The Hermitage House Miracle by Malcolm Ater
5 STARS
I had to give it 5 stars because I got so emotional in a few places. Cried lots of tears, sad tears, joyful tears. So yes I got lost in the book and cared about the characters.
I liked the characters. The children who opened their hearts to the new orphans. The
Sisters who took care of the children and loved them and worried about them.
Jamie is brought to the orphange after his mothers death and when they could not find
any family for Jamie.
Jamie loved having his own room. He never had his own room or a bed so nice. Jamie is 12 year old boy. He was used to moving every six months to a year. He would write letters to his friends giving them his new address and he never got any letters back.
Antonio was a little younger than Jamie and had the room next to him. Antonio was
showing Jamie around. They promised they would be friends forever.
Starting that first night Jamie began dreaming of a little boy with freckles and green eyes and someone who was calling him son. Sometimes the dreams would have a little girl,a mother and a dog named Scout.
The sisters told Jamie that they were just dreams. They worried about his dreams.
Jamie had never had friends to play with after school, never went to parks, fishing or anything. With Antonio he fished, played with and came out of his shell.
Jamie still had dreams all the time and they seemed so real to him, but he did not tell anyone except Antonio about them any more.
I liked the story but could have done without the tears. I would read more from Malcolm.
Thier were some twists to the story that I did not expect, some that I did guess.
It was nice to hear about an orphanage that cared about the kids. Though it did have problems and I still wonder about them.
I was given this ebook to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley.
