The Black Stiletto: Black & White by Raymond Benson

5 STARS

Black & White is the second novel of the the Black Stiletto. I really enjoyed it.
I keep rooting for Judy Cooper and want things to go her way.
Martin is reading the second diary of his mother as she explains what is going on in her life as the Black Stiletto. Martin had no idea that his mom was the Black Stiletto till she was in a care center with altimers.
The story jumps from what is happening in Judy's life back in 1959 in New York City.
Then comes to what is happening to Judy and her family now through the eyes of her son Martin.
They are both exciting and keep you interested and not wanting to put the book down.
Judy turns out she is starting to fall for FBI Agent John in her disguise as the Black Stiletto.
John is told to gain her trust so they can bring her in. The FBI and Police want her brought in.
Judy gets involved trying to figure out what is troubling her teacher in martial arts.
She learns more about being black in 1950's is really like. She also is being black mailed, finds a child porn dealer, raids a brothel, stops drug deals.
Martin finds old film of his mother than around same time its shown on the news. The man who finds the film is trying to blackmail him too.
Thier is plenty of action, drama, strong characters, deciet, some romance. A touch of what life was like back in the 50's what movies, songs that people liked. Really made you be in the 1950s.
I know taking the law into your own hands is wrong but I was rooting for the Black Stiletto. I decided what I said next would be letting too much of the cat out of the bag.
Soon I will be starting to read the third novel of the Black Stiletto that is coming out soon.

Death on Dartmoore by Dara England

4 STARS
Death on Dartmoor is An American Heiress Mystery.
The ebook copy I have as Dartmoore in title but on Amazon they have it spelled Dartmoor.
Death on Dartmoore has a old fashioned mystery feeling to the novel. It was a quick, fun read. Also it was a very clean read.
Millicent Wright is a Heiress from America, who with her mother came over to see again how Sir Oliver Longbourne would be for a husband. Her mother wanted her to be married to a man with a title. Sir Oliver needed money.
But all is not what it seems to be they are expecting. First Sir Oliver does not come himself to meet them. Then others are gossiping about him that he is a gambler, close with a nieghbor who is staying thier. His sister does not say nice things about him.
That night he is murdered.
Thier are plenty of suspects, and motives. Millicent can't help noticing details and wanting to investigate.
Detective Lockwood would rather that she stay out of his way and let him to his job. They also make the guests all stay till the investigation is over. Not to talk to each other about the case.
Millicent does what she wants and keeps pointing out different things to different people. Then her life is in danger.
The story keeps your attention. I did not guess corectly who the murder was but I did guess something else that did happen in the story. I liked it and would like to read more of her mysteries in the future.

Low Pressure by Sandra Brown

3 stars

Low Pressure is about a writer Bellamy Lyston who has a best selling fiction novel. That has leaked that it was based on a true story that happened to her when she was 12. The way she wrote it stirred up a lot emotions and questions about who the real killer might have been. Did the cops have the wrong guy sent to prison where he was murdered?
Someone is messing with Bellamy sending her scary presents, breaking into her car and house. She left her apartment to go bsck to her hometown to figure who wants her stop asking questions.
Dent Carter was Susan's boyfriend at the time of the murder. He was the main suspect but his alibie checked out. Now he is a pilot with his own airplane. He was angry when he found out about the book.
Dale is the detective on the case. He has left the police department. He did not always follow the law.
Rupe is the D.A. now he is a car dealership owner and always doing commercials.
Van Durbin was the reporter that connected the pen name with her real name Bellamy.
He followed her to get more of the story.
The plot is pretty good did not guess the killer of susan or who is wanting to kill Bellamy. I ate the foul language and the sex scenes. Bellamy is a likeable character who is watching her father die of cancer and trying to figure out what really murder her sister before her father dies.

