My Review: Latimer's Law

3 STARS

I liked the storyline, the characters, the humor
I did not believe the character of Abby's after being abused by someone she trusts would sleep with a stranger she just met. I would think she would have more hang ups than that.

Abby was a widow. She was at a low point. Her brother-in-law was helping her to cope but the situation turned into abuse fast. When she saw a truck running at grocery store Abby decided to get away from everything and hopped in the truck and left.

Deputy Cade Latimer was in the back of truck. He knew better than to leave a truck running with the keys in it. He was not happy to be hi-jacked. Cade had his own problems he was dealing with. He liked helping people. He did not just judge her after he calmed down he wanted to know why she stole his truck.

I think it showed how little by little how anyone can be abused and trapped not knowing how to get out of the situation. Especially when the person is going through a crisis.

Their was too much sex in the story, too soon for the characters. I also by the blurb thinking that the brother-in-law would be doing more to find Abby than he did.

The setting was a small town in Florida. The book took place in just a couple of days.

I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley and Harlequin.
