My Review: Colton Cowboy Protector by Beth Cornelison (The Coltons of Oklahoma #1)
4 STARS
This is the first book in the Colton's of Oklahoma a continuities. It introduced us to the Colton family. It set up a few mysteries. So that I want to read more and find out what is going next.
John Big J Colton is the patriarch of a large successful ranch.
Abra Colton is the matriarch she left most of the raising of her kids to nannies and housekeeper . Jack Colton is ranch manager divorced father too Seth
Greta Colton is planning her wedding. She is only girl and the youngest. She is a horse whisper.
Brett Colton works on the ranch. He wants to expand into horses.
Daniel Colton half brother horse trainer. Abra still does not accept him as part of the family.
Ryan Colton is a policeman.
Eric Colton is a trauma surgeon
Tracy McCain has come to the ranch she wants to meet Seth her only relative. She is a widow. She has someone after her.
Jack does not want Tracy on the ranch at all but Greta invited her to stay at big house. The rest of family is accepting of Tracy as Seth's family.
I love how everyone cares about Seth and steps up and shows there love for him, teaching him, playing with him.
There is two love scenes in the book easy to skip over them if you don't want to read. There is violence in the book. I like Beth writing style. She keeps the readers wanting to keep reading. I will read more of Beth's books in the future.
I was given this ebook to read by Netgalley and Harlequin. In return I agreed to give a honest review of Colton Cowboy Protector.
Deputy Dorie Berenger
knew it was going to be a rough day when the alligator she found in the
town drunk's swimming pool turned out to be stoned. On heroin. Now she
has some big-shot city slicker from the DEA trying to take over her
turf. And Agent Richard Starke is everything she'd feared-brash,
demanding and way too handsome for his own good. Or hers.
The
folks of Gator Bait, Louisiana, may know everything about each other,
but they're sure not going to share it with an outsider. Richard
wouldn't be able to catch a catfish, much less a drug smuggler, without
Dorie's help. But some secrets-and some desires-are buried so deep that
bringing them to the surface will take a major...Rumble On The Bayou.

My review: Rumble on the Bayou by Jana Deleon
3 STARS
Rumble on the Bayou was good but not as funny or mystery as good as her other books. The characters were not as expected they had hidden secrets to them. They were also likable. There was a couple of love scene but easy to pass over if wanted to.
Deputy Dorie Berenger has two jobs. Besides being a deputy she is also a game warden who likes to fish on her day off. She lives on a boat. DEA Agent Richard Starke has been chasing a drug dealer for 8 years. He does not want to be in Gator Bait. He does not want to work with the deputy. He is not impressed with her. He has always lived in the city.
The setting was Gator Bait, Louisiana. Which was rightly named. There were a lot of gators in the area.
Dorie is called out by a local because a gator was swimming in her swimming pool. He has a backpack in his mouth and other things. They are surprised to find drugs & money in it.
There was one scene that was gross to imagine. Lots of violence, and action.
I like Jana DeLeon's books and look forward to reading more from her in the future.
Apple Valley, Washington, is where starting over means surprising new
chances, facing trouble always brings a helping hand—and the most
unlikely hopes can forever come true…
Apricot
Sunshine Devereux-Miller needs to stay lost. Her eccentric aunt's home
in Apple Valley is the perfect place to forget her cheating ex-fiance
and get her no-longer-perfect life back under control. Plus, it
couldn't hurt to fix up the house and turn its neglected orchard into a
thriving business. And if Apricot can keep deputy sheriff Simon
Baylor's two lively young daughters out of mischief, maybe she can
ignore that he's downright irresistible—and everything she never dreamed
she'd find ...
Simon isn't looking to have his heart broken
again. He already has his hands full raising his girls. And lately
he's thinking way too much about Apricot's take-charge energy and
unwitting knack for stirring up trouble. He can't see a single way they
could ever be right for each other. Unless they can take a crazy
chance on trusting their hearts—and risking the courage to finally find
their way home.