Toby Gold and the Secret Fortune by Craig R. Everett

4 STARS

A nice surprise in the mail today was Toby Gold and the Secret Fortune. I started reading it right away because it sounded good. It did not disappoint. Lots of drama, friendship, bullys, bad guys & money.
Toby Gold was left aboundened on a train no one remembers what happened to the lady with him earlier. He was raised in a bunch of foster homes. He was not having good luck at them.
Toby had two good friends off and on. Depending if new foster home lived in same area.
His new foster parents and foster brother he got now that he got his 10 foster family.
But his foster brother was not a good guy that he had all the adults think he was.
Toby had a lot of talent with math and sceince. He could add numbers way easy. Make money, figure interests.tell which direction the stock market is going to go.
I could not go to sleep till I had finshed reading it.

Dirty by Debra webb

3 STARS
Dirty A Jackie Mercer Novel
Dirty really fits this book in more than one way. Lots of sex talk, foul language and suspects a lot of them are in different law agencys. It keeps you guessing on who the bad and good guys are till the end. Lots of action, drama even some laughter.
Jackie Mercer owns her own detective agengcy. Her other detective was her Uncle Hank who retired and is own a cruise. Jackie finds out the morning after she slept with the guy that he had a warrent out for his arrest and turns him.
She gets a package at her office and in it a picture of a guy she had a one night stand with 10 years ago. It says she was the last person to see him before he disappeared. She never even got his name. She looks now into who he was and what has happened to him. Everyone is warning her off the case.
Some think he went bad and off the grid. Some think the FBI agent was the dirty cop, others think it was police especially Hank, Then it could be DEA agent that was bad.
Jackie seems to be the center of things and she does not know how or why. Her dad was the Judge, her Uncle the lead cop, two witnesses ended up dead, defendants were killed. After that time her father started thinking different around her. That was also the time her husband left her for a new girl and she was pregnant too.
A hot young excop gets hired to work with her. But is thier more to him? Jackie still draws a lot of attention from males of all ages. She thinks about sleeping with a lot of different guys.
I will see what the next book in the series is like. I really like Debra Webb's writings.

Unforgiven by B.J. Daniels

4 STARS

I was kept guessing right until the end. Unforgiven is a whodunit that happened 11 years ago. Everyone thought they knew who killed Ginny West.
Destry Grant has stayed on the family ranch helping her father run it since he was in a plane accident and now in a wheelchair. Destry is not close to her father, he always sees his late wife when he looks at her.
11 years ago when Ginny was murdered Destry had been making love in secret with Rylan West. She always felt guilty about that.
Rylan West has come back home to work on his family ranch after years away rodeo riding. He wanted to get justice for his sister and believed Carson Grant killed her.
Destry did not believe her brother was guilty of killing anybody let alone his girl friend Ginny. Destry and Rylan could not be together when they both had so very difference about Carson. Rylan threatened him when he tried to come to the funeral.
Carson's father told him to leave the area 11 years ago. Now WT wants Carson home.
WT has a lot of clout in the area especially the sheriff.
Thier has been found new evidence and the state DA has made it clear that Carson Grant return to his hometown or a warrent will be issued right away.
Carson came home is a sports car with his fiance. Carson wants his father to give him enough money to leave the country. His fiance is a showgirl from Las Vegas where he lived and worked.
WT wants Carson to stay home and run the ranch. He has no doubt that nothing will happen to his son. But he wants Carson's girlfriend to go away. WT wants Carson to inhierted the ranch when he is gone.
Carson owes a lot of money and plans to sell the ranch when he owns it someday.
Rylan hears that Carson is home and he heads out to make him pay and runs into
Destry on his way to the ranch. He still has feelings for her after all these years.
Someone is watching Destry sneaking up to the old cabin she is living in. Destry thinks she can take care of herself.
Thier was plenty of drama, suspenseful and romance.
Destry is a very strong character, she works hard, Loves and trusts both her brother and Rylan. Willing to risk her life to protect others.

