positive message, romance and was a clean read.
Carissa Hopper has had a rough few years. She is doing the best she can for her three kids after there father died. She has moved into her father's apartment after she lost her home and business. Her father is dying.
Carissa's Aunt and Uncle are willing to help her out. They work and live at Chatam House. Three triplet sisters live their and want to help Carissa and her kids too. In fact they offer to let them move into the house in a three bedroom suite.
Phillip Chatam is living with his three Aunts right now. He is in between jobs. He feels like he can't work at his old job climbing mountain guiding tourists after he lost two friends doing the same job. He has not yet found a job he wants to do next.
Carissa would think life is perfect except for her attraction for Phillip. She does not feel that anyone would ever marry her and be a father to her three children.
Phillip is attracted to Carissa but he never wanted to be a father but he wants to help her and realizes that he has taken life easy.
Both Carissa and Phillip go to grief counseling support group and it helps them. They also start going back to church and reading scriptures.
I like reading Arlene James and will read more of her books in the future.

Dead by Wednesday by Beverly Long
Description
As the minutes tick by, the body count rises in Beverly Long's Dead by Wednesday
With no leads, no witnesses and four teenage victims, it's a race against the clock for Detective Robert Hanson to catch a vicious serial killer. But he gets thrown slightly off course when Carmen Jiminez asks for his help. Fiercely independent, the pretty pregnancy counselor is the only woman who has ever tempted Robert to give up his freewheeling bachelor life. Yet protecting Carmen from mysterious "accidents" and vengeful clients is just as difficult as winning her trust. And the only way he can keep her and her brother safe is to conceal a wrenching secret—one an obsessed killer can't wait to use. Now Robert's newfound family is right in harm's way, and time is almost up….
My Review:Dead by Wednesday by Beverly Long
4 stars
Dead by Wednesday was pretty suspenseful. It was easy to figure out who the bad guy was but we did not know who he was or why he was killing teenage boys. Still it was a suspenseful.
I liked the characters. Especially Carmen. She has raised her brother since he was young. Her job was to help teenage girls. She was a believable.
Now Robert's case I wonder at how fast he changed his ways, falling hard and fast for her. Robert is a cop who is attracted to Carmen for months. Especially when they danced at their friend's wedding. She did not want to dance again with him.
Raoul is Carmen's teenage brother. Raoul was being bullied by older bigger boys. Who thought they were tough. Really two bigger boys ganging up on younger smaller boy is not very brave. It happens too often in real life.
The plot main path is a serial killer has killed 4 teenage boys on Wednesday for the past four weeks. They don't seem to have anything in common. They don't want a 5th dead teenager. So the police are working hard on figuring out the killer. So it is a race of the clock.
The pace of the storyline is pretty fast. You don't want to stop reading it.
Their is lots of drama, police work, some action and one love scene that I admit skipping over.

Blue Lines by Toni Aleo (Assassins #4)
Description
Opposites do more than just attract in Toni Aleo’s latest Nashville Assassins novel about a very bad boy and the good girl he can’t resist.
The instant Piper Allen sees Erik Titov, she wants him—wants his rock-hard body, sure, but the strength and mystery that lie behind that superstar hockey jock demeanor, too. So when he sidles up to her at a bar and slinks his arm around her waist, she’s lost. What follows is the wildest night of her life . . . followed by inevitable heartbreak the next morning. And then, a few weeks later, a very big surprise: two blue lines on a pregnancy test.
Only a check to the head could make Erik fall for a nice girl like Piper. But since their crazy-sexy night together, he’s been trying to forget about her alluring body by falling into bed with every woman in Nashville, and it’s not working. So when Piper shows up at his house with a baby-bomb to drop, it doesn’t take much for Erik to suggest the nuclear option: marriage. While it’s supposed to be all for show, the second they say “I do,” the ice between them starts to melt into sizzling steam.
My Review: Blue Lines

