Pegasus Down by Philip Donlay (Donovan Nash Thrillers#6)

Description

A CIA-operated jet on a clandestine mission disappears in Eastern Europe. No mayday, no wreckage, and no known survivors. No way to know if the top-secret extraction of a key American scientist from Slovakia, or his liberator, Dr. Lauren McKenna, code name Pegasus, are dead or alive.
Donovan Nash’s precarious world is rocked when word reaches him that his wife, Lauren, is missing in Eastern Europe. Using his millions, and fueled by the fear of losing his wife, Donovan and company cut a swath through Austria and Hungary. Desperate, Donovan leverages his lifelong secret to enlist an unlikely ally—one of his oldest friends—who may very well want him dead. As Donovan closes in on the truth, another, and more deadly, reality is revealed. A ruthless terrorist group has acquired a stealth aircraft with the ability to deliver a nuclear device. They are poised to strike—but where? What started as a rescue turns into a full-throttle aerial chase. Will Donovan be able to rescue his wife, as well as prevent a nuclear catastrophe?

My review:Pegasus Down by Philip Donlay (Donovan Nash Thrillers#6)

4 STARS

This is my first Donovan Nash thriller that I have read but it won't be the last.  I liked it so much I have already bought the first of the series.  It is a nail biter till the end.  Lots of drama, mystery, action and strong characters made it a book I hated to put down.

Donovan Nash has a big secret that only a few people know.  As a new reader I did not know what secrets he hid for awhile.  He is married and has one little girl that he loves.  He has some really good friends and co-workers. He works with Eco-Watch

Dr. Lauren McKenna  is on a job for the CIA when the plane she is on crashes into water.  She is able to get out of the plane and get her old friend out to.  Lauren has no idea where she is and if anyone will find her.  She is smart, talented, and a strong female character.  She does not know if she will ever see her husband and daughter again. Lauren actually works for DIA.

Dr. Daniel Pope and Lauren knew each other at MIT years ago.  He went to CIA and asked for help and he wanted Lauren to bring him in.  He was kidnapped and forced to work on secret stealth plane for someone who had a nuclear device.

Someone wants to stop Lauren and Daniel.  There are different groups trying to find them.  The US goverment is not going to help.  Donovan is determined that he will find his wife and bring her back at no matter the cost.  Even is he has to reveal his secrets to the world.

I liked that there were a few strong female characters in this book.  There is a lot of violence and chases, explosions as everyone races to catch Lauren if she still alive.  This is a well told story.

The setting is all over.  Most of the chases is in the Soviet Union countries.

I was given this ebook to read by NetGalley and Oceanview Publishing.  In return I agreed to give a honest review of Pegasus Down.
