Always the Hero by Alison Roberts

3 STARS

This is pretty fast paced. It happens right after a earthquake the majority of it. This is a fiction story but there have been so many major earthquakes around the world it makes it so real. You get the rush and see how they have to go where they can do the most good. The tough choices they have to make. How important it is to have a plan in place. Thank you to all those who do this where ever you are.

In the middle of earthquake and trying to do first aid Abigail finds herself facing her Tom, old boyfriend and father of her five year old son that he even knows about.
Rush of drama and action as they are going in and out of buildings and seeing all the destruction Abby blurts out the truth about how old her son is. Tom figures out that he is a father as a another aftershock comes.
This is a shorter story only 124 pages. It is intense. Not a great time to try and explain why the secrets. It is a quick good story.
I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review in exchange by NetGalley and Harlequin.

Will discovering he's a father finally tame this daredevil?

It broke Abigail's heart to leave Tom Kendrick, but the delectable rescue paramedic was always chasing danger, always being the hero. It made Abby feel she came second in his life— she couldn't risk their baby feeling that way, too.

When an earthquake strikes Kaimotu, Tom is flown in to the rescue. Seeing Abby again is devastating— he'd thought he'd put the past to rest, but that pounding in his heart is not adrenaline… And to learn he is a father, too— amid all the turmoil —is galling… until he realizes he has this one chance to fight for his child and the woman he loves.