I liked the storyline. I like the characters. at first I did not like Erik but the more I learned about him the more I liked him. I also liked seeing the characters from other novels in the Assassins series back to see what they have been doing. The pace of the story moved right along.
The things I don't like about the story is all the sex scenes and swearing.
The plotline we do see is a one night stand that leads to unplanned pregnancy. Erik never plans on having a father and all of a sudden he finds out that in three months he will be one. He also gets in trouble with the Assassins team because of all his catting around. So he talks Piper into a temporary marriage to save his job and family. Piper is also his sister-in-law.
Piper is a talented artist. She changes careers often. She has loved Erik for a long time. She believes in him even when he doesn't. She hides her pregnancy from everyone for a long time. Erik never answered her phone calls.
Erik is a good hockey player but he cats around a lot especially after sleeping with Piper the one time. In fact he is on a lot of magazines with different women and all over the place. 5 different ladies say he is their baby's father.
The Assassins are a professional hockey team. They are close together with each other. The owner Elli is also one of Piper's good friends. Elli's husband Shea is team captain. Erik's brother is on the team too. Piper's best friend is marrying a Assassin too.
I skipped over the love scenes but it is hard to skip over all the swearing.
I am undecided on wanting to read the next book. I really like the series except for a few parts.

Happy New Year, Baby Fortune! by Leanne Banks
Description
Lullabies…and cowboys? USA TODAY bestselling author Leanne Banks kicks off the new Fortunes of Texas continuity with a story of a single mom and the sexy rancher who sweeps her off her feet!
As she rings in the new year in Horseback Hollow, Texas, single mom Stacey Fortune Jones tries to count her blessings. She has an adorable baby girl, Piper; supportive parents; good friends. Best of them all is Colton Foster, her longtime neighbor from the ranch next door. He always seems to be around when she needs him. Trouble is, she may be starting to need him a bit too much….
She's off-limits, Colton keeps telling himself. The tall, muscular rancher turns to mush every time he sees Stacey. But falling for his little sister's best friend seems wrong on so many levels. She's on the rebound. She's got a baby. She's…complicated. What's a big-hearted cowboy to do?
My Review: Happy New Year, Baby Fortune! by Leanne Banks
3 STARS
I have read some of the Fortune books but have missed the one where Jeanne Marie Fortune Jones was found and reunited with her brother and sister. This story is about Jeanne Marie's only daughter Stacey.
I liked the characters but would have like to know more about them. It not a deep book but a shorter book. I liked how Colton was scared of Piper. But even while scared he helped out with the baby when their was a need to. Colton grew fast liking Piper.
I admit to really liking the scene when Colton runs into his friend Joe and tells him what he thinks about leaving Stacey and not being their for her and his daughter.
Piper is a cute baby who steals the scenes she is in.
Their is a couple of steamy love scenes that I skipped over.
This book was mostly relationships and a sense of community. I would like to come back to Horseback Hollow, Texas and see how Stacey's brothers fare.
This is a small town romance and makes for a fast nice read.

The Bride Next Door (Texas Grooms #2) by Winnie Griggs
Love Thy Neighbor?
After years of wandering, Daisy Johnson hopes to settle in Turnabout, Texas, open a restaurant, perhaps find a husband. Of course, she'd envisioned a man who actually likes her. Not someone who offers a marriage of convenience to avoid scandal.
Turnabout is just a temporary stop for newspaper reporter Everett Fulton. Thanks to one pesky connecting door and a local gossip, he's suddenly married, but his dreams of leaving haven't changed. What Daisy wants—home, family, tenderness—he can't provide. Yet big-city plans are starting to pale beside small-town warmth….
My Review: The Bride Next Door
4 stars
Today I have read all three of the Texas Grooms books that are out. I enjoyed each one that I had to read all three today. Of course I read #3 A Family for Christmas first today. Then reread Handpicked Husband #1. Then finished up with The Bride Next Door #2.
I would suggest reading them in the right order is best but they all are good by themselves. I would start the next one but it is not out yet.
The Bride Next Door is sweet, tender and I laughed too. It is a clean read.
The plot is Daisy moves into Turnabout at night and moves into her building that has been closed up and is filthy. She is not afraid of hard work to make her dream come true. She is a positive person and so cheerful. She wants to open a restaurant and settle down with roots.
Everett owns the newspaper next door and lives about it. He wants to get back to the city and working for a big newspaper again. He is a very uptight man. Fussy about just looking and keeping clean.
Everett hires Daisy to cook for him and he will provide the food a little pay. That way he makes sure Daisy has food to eat to.
I really like Daisy's character and how happy positive person she is. Everett has some good qualities too. Another character we meet in this book is Abigail. I like her idea of starting a lending library. You want to have everything workout for these characters and see what happens next in their lives.
The Setting is Turnabout, Texas April 1895
I am waiting for the next book to come out. I will read it.

