Synopsis:

When her office mate, accountant Susan Neh, brings Angelina Bonaparte a client named Adriana Johnson, the PI wonders how she can help this bedraggled young woman. Adriana’s parents, immigrants from the former Yugoslavia, were murdered only a week earlier, in a robbery at their small hardware store. Now she has discovered that, despite living like the working poor, they were actually quite wealthy––with numerous large bank accounts located around the world. Adriana is suspicious about her newfound status and hires Angie to discover the nature of her deceased parents’ wealth. When Angie arrives to interview with the parents’ attorney, Herman Petrovitch, he is missing, but his secretary Dragana is there––lying dead on the office floor, with her head blown off. Homicide detective––and Angie’s own boyfriend––Ted Wukowski, cautions her against getting involved in the murder investigation. Of course, Angie pays little heed to his warning

My review: Cash Kills by Nanci Rathbun

5 STARS

This is cozy murder mystery. It is exciting, drama, action and full of suspense. You are shown a good suspect early on but motive you find out a little bit at a time. It is a clean read.

What a fun cast of characters. Angelina Bonaparte PI who is a grandma in her 50's. Her father has worked for the Mob. Her boyfriend is a homicide detective. Their is a melting pot of races. I want to see more of these characters.

Angie's new client is Adriana Johnson. Her parents were just murdered and she has found out some troubling news. She wants to find out where the money she just received came from. They have come to US in 1994 After Bosnian War.

I really did not know a lot about the Bosnian War. Hearing a little bit of it was hard, but I thought handled well. I appreciated the information of where to go to find out more was.

I want to go read the first book in the series now. Cash Kills can and does stand alone but you hear about how she met certain characters or events in the book. I just want to read it because I liked the characters and mystery.

I was given this ebook to read by author so that I can give a honest review and be part of a Cash Kills blog tour.