My review: The Orchard at the Edge of Town by Shirlee McCoy (Apple Valley #3)
4 STARS
I like this series. It is full of fun, good characters, drama and romance. It is also a clean read.
Apricot Sunshine Devereux-Miller decides to hide out at her Aunt Rose Orchard. She used to spend some weeks every summer before college. Apricot was supposed to get married and be on her honeymoon but her groom showed up 2 hours late to wedding.
She is driving a old truck and pulling a trailer wearing her pink wedding dress when it breaks down only 3 miles from her Aunt's place so she gets her bike out and rides it because she destroyed her phone.
She ends up being held hostage till the cop comes and she has sworn off men.
Simon has moved to Apple Valley after his wife died before his twin girls were one year old. He is a member of the Police. He is attracted to Apricot right off. His daughters are really cute.
The other two policeman in Apple Valley had there own romances in the first two books of the series.
Apricot owns her own business in LA. She has given the last 5 years to her fiance. She is not ready for another relationship. She fights it.
Someone dropped a box of kittens at the farm, because there is no animal shelter in town and the next town over has one but it is a kill one.
I liked Apricot and her family but I would not want to eat cow tongue either. Just saying the name alone turns me off.
I like to read books by Shirlee McCoy and will look for more of her books to read in the future.
I was given this ebook to read by Net Galley and Kensington. In return I agreed to give honest review of The Orchard at the Edge of Town.

My review: Wildest Dreams by Robyn Carr (Thunder Point #9)
4 stars
I love Thunder Point series. There is one couple who fall in love but there is such a good cast of characters that you get to see and know again. There is fun, drama, romance and deals with real problems.
We met Lin Su Simmons and her teenage son Charlie when she came to be Winnie's nurse. She hides her past and trials she is going through. But no one lets her do that.
Charlie has a lot of health problems mainly asthma. He loves his computer and looks forward to going to school in Thunder Bay than his old school. He and Winnie really get along.
Blake Smiley has bought the house next to Winnie's He runs Ironman races and trains really hard. He is also giving back too. He likes Charley right off the bat.
Winnie suffers from LS. Winnie was a champion skater. She has moved to Thunder Point to reconnect with her daughter Grace. Grace and Troy live in the bottom of the house too. Also Grace's Olympic coach Mikhail has come to stay and be with Winnie in this time of her life.
We see Grace, Iris & Payton have there babies.

There is a rancher next door that they meet as soon as they pull into there driveway.
The only problem with these stories is that they are too short. But that is also on the plus side if you don't have a lot of time these can be read one at a time.
We see some miner characters from the first set of Snow Valley books, back. But they totally can stand alone from them.
They are all clean reads.
I was given these books to read and in return agreed to give honest review and be part of Summer in Snow Valley book tours.

My review: The Texan's Twin Blessings by Rhonda Gibson
4 STARS
This is a charming story. I had to smile a lot while reading The Texan's Twin Blessings. The characters are cute especially the twins. There was plenty of drama, community that pulls you into wanting to see more. It does mention God, prayer and church but in a total part of the story, not preaching. It is a clean read too.
William Barns has his hands full with crying babies when he gets to his Grandmothers home. The twins are hungry, wet and tired. They have come from Denver, CO to Granite, TX.
Emily Jane Rodgers.is single and works at the bakery. She and a friend Anna Mae live across the street from Williams late grandmother. She opens the house for him and tells him that she died a month ago.
Emily and Anna Mae help clean the house so he and the twins can stay there. Emily also agrees to watch the girls while he works till he can find someone else.
Rose and Ruby are one year old twin girls. There mother was killed in a bank robbery. There father the sheriff took off after the crooks. There Uncle William has been trying to take care of them but needed more help.
I really liked this story and would like to read the next book which tells Anna Mae's story next. See all the changes that have taken place in Granite.
The setting is Granite, TX Late Spring 1887

My review: Exit Strategy by Shirlee McCoy ( Mission: Rescue #3)
4 STARS
This is the third book in the Mission Rescue series. I like this series. Exit Strategy was exciting, lots of drama, mystery and romance. Is a clean read too. I like the characters of Hart.
Lark Porter is a widow in a lot of trouble. She is a prisoner, who has not eaten for days because every time she eats she is drugged. Lark came back to the compound to try and find who murdered her husband.
Hostage Rescue and Extraction Team member Cyrus Mitchell. Has come to Amos Way and got a job in security. He was really looking for Lark Porter for a friend.
Amos Way is a commune for a religious sect. Elijah Clayton was the leader. They had a fence and a security force. The compound was watched over with security cameras. In the middle of no where in the Pennsylvania forest. There was something more going on here than just a religion.
Cyrus went in without backup. They took his cell, keys and money away. No cars in the compound at all.
This has car chases, shootouts and lots of other drama. This was a good story. One other thing I like while the characters fall in love fast they don't rush into sleeping together or even marriage fast. It seems more real that way.
I like Shirlee McCoy's writing style. I will continue to keep reading her stories in the future.
I was given this ebook to read by Net Galley and Harlequin. In return I agreed to give a honest review of Exit Strategy.
