Lots of mystery.  A couple of the mysteries carry over for the series. It does a good job making me want to find out just who is the killer. Where is Josie? and where is Ethan's mother buried.

This is one series that you will want to read in order so the mystery stays a mystery till revealed.

Ethan Colton comes from a big family.  His father is in jail because he was a serial killer and Ethan at seven testified against him when he found his mother's body.  Ethan does not plan to have kids because he does not want to pass down his genes.

Lizzie Conner was raised in foster care and one of her foster sister was Ethan's sister.Josie.  Lizzie shows up at his ranch six months pregnant and someone is stalking her. Lizzie has liked Ethan since she was very young and was glad to run into him six months ago.