A Family for Christmas by Winnie Griggs (Texas Grooms #3)
Description
An Unexpected Gift
Eve Pickering knows what it's like to be judged for your past. So she's not about to leave the orphaned boy she's befriended alone in this unfamiliar Texas town. Since Chance Dawson's offer of shelter is the only way to look after Leo, Eve is determined they'll have a warm, welcoming home for the holidays.
Chance came from the big city to make it on his own despite a painful secret. But Eve's strength is giving him a confidence he never expected—and a new direction for his dream. With a little Christmas blessing, he'll dare to win her heart—and make their family one for a lifetime.
My Review: A Family for Christmas
4 Stars
This is book 3 in the series. I had forgotten that I had read the first in the series a year ago. I liked it. In this book is Chance's story. This book can stand alone but would be better if you read the books in order.
This is a charming good Christmas story. With lots of relationships and good will as people pull together to become a family.
Eve Pickering is on a train traveling to a new town to start a new job when she meets Leo a young stowaway. When Leo is kicked off the train in a small town she gets off to make sure he has a place to go.
Chance decides to offer Eve and Leo a place to stay while things get worked out. He also gets Dotty a retired school teacher to stay with them and be a chaperone.
The characters are friendly, warm hearted and you want to stay and find out what is going on in their lives. I really enjoyed meeting and reading about them. Leo is 10 and has been an orphan for two years and ran away from neighbor who was mean to him. He wants a real Christmas this year instead of locked up in a shed like last year.
It tugs on your heart strings. I enjoyed the visit and want to go back and read more about the Texas Grooms.

4 STARS
It's a comedy sketches with clean humor. Most of the episodes that I have watched I have laughed at. A few misses for me.
The one was a computer sketch that I could not read but that's more because I could not read it.
There is a lot of physical sketches. One such is a angel on shoulder and guy was climbing all the other shoulder to warn them of wrong doing. It was funny how climbing up all over the different guys to talk them out of a robbery. Then later there was a devil on shoulder to try and talk them into making wrong choices. Than the last sketch had the angel on the shoulder to Shawn a very tall basketball player. The angel had a long climb for that one.
There were some comedies that were musical. I specially like the marriage proposal acceptance song and dance I think it was a play off Chicago.
There was a blind date with Tom Riddle that was funny. Another sketch that had dobie fired.
It was a very entertaining dvd. I think it would be fun for all ages but mainly teenagers and young adults would really enjoy it.
I was given this dvd for purpose of reviewing and posting a honest review on blog tour.

Synopsis
In her new job as a private eye, former police sketch artist Rory McCain has a spirited partner: Old West marshal Zeke Drummond. He may be a ghost, but when these two combine their skills, they reap justice…
Trouble has sprouted at Harper Farms. Top secret info has been leaked to the competition, and now there’s serious sabotage cropping up. So the farm’s beleaguered owner, Gil Harper, has called on Rory to dig up some dirt. But what Rory discovers raises a new field of questions…
Someone shucked Harper’s accountant and left his body in the farm’s corn maze. While Gil is quick to hire Rory to solve now not one but two crimes, the sketching sleuth isn’t so sure why the farmer wants her to focus her attention on his own family.
Regardless, Rory and Zeke will need to put their hands to the plow and solve this case before someone else is planted six feet under
My Review: Sketcher in the Rye
4 STARS
Sketcher in the Rye is full of interesting characters. Rory McCain is the main character. She is now a detective out on her own. Al least for most of the people that's true. She has a former Marshall that helps her but he is dead.
Rory used to be a detective and police sketch artist. She inherited her late Uncle's house complete with a ghost.
Marshal Zeke Drummond was a marshal in the late 1800's in the wild west. Before Rory owned the house he was stuck just being a ghost their. Now he can leave but has to stay within a 100 yards of her. He helps Rory solve her cases. He can get a lot of information by going through walls or being invisible. He has old fashion ideas about courting.
Rory has a fun family, former police friends. Even starting to date someone new.
Rory has a new case to find out who is leaking information and trying to hurt Harper Farms. On her way back from first meeting her dog drags her into the corn maze and she finds a dead body.
The plot was good, has some good humor, The pacing was good. It kept you guessing to what and who was doing what till the end.
I liked how the story was more than solving the mystery. We learn about Rory's family and life. We also learn a little about Zeke's past. I like Rory's wacky neighbor. It made for a good story that I wanted to come back to see what the characters are going to do next.
Sketcher in the Rye is also a clean read except for pigpen!
I have not read any of the previous stories in this series and don't feel that I have not missed anything in this story. I would enjoy going back and reading them sometime.