4 STARS

This is the last book about the Amish girls who were kidnapped and being sold. I had read the book before and was excited to find out if Hannah Troyer Caleb sister was found. I want to go back and read some of the earlier books about the Colton family.
Tate Colton is a Philly detective who was working on a joint task force with the FBI
were working on the kidnapping of Amish girls around the east coast because one they were innocent and did not go to outsider police.
Caleb Troyer did go to the police and he did work with FBI Agent Emma Colton. In fact they are going to get married once Hannah is found safely.
Tate Colton is going undercover when they found where Hannah is. He is going in as a rich guy who wants to buy a innocent girl. When he actually sees Hannah she is not alone and he needs to try and gain her trust but not give himself away, till they find the guy who is the mastermind of the plan.
I really don't want to say much more of the plot to give away some of the mystery.
I do like Hannah's strong character and how she fights to stay brave with all the trials she goes through. Wish we got to see a little bit more of her brother Caleb in this book.
I could fall for Tate or Caleb they both are following thier hearts and trying to protect others too.
Thier is some mystery but most of it is solved early, Thier is drama some humor and joy. It is a clean read. Some heavy kissing.

Big Shot is a romance mystery. It keeps up the suspense till the end. I like how Durk Lambert even gets right in thier when he sees a need and takes care of it.
Durk is rich, CEO of his family oil company. When he has time off for vacation he plans to head out to the family ranch.
Before he can leave his Aunt is taken from the ranch to hospital by ambulance. Durk heads for the emergency to see how she is. While he is waiting for news from the doctor another patient is brought in on a stretcher yelling about the car. Durk recongizes Meghan Sinclair a old girl friend that broke up with him two years ago. He went to see how she was and found out she was attacked in her condo.
Meghan was lucky that when she was attacked and yelled her big nieghbor came running and chased him off her. The nieghbor decided that getting Meghan medical help was needed more than chaseing the guy.
The nurse asks him to help feel out paperwork on Meghan since she was not making any sense. Durk did not remember her sister Lucy's last name but knew she lived out of town. Durk said he would make some phone calls to find out more.
Durk called Meghan's office and it rang busy it was not far from hospital so he decides to stop by and talk to Ben Meghan assistant. He found Ben murdered and picked up the gun to defend himself if needed. Then called the cops.
Meghan wakes up and can't remember her name or anything. She trusts Durk.
The police question Durk again but his albie about being at the hospital checks out.
It must be scary to not remember anything and know someone out thier wanted her dead. Also killed her co-worker that she does not remember. Who do you trust? I like that
Meghan does not give up and is determined to find out who killed Ben. She does not want to be a burden to Durk.

5 STARS

I recieved Crazy Horse's Vision in the mail today. I decided to quit what I was doing and read the book. The cover was drawing me in. I love the illustrations by S.D. Nelson. But was confused why the indians were different colors and the faces were different. In the back of the book S.D. Nelson explained his paintings and why the different colors and It brought a whole new point of the story.
The book is a short so you could read it than read what the author and artist share about the book. Then reread the book and have a fuller story.
All I really new about Crazy Horse was that he was a Indian leader when Custer died. This book shows a little bit more of Crazy Horse and how he got his name.
It is too bad that people's words and treaties were easy to be broken.
I would love to keep this book but I think many others would like it too.

I really liked all the information about the birds. It made the story so strong. Thier are a few love scenes that I skimmed over.
The Defenders deals with real issues like Eagles and other predators rehab. adoption, foster care, drug cartels and drug addiction.
Katie Bergstrom works in her new raptor rehabilitation facility near Jackson Hole.
It was built for her a dude ranch with a grant that even pays her. Katie was given up for adoption. She was a troubled teen till she saw the Raptors fly. Then she got a new passion and a new foster mother.
Joe Gannon was injured in Afgan. He is now working undercover for the FBI. To get close to Katie and see if she is part of her birth mom drug dealings. Joe is from Jackson Hole and so he is perfect for the role. He even had some falcon training so he good work with Katie. He does not think Katie is working with her mom.
Katie picks men that end up liars even on drugs. She is glad to meet Joe he is more the hero type than addicts. Her birds trust him and they can read peoples dishonest behavior.
I could almost see the birds taking off and landing in the discriptions. That would be cool to see those birds up close every day.
Iris knew that Katie was trying to get the state to open her birth records so she can find her birth mother. So Iris hires a P.I. and finds Katie's birth mom. She as a record as a drug dealer amd addict. She was only 16 when she had her.
Katie calls her mother. Days later they meet. Not at all like she dreamed of, but at last she is getting to know her. And her mom wants her to work with her.
The FBI want her to work with them and trap her mother.
The first half of the book tells a lot about the different birds and taking care of them and introduces all the characters. the Last half is more action and drama. It all works together into a good entertaining story.

