Silent Warrior by Donna Kauffman

4 STARS
Silent Warrior is a Loveswept classic romance. It is also the second book of Dirty Dozen.
Thier is a love scene in the book that I skimmed over.
I have now read 4 ebooks of the Dirty Dozen. I enjoy them but the how the cases get wrapped up always seems to just end. Would have liked to see more of that case ending. It does work how they are done though. Some of the characters that have minor roles in one book have a bigger role in thier own stories.
John McShane is working for a goverment agency that they call the dirty dozen. He is on one case when he gets a photo in the mail and asks him for help. John flies out
to where the photo was taken to see what he can do.
Cali Ellis was in trouble and she was not sure what to do. 10 years ago she lost her husband and then lost the baby she was caring. John was able to pull her out of her depression. Her husband of six months wrote a computer program and he was worried about it and hid part of in a safety box in the islands. Thier was also a insurance that paid out and Callie found part of the program.
She turned it over to the goverment agency without looking at the top secret program. They did not believe her and all of her apartment was taken. Then she was shot at. So she started to follow the clues to see what her husband was doing. She knows John was into secret agent type work so asked him for help or point her in a direction.
What Cali did not know of was that John had fallen for her before she was married to his best friend. He wanted to protect her.
Cali only knew that she went to the US goverment and some how they are after her. She had no idea what program could still be worth something ten years later. That people are willing to kill for.
This was a very fast read I wish it was longer though. I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review from Netgalley.