From Sharon’s Webpage:
I started writing stories as soon as I learned how to put letters together to form words. From that day forward, writing has been a part of my life whether it was my first attempt at a novel in seventh grade or the little plays I wrote for my friends to perform for neighbors and family. After college, when I was busy teaching French and Spanish to high school students, I was also writing poetry — some of it in French.
After several years, I left teaching to be a full time mom, and when my two children started school, I went back to writing. To my delight I found that the muse was still there, still waiting patiently for me to come around. My first novel, Ghostfire, was published at that time. It went on to be condensed in Redbook magazine (the first paperback original the magazine had ever condensed.) Then came The God Children and The Portal. Redbook also published my first short story, which was subsequently sold to several foreign magazines. With two great kids, a golden retriever and a loving, supportive husband (whom I’d met at the beach when I was fourteen — but that’s a story for another day), I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be in my life. But fate had another plan for me, and it went by the name of “breast cancer.”
Looking back, I realize how fortunate I was that the cancer was discovered at such an early stage, but at the time it was all very overwhelming. Once I was back on my feet, I wanted to help other women who were newly diagnosed, worried and afraid. I became a Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society and went on to run the program for Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. A number of years later, with the help of my surgical oncologist and two other volunteers, I started Lean On Me, a nonprofit organization that provides peer support and information to breast cancer patients. When Lean On Me celebrated its tenth anniversary it no longer required as much of my time, and I once again found myself free to pursue my first love — writing.

Synopsis:
Meet Bert Shambles, a perpetually confused young man whose life continually mirrors his surname. He is stuck back in his suburban Long Island hometown, enduring a three-year suspended sentence for an act of chivalry gone terribly wrong. He works part-time at a church thrift shop and makes extra money by selling “dead stock”—vintage clothes that have never been worn—to a local boutique.
On a routine pick up for the thrift shop, Bert learns that the widow of a recently deceased pro golfer is offering a reward for the return of her dead husband’s favorite putter—and an even bigger reward for proof that her husband was murdered. Bert jumps at the chance, and soon finds himself being chased by a violent, van-driving maniac, romantically involved with a mobster’s daughter, and quite possibly being set up to take the fall by his probation officer and crazy ex-girlfriend. As the forces of good and evil close in around him, Bert must race to clear his name and discover the truth so he doesn’t wind up in prison…or worse.
Filled with twists, turns, and unforgettable characters, and propelled by a truly lovable hero and wicked sense of humor, Dead Stock heralds the arrival of a wonderful new mystery series.

My Review: Dead Stock by Tim Hall
4 STARS
Bert is a likable character who's life is a mess. He lives in a boarding room with no kitchen. He is on parole for three years. He is not happy to be back on Long Island for the next three years. He gets involved in one mess after another.
The mystery is pretty good and leaves you guessing about what all is going on. About who is chasing him and why.
Their is a lot of humor about what is going on in Bert's life. He gets banged up a lot falling out of windows, being chased
and trying to help the women he meets along the way.
The setting is Long Island, New York modern day.
The pace is pretty good. Every time something happens and evens out something else goes wrong in his life.
I wanted things to workout for Bert and his friends. I would read another book by Tim Hall in the future based on Dead Stock.
I was given this ebook to read for review purpose and to be part of Dead Stock's book tour.