Now she has moved to Washington D.C. and starting a new job teaching at Georgetown University’s forensic pathology department. Has left her home and job as head of forensic after the losses of her family. She has new friends that she is starting here in D.C.
While she is being a guest lecture one of her students is very ill. She decides it will be faster to just take her to hospital than get ambulance thier. So with two other students she goes to emergency room and it is very busy.
There has been a chemical attack in the subway. She tries to go down to help and Sam ends up back at hospital to be decontamened.
Sam finds her lover Xander Whitfield back in town from fishing. Xander was in the army, but he was raised by hippies who lived off the land in Colorado. He was on some websites the night before the attack and saw something about a attack might take place.
A detective Fletch that Sam had come into contact with a former boyfriends murder that she helped him solve asks her to come help on a victim that was top secret.
Thier is a lot of drama trying to figure out who did the attack and what was the poison that was used and how come only 3 people died when everyone else just got sick.
I don't want to give away the plot anymore but it got intense with everyone not sure what was going on. Did not trust certain people or groups.
Thier are a lot of smart powerful women characters in this book from different jobs and life choices. Both Fletch and Xander care about Sam. We also get to see more of Xander life back in Colorado.
The story line is believable you can tell thier was a lot of research into the different aspects of the novel. I did not want to put the book down till I had finshed. I have enjoyed reading J.T. Ellison books and look forward to reading more of them in the future.

This is my first audio book review. I have listened to kindle books but that was just the text to speach feature.

I like the stories, also like that I can do other things while listening. But if I need to go back and check on something I might have lost is harder that a book to flip back to or kindle text to speach feature.
I think these would be great for car trips if you have a cd player.

The Pet Finder Kid is entertaining, funny, mystery novel. I loved the characters.
The plot was good. I remember some of those feelings the kids faced in JR. High School.

When Zoey was a puppy she needed help to survive and the Vet was going to give her a shot of DNA of a bigger dog. Thier was a accident and Chet got the shot. He can now sometimes feel what animals around him like.
Chet does have one good friend he has made by walking past his house every day and walking together. Douglass a smart nerdy kid.

Creed Riley has the chance to buy the Rockin' C Ranch cheaply but first thier are some conditions set by Gran Presely.
1.He has to stay at the ranch for 3 weeks taking care of the animals, while she is going to take care of her older sister. If the animals are not well taken care of she can cancel the sale.
2.Her grandaughter Sage can live on the ranch her whole life if she wants to.
3. Either party can cancel the deal after the three week period is over if they want.
Creed agreed he felt right at home when he first got thier at the ranch.
Sage is an artist who was raised by her Grandma after her parents died when she was around 5. She can't believe her Gran wants to sale the ranch. She is going to talk her out of it.
Sage just makes it home to the ranch before the roads are closed because of bad snow storm. It does take the power out at the ranch and trap them together. Sage finds her Gran has already left the ranch before she got thier and Creed was thier to take care of the animals.
Sage has never wanted to have pets. She is afraid that everyone she loves will leave her like her parents and grandfather have. Someone has dropped off a ugly dog who is having puppies soon and a cat that is going to have a litter of kittens. The dog and cat get along really well.
Sage & Creed start to get along really fast and hard for two scared of committment people.
Thier is humor,Christmas traditions, romance, cute animals and family.
I will read more from Carolyn in the near future. I was given this ebook to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley.

