My review: Softly Falling by Carla Kelly
5 STARS
Softly Falling has drawn me right into the story. I cared for the characters and all the trouble they have seen. The word descriptions are so vivid it makes me want to look outside to see if it is snowing. I could not imagine that much snow for a winter except on the mountain tops. Glad we have snow plows.
Lily Branson comes from England to stay with her father on his ranch. She finds he had gambled it away. He works on another ranch as their bookkeeper. She offers to teach the children on the ranch.
Jack Sinclair is the ranch manager. He is also the won who won the neighboring ranch from Lily's father. Jack has two cows & one Herford bull on his ranch. He plans to build up slowly.
He keeps warning his boss that they should have sold most of the cows. That it will be a early hard winter. He is laughed at.
This is a book of trials that make the survivors stronger and closer than ever. Shows how working together is so important.
The setting is a ranch in Wyoming territory 1886.
Even though they are going through tough times, they have to live, learn, laughter & celebrations of holidays. They try to be positive and have a plan to make it.
Some of events towards the end you could guess what would happen next, but that was okay. I did not want the story to end yet.
This was dramatic, action packed, romance and just a plain good clean story.
I was given this ebook to read so I could give an honest review and be part of Softly Falling blog tour.