Description Heartache Motel
Elvis has left the building, but he’s forever memorialized at the Heartache Motel. Filled with drag queens, Rock-a-Hula cocktails, and a vibrating velveteen bed, these three novellas tell the tales of three amateur sleuths who spend their holidays at the King’s beloved home.
DINERS KEEPERS, LOSERS WEEPERS by Terri L. Austin
A Rose Strickland Mystery Novella (follows DINER IMPOSSIBLE ** Also on NetGalley **)
When Rose and the gang head to Graceland right before Christmas, they get all shook up: the motel is a seedy dump and an Elvis impersonator turns up dead. Rose discovers missing jewels tie into the death and her suspicious mind flips into overdrive, questioning her fellow guests, the staff, and even a cute impersonator who keeps popping up. Will Rose be able to find the murderer and get home by Christmas day? It’s now or never.
QUICK SKETCH by Larissa Reinhart
A Cherry Tucker Mystery Novella (prequel to PORTRAIT OF A DEAD GUY)
Sassy Southern artist Cherry Tucker and her poker-loving boyfriend, Todd, pop into Memphis to help Todd’s cousin who’s been hustled out of his savings, right before Christmas. Staying at the shady Heartache Motel, Cherry can’t tell a shill from a mark and fears everyone is playing them for chumps. Cherry and Todd quickly find themselves in a dangerous sting that could send them to the slammer or mark them as pigeons from cons looking for an even bigger score.
DATELINE MEMPHIS by LynDee Walker
A Nichelle Clarke Headline in Heels Mystery Novella (follows BURIED LEADS)
Crime reporter Nichelle Clarke thinks she’s going home for Christmas. But a quick stop at Graceland proves news breaks in the strangest places. When the King's home gets locked down with Nichelle inside, she chases this headline into the national spotlight—and the thief's crosshairs. Christmas dreams of blue suede Manolos fade, and all Nichelle wants from Santa is to land the story before the thief cuts off her news feed for good.

My Review: Heartache Motel
4 stars
DINERS KEEPERS, LOSERS WEEPERS by Terri L. Austin 4 stars
This was a much lighter murder mystery than Diner Impossible was. The gang decide to go to Graceland for a fast vacation. Ma closes the diner. I liked it. Rose, Roxy, Ma, Axton and Joe all drive down in same car. Things don't go as planned right away. They end up at Heartache Motel full of Elvis impersonators and drag queens. They find a body and have to solve the case before they go home.
QUICK SKETCH by Larissa Reinhart 3 STARS
I liked the longer novels better. This is a prequel with Cherry and Todd on their way to Las Vegas stop over to visit Todd's cousin who lost job, money in a scam and they want to help him. I had to run errands in middle so I might have been confused because of that. I was not sure who the good and bad guys were till the end. Because I know what happens in the next two books it is hard to take Todd and Cherry as a couple serious.
DATELINE MEMPHIS by LynDee Walker 4 stars
In Dateline Memphis Nichelie is on her way home for Christmas and she stops into Graceland and she gets locked in because something was taken. So she texts her boss about it and it goes out on the web. She investigates and keeps updating her story.
I like Nichelie. She is smart and hardworking. This is the third book in the series. She really is the only character from the other books in this story. I would read more from LynDee Walker in the future.
I have enjoyed reading all three stories and look forward to reading more from the authors in the future. In each story I never knew were the story was going or who the guilty party was. So the suspense was good all the way through. I have read from these authors books in the past and hope to read more from them in the future.

Candlelight Christmas by Susan Wiggs (Lakeshore Chronicles #10)