A Small Case of Murder by Lauren Carr

4 STARS

I enjoyed reading a Small Case of Murder. It was full of murders and sucides over a long period of time. I wondered if I would like it as well as Lauren's later books.
Yes I liked her later books best but while saying that I did like this book.
I had a hard time putting this book down once I started it.
Thier are a lot of characters in this story. I especially liked meeting Joshua Thornton and his family.
Joshua moved his family after his wife's death back to his hometown of Chester, West Virginia. Joshua left JAG because he now was a single parent to his 5 children. He plans to open up his own law practice. Joshua bought a old building that the town doctor owned and it came with a lot of books and patients files.
His cousin Tad was the town doctor now and was interested in the records and asked for them.
During the move Joshua found a letter written from his parents friend Lulu that had died on the same day as his parents had. The letter was never opened till now.
It talked about the dead body the four of them found on thier prom night that disappeared before they could get back with the Sheriff to show him. The sheriff did not believe them.
Joshua and his family were interested that his parents found a dead body and did not know who it was. Lulu's letter mentioned that she saw the dead guy in a picture of
Reverend Rawling,Sheriff DeLaney and some other guys in army uniforms. She asked Reverend about the picture.
Lulu died of a drug overdose the same day she mailed the letter also the same day Joshua lost his parents.
Thier are a lot of murders that happened in the past and again now that have not been solved. Everyone knows who the leader of drugs in the area but no proof. Joshua quiet life that he moved back for doesn't last for long even in church.
I like all the plot twists and turns that kept me from putting the book down till i finshed reading it.
I was given this ebook to read from Lauren and in exchange to write a honest review of it.

Is it a perfect murder?

The Mystery of Smugglers Cove by Paul Moxham

4 STARS

The Mystery of Smugglers Cove is book 1 in the Mystery series by Paul Moxham. It is set in 1950 England. It is an old fashion mystery with children exploring the land around them instead of watching tv or playing video games.
I found it entertaining and lots of action as the children find smugglers using the caves.
Sarah was the youngest of the children at age 8. Amy 10 and her brother Joe 12 and thier new friend Will 12. Joe and his sisters are staying in Smugglers Cove for the summer since thier house in London had a bad fire in it. So they can't stay thier untill its repaired.
Will tells them that Smugglers Cove used to have lots of smugglers using caves and tunnels coming up into peoples houses. That was how they got the name of the town.
The children think it will be fun to check out the caves and explore the area together.
I will look forward to reading future books in the series to come.

A Gift for all Seasons by Karen Templeton

4 STARS

A Gift for all Seasons is a cute romance at times I teared up and others laughed with them. Thier are a few love scenes that I skipped over.
April Ross knows what she wants and is not afraid to go for it. After the death of her husband April has a lot of money. April buys out her cousins part of the house that they inhierited from thier grandmother. April decides to remodel and turn it back into a inn. Her one cousin helped her with the decorating and her other cousin is going to run the restraunt.
April decides to hire a landscaper company to make the grounds fit the inn. She is startled when she sees the landscapers scars from a bad fire on half his face. April realizes that she owes him a sorry and admits it.
Patrick Shaughnessy works with his family in the landscaping buisness. He has gone through major burns and would have given up except for his little girl. Now he is a single father with a preschooler after his wife could not handle his scars. She also left him with his daughter while she went back to school.

No Regrets, No Remorse by R. F. Sharp

4 STARS
No Regrets, No Remorse is a A Sydney Simone Mystery.
I was wondering if I would like the character Sydney because of her business. She is a human pest control. Sydney checks out the people she is supposed to get rid of and makes sure they are bad guys. Sydney has no remorse for killing them.
She works off a internet site and no one is suppossed to know who and where she lives.
Sydney helps at a art gallery, law office for her exboyfriend. She also lives in apartment in the building.
Oscar Leopold is a sculpture artist and part time lawyer. He uses Sydney as a model a lot. He really does not like to answer his phone for either business. After a few times the phone ringing Sydney gets up from modeling to answer the phone. The first few times it rang she let her boss talk her out of answering.
The call was from Roy his ex-law partner and he is in jail for murdering his boss Jack. His boat was blown up with him on board.
Oscar and Sydney go to the jail to visit Roy and hear his story. Roy was also seeing
Jack's wife and had a fight with him days before his death.
Sydney took a case to kill someone but before she could someone else beat her to the job. Sydney does not give refunds. She should be able to be safe from the person who hired her from finding her. He leaves her a message that she could kill a different crooked lawyer for the money she already has been paid for.
Thier are a lot of twists and turns before the ending of the novel. I was surprised at how much I ended up liking Sydney and Oscar. Sydney is such a strong character, she is tough, rides a motorcycle, teases Oscar, she knows computers, guns, karate, as her own moral guide lines.
Oscar is divorced, doesn't know much about fixing cars, Owns a few used cars that are always breaking down, a artist, lawyer and willing to risk his prize possesions for a friend, does not take bribes to look away.
I would like to read more novels with them in it.
Thier were a lot of scenes that had me laughing out loud at them. A few dead bodies, a very good book that you don't want to put down till you finsh the book.
I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review from Netgalley.

