With the big day just three weeks away, Sadie is busily adding the final touches to her wedding plans but the arrival of a mysterious letter from San Francisco changes everything. Sadie has faced off against murderers and criminals in recent years, yet the possibility of reconnecting with her sister is both overwhelming and frightening. Josi S. Kilpack hated to read until her mother handed her a copy of The Witch of Blackbird Pond when she was 13. From that day forward, she read everything she could get her hands on and accredits her writing “education” to the many novels she has “studied” since then. She began writing her first novel in 1998 and never stopped. Her novel, Sheep’s Clothing won the Whitney Award 2007 for Mystery/Suspense. Lemon Tart, the first book in the Sadie Hoffmiller Culinary Mystery series was a finalist in 2009. Josi currently lives in Willard Utah with her husband, children and super-cute cat.
My Review: fortune Cookie by Josi Kilpack

I liked this story. It has interesting characters that I care about and like. The mystery was good. I had no clue. The personal lines of the story touched me and made me think.
I really hate the recipe that comes between each chapter and throws me out of the story. It makes it hard to get lost in the story. Plus if you want to find them it makes it hard to search for them. I like them best at the end of a book personally.
This is book 11 of A Culinary Mystery but only the third one I have read. The next book is the last so I need to catch up and read the ones I have missed.
There is only 3 weeks before the wedding now. Sadie gets a letter telling her about the death of her sister and is asked to come help close up her apartment.
Sadie has not seen her sister for 15 years and they are not close at all. Their is a lot of mystery around her death and a fire a month later.
Pete and Sadie decide to go and help figure out what happened to her and meet her nephew. while their Pete and Sadie both end up going with deep emotions at the time. I even wondered if they were ready to get married.
I was given this book to read for purpose of giving a honest review of it.