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR SUSAN WIGGS INVITES YOU TO AN UNFORGETTABLE CHRISTMAS IN THE CATSKILLS
A single father who yearns to be a family man, Logan O'Donnell is determined to create the perfect Christmas for his son, Charlie. The entire O'Donnell clan arrives to spend the holidays in Avalon, a postcard-pretty town on the shores of Willow Lake, a place for the family to reconnect and rediscover the special gifts of the season.
One of the guests is a newcomer to Willow Lake—Darcy Fitzgerald. Sharp-witted, independent and intent on guarding her heart, she's the last person Logan can see himself falling for. And Darcy is convinced that a relationship is the last thing she needs this Christmas.
Yet between the snowy silence of the winter woods, and toasty moments by a crackling fire, their two lonely hearts collide. The magic of the season brings them each a gift neither ever expected—a love to last a lifetime.
My Review: Candlelight Christmas
4 stars
Candlelight Christmas has everything you want in a Christmas story. Family, friends, cute kids, caring about others, likeable characters who you care about and want to see things workout for everyone. People that try and make Christmas better for others.
Logan only has his son summer and holidays. He loves his son and tries to be there for him. He goes out of his way for his son's new best friend. Because he can and cares for him. I really admired Logan.
Darcy does not want to make holidays worse for her family, ex-husband and stepchildren so she spends holidays with her friends family. Darcy does not want anything do again with a single father and his kids. She and Logan feel really close fast.
Their are a lot of cute animals in this story that enrich it and make holidays better.
Plot Logan decides to make a lot of changes and risks in his life now. He sells his old business and house to but a ski lodge and opens his house for Christmas their instead of Florida like always. He agrees to take care of two kids while their mom has to be gone over Christmas. Even lets his sister and her friends and family come and enjoy Christmas together. Lots of charm and lots of love that make the holidays inviting.
Good clean story that draws you into their lives as they celebrate the holidays.
I was given this ebook for purpose of reviewing it. All opinions are mine.

My Review: Whips, Cuffs, and Little Brown Boxes - A Lilly M Mystery by Kathryn Long
4 stars
With the title I was a little afraid of this book, but no graphic scenes. Lots of bumbling humor along the way to solve the mystery.
Some of the slapstick was to my taste and others not so much.
The characters were a mixed bag, which is good. The main character is Lilly Millenovanovich. She is a writer. Were books don't earn her a lot respect. Her boyfriend is a cop. She comes with a big family. I like her she does remind me of Stephanie Plum with all the trouble she gets into. She wants to help find her missing Aunt Fran.
Mona is her sidekick and gets into trouble with her.
I am glad I don't have her neighbor living by me. He is not all their.
I liked the story but it was easy to get distracted. For some reason just did not hold my attention for long periods. I would like to see where these characters go to next.
I think the book description gives a lot of the suspense away. Still a fun book to read.

Review :Secondhand Stiff by Sue Ann Jaffarian (An Odelia Grey Mystery )
4 STARS
This is my first Odelia Grey Mystery but hopefully not my last. It kept me guessing till the end. Easy to read and follow. Does make me curious to read previous books but definitely not needed. The regular cast of characters are well developed. As a middle age heavyset woman it is fun to see one as a lead. Her husband is in a wheel chair but it does not stop him much at all.
The plot was laid out step by step as they found different clues and reasoned out what was going on. That at the end it all fit and made perfect sense. Odelia, her mom Grace, her mother-in-law Renee and her husband's cousin Ina were all at a auction of storage units. Ina invited them but one of the storage units when unlocked they found Ina's husband dead inside sitting in a chair.
Ina was arrested because she had in her purse a unregistered handgun and no permit. Ina is not talking to even her lawyer. Greg her cousin wants to help find the real killer and get his cousin out of jail.
Ina is a heavyset women who keeps having dead bodies turn up around her. She works for a lawyer and sometimes works from her home. Her mother came to visit for Thanksgiving and is staying longer. Her husband Greg has a shop. He does not like her finding dead bodies all the time. Ina is always curious and sticks her nose into solving the cases. This time Greg likes her to jump into the case.
The cops don't like her sticking her nose in them. One of the detectives on the case used to be partners with Odelia's friend. She warns her off when she sees her at the storage unit. But when Odelia calls the police with information she is taken serious but told again to stay out of their business. Unless they want her to do something for them.
Odelia has a smart mouth sometimes. She does not like to be told that she and her mom are alike in some ways. Grace finds that she wants to figure out what is going on too and even threatens Odelia if she leaves her home she will call a cab and follow her own leads too.
This is a very modern up to date mystery with ipads, storage wars, lunch trucks with fancier food. It has a real modern feel to it.
I would love to read more of Sue Ann Jaffarian novels in the future especially Odelia Grey Mystery.

Wild horses can't stop Odelia's mom from tagging along with Ina, who runs a consignment shop, to a storage auction. Everyone is shocked when Ina's husband is found inside a storage locker—dead.