The Memory Jar by Tricia Goyer

5 STARS

OH BOY! I cried and cried in different parts of the book. Some were happy tears, some sad and some not sure why but this book has really touched me.
The characters are so vivid. I like how we all are so connected to each other. This book has a lot in it. lots of drama, sweet memories that they flash back to.
It starts in Montana a small city. Sarah Shelter's family has just moved thier and she had wondered too far away into the woods when she hears rustling in the bushes thinking it might be a bear when Patty shows up. Patty is her age and they become good friends. They are so close and Patty is often telling Sarah she should sell her coupcakes. Patty looks on things with a different view.
One day they are at the Lake when Patty drowns and Sarah changes and closes off part of herself.
Sarah works at a bakery in town for Annie who is english. She wonders if she will ever get married.
Jathan Schrook is from Ohio. Lots of Amish come out for 6 months and then go hunting before going back to lives and girl friends. Jathan is trying to decide what he wants to do in the future. Is father and older brother all have plans for Jathan but he does not want what they want for him to do.
Jathan and his friend ask Sarah and others to hike up this mountain one day. Sarah' brothers have done it even her father has climbed it. So they all go for the hike. On the way up Sarah sprains her ankle and goes as far as she can. Then she tells the others to go on it wasn't that far away and she will be waiting thier. Jathan wants to stay with her but is talked into going up the rest of the way.
At the top is a old cabin that is covered with names on it. So they decide to do that. It took them longer to get to the top than they thought and then realized that have gone a long time. So they hurry down the path to find Sarah after aways into the hike they realize they must have taken a different trail down. The others can see the lake that they need to get to and decide they will continue down. if Sarah is at the lake than all is well if not they will go down and meet thier ride and get help.
Jathan decides to go back up to the top and than down thier oringal trail and look for Sarah that way.
Sarah after a hour or so decides to try and go down. She has seen the storm clouds and knows she will be a lot slower than the others. She sees a trail that is easier than the rock slide they climbed over and she marks the way she goes with a arrow of rocks.
She goes as far as she can than decides to sit on a log and wait. Sarah calls out a lot than decides to sing. Jathan finds her but they cant get down in the darkness and builds a fire. Everyone had empty thier backpacks and gave him anything they had left.
During the night Sarah got close to Jathan and really got to notice him that day. Jathan as been wanting to get closer to her for weeks. Early the next day he carries Sarah down and they make it to the search and rescue before they can get started.
Jathan asks to court Sarah and then things fall apart for Jathan.
I really like this book thier is so much more to this story of trying to find the path for the future that God wants them on. To respect the old ways and new ways together.
I hated to put this book down so get your tissues before you start.

