My reviews: Fool Me Once by Steve Hockensmith and Lisa Falco ( A Tarot Mystery #2)
This is a good mystery that I still guessing till the end. I liked the characters. The tarot cards is still confusing for me but interesting. This is a clean cozy murder mystery. It left me wanting to read the next book in the series.
Alanis McLachlan has inherited her mother's store White Magic Five & Dime and found a sister. Alanis plans to make right to the customers that her mom conned.
Marsha is abused wife. Who was coming to her mother's business multiple times a week. Alanis tries to be her friend and convince her to divorce her husband and file charges. Instead someone killed her husband with a baseball bat. Marsha is the main suspect.
Alanis was raised to con and fraud. Till she was able to runaway from her mom. She had not seen her mom for decades and surprised that her mom left her the business. Alanis uses her talents of lying and cons to try and prove Marsha's innocent.
There is a lot of tarot card reading and the meanings. As Alanis is trying to learn how to read tarot cards.
The setting is Berdache, Arizonia. They are known for the one vortex they have out in the desert.
I was given this ebook to read by Harlequin and Midnight Ink . In return I agreed to give a honest review of Fool Me Once.