Second Chance Christmas by Tanya Michaels

A Christmas To Remember…
Ski-lodge manager Elisabeth is the quiet Donnelly twin—sedate, mature, responsible. It wasn't like her to fall in love with ski patroller Justin Cade, famous for his killer smile, blue eyes and way with women. But it was just like him to dump her when things began to get serious.
Now he's suddenly back in her life, and the timing couldn't be worse. Elisabeth has plans to marry a successful businessman, and with Christmas around the corner, she wants to make the holidays special for her adopted young goddaughter. Falling for Justin all over again would definitely not be the sensible thing to do. But maybe, for once in her life, Elisabeth should follow her heart instead of her head.
My Review: Second Chance Christmas

Second Chance Christmas is tender, charming, sad, hot, cute kid, funny Christmas romance. At times it is predictable, Their are a few love scenes that I skipped over.
At first I did not like Justin but the more you learn about his past the more you felt bad about his past and how it shaped him. I wanted everything to workout for him.
Elisabeth has been hurt and is doing the best job for Kaylie. She has been a mom to her goddaughter after her mom died. She has just got engaged to Steven that she met over the computer.
I love the supporting characters in this book. I hope some of them get their story told to.
Reading this book made me thankful for my family and our Christmas traditions.
I enoyed reading Second Chance Christmas.

This story if full of drama, action, danger, prayer. Things seem to calm and then ratchet back into more danger. It is exciting book. Did not like putting it down.
I would have chosen a different title because it gives a little too much away and you figure out the suspense early on.
I enjoyed the characters. Katie decided to be a cop to help find out what happened to her sister so many years ago. She wants to be loved by her parents but feels she has to earn their love after letting her sister be kidnapped. Katie is not going to let anything stop her from looking for her sister.
Jordan has a lot of guilt over not finding a kidnapper soon enough to rescue a child. He only will work cold cases or adult cases. He is also keeping secrets from his parents. He is willing to work with Katie and cares about her pretty fast. He wants to keep her safe.
Katie was only a teenager when she left her seven year old sister alone in the front yard to help carry groceries into her neighbors house. She feels guilty over her sister Lucy. She has decided to get more help to look into her sister's disappearance.
Someone is determined to stop Katie and Jordan from finding what happened so long ago. They are not afraid to murder anyone to stop from the truth coming out.
I definitely will look for more books by Lynette Eason to read in the future.
I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it in exchange by NetGalley and Harlequin.

Cold Case, Hot Accomplice by Carla Cassidy
Description
BESTSELLING AUTHOR CARLA CASSIDY BRINGS IN THE MEN OF WOLF CREEK TO SEEK A MISSING WOMAN
Roxy Marcoli cares about three things—her restaurant, her sisters and her aunt Liz. When Liz disappears, she's forced to turn to shameless playboy cop Steve Kincaid. Every time the sexy detective turns on the charm, he gets Roxy's hackles up.
Despite his reputation, Steve is no ladies' man. His casual flirting hides the pain of an unbearable loss. As they search for clues, he discovers what lies beneath Roxy's prickly exterior and sharp tongue. His desire grows, and so does his fear. Because it's not just Aunt Liz the killer wants—but Roxy, too.

Cold Case, Hot Accomplice
I was left with some questions that I would like to bring up but it would give up too many secrets. The suspense was good. It keeps you guessing about where the missing are. Who took whom? Who was after Roxy? You don't know who to trust.
I like the characters. Roxy is the oldest of three girls. She feels she has to be the one to hold it together for her sisters. She is feisty. Knows what she wants and goes for her dream. She opened her own restraint the dollhouse. She never plans on getting married.
Three of her customers come in first thing three days of the week are detectives. Steve always flirts with her. When Liz her Aunt is a half hour late delivering her bake goods and doesn't answer her phone she sends her sister over their. Liz is not their but the bake goods are ready, her car is there, and her purse is there.
They tell her that till she is missing 24 hours they can't do anything. Steve does go over to see and look around.
Steve has his own missing case that he has not solved. He hates missing cases. He starts working the case and their are a lot of police working the case.
When someone comes after Roxy to they don't know if it is same one who took her Aunt Liz.
I can't wait for the next book to come out and answer my questions that I still have.
There are a couple of sex scenes in the book. Their is also some Amish characters in the story.
I was given this ebook to read and in return asked to give honest review by NetGalley and Harlequin.