The Texas Rancher's Marriage by Cathy Gillen Thacker

4 STARS

The Texas Rancher's Marriage is a Legends of Laranie County novel.
It has a good looking doctor returned home from war zone, cute twins,a community of characters, a unselfish mother, bunch of guests show up for honeymoon also lots of fun embarrasing moments and too many love scene details.
When Merri Duncan sister was having problems concieving she stepped in and donated her eggs and when the father too had problems he got a hold of his brothers sperm and used it. They had cute girl and boy twins. then the parents died together in a accident.
Merri steped in and was raising the twins and taking care of thier ranch for them.
Merri always wondered what had changed Chase Armstrong mind into donating his sperm to his brother when he refused once before.
Chase Armstrong was done with his tour in the army and now was back home and joined the hospital. He wanted to see his niece and nephew. When Merri had the chance she asked Chase why he changed his mind about being the father.
Chase was shocked. He never gave permission for his brother too use the sperm he donated for science to use as a donor father.
Chase did not want to be a father with someone else raising his children. Now he had 5 year old twins!
Merri and Chase decided it would be best if they marry instead of dragging the twins into a mess if he reveals what had gone on behind his back.
They hurry and get married. The grief counceler at hospital was worried that it was because of serving in the war.
The Judge doubted thier marriage and was looking into seeing if they were going to be good parents for the twins.
The whole town was watching them. Right before Thanksgiving a bunch of nurses he worked closely with showed up on his doorstop to take him up on to come visit him.
One of the nurses had a really bad crush on Chase. The twins are not happy with changes.
It was entertaining but I admit thier were a few scenes that I skipped over.
I like Cathy stories but I could do without detail love scenes in them. I will keep reading them just skip a few pages though.

His Larkville Cinderella by Melissa McClone

4 STARS

Is a sweet romance at times, a twist on Cinderella at times. At times I feel sorry for Megan and others proud of her.
This is a part of The Larkville Legacy. A eight book continuity series by different authors. It is the second one of the series I have read and far apart so I really didn't feel like they went together,
Megan Calhoun just graduated from collage. No one in her family came to her graduation which is sad. She has come to work as a intern on a film set for a costume designer.
She is working longer and harder than any job before and she is not getting paid to do it.
Adam Noble is the leading man. This is his first serious role, not an action role. He used to be a stuntman. He has grown up in Hollywood. Has short romances on sets he does not do long romances. He befriends Megan and enjoys her friendship.
Megan is waiting for her best friend to realize that she would make the perfect couple together. Then Rob calls her to tell about his new girl friend that she might be the one for him.
Adam's new leading lady Lane is engaged to the Producer of the movie. Lane is chasing after Adam she wants to be more to him. Adam is trying to work with her and stay out of her way. He does not want to get on the bad side of a powerful producer.
The story is interesting lots of relationships are developing on the set, at first Megan is so alone in hollywood and becomes friends with her co-workers even her boss who goes through tons of interns. I like how Megan is growing up and not afraid to be different any more. To fight for what she wants.
I would read more books from Melissa McClone based on this book. I would like to read the other books in the series and sees where they are all heading.

Austin:Second Chance Cowboy by Shelley Galloway

4 STARS
Austin: Second Chance Cowboy is a Hart of the Rodeo series. I personally have read them out of order and would recommend reading them in order. It keeps the book from spoilers. I think I would have enjoyed more if I did not know already the key points of this book before I had started it.
Austin Wright wakes up and doesn't remember somethings from the night before and realizes how many nights he can't remember. He realizes he has a problem with drinking too much. Austin has had to fight for everything he has. His dad was a drunk and a thief. People don't trust him. Austin does not trust his dad either.
Austin has a store that sells some clothes and rodeo tack some of it second hand.
When someone is stealing expensive saddles and tack he comes under suspicion. Especially when he does not give the sheriff his where he was durning the one theft.
Sheriff Dinah Hart is tired of all the thefts in her area. Even her family has had expensive saddle stolen and their stallion was taken too at the sametime. Dinah hears a lot of talk about how women are not good sheriffs.
Dinah in the past has dated Austin when they were younger. Austin still flirts with her and asks her out every once in awhile. When she is in his shop asking about his trouble in a bar she notices a used saddle thier. She keeps her eyes open for the stollen merchandise.
Austin decides to try AA meeting and is surprised with what he finds thier. Austin does not want to tell anyone that he has stopped drinking and going to meetings. His secrecy about it causes him lots of problems.
I like the Harts of Rodeo series. I also like that Dinah is a sheriff and works hard at her job. Even though she is a sheriff her family still teases her and act like big brothers do.
