Kate is immediately attracted to Cole Trent, but she's not ready to fall in love again, and certainly not with another cop.

The single dad has managed to evade their efforts until now, so he and Kate come up with a plan to keep the matchmakers at bay. Pretending to be a couple was a good idea, until Cole realizes his feelings are anything but pretend. Can he convince Kate to give their romance a real chance? My review: Falling for the Sheriff by Tanya Michaels (Cupid's Bow Texas)
4 STARS
I enjoyed the romance story.  Loved the little girls.  The other characters I liked too.  What a fun birthday party for the twins.
Kate Sullivan is a widow with a troubled son Luke.  She decides to move him to Cupid's Bow with her grandmother to get a new start.  Kate is a music teacher.
Cole Trent is the Sheriff.  He is a divorced raising twin five year old girls.  The twins are so different from each other.  His mother is always trying to fix him up.
Cole catches Luke shoplifting right as they get to town. So does not make a good example for him.
Kate's grandmother tries to set her up to with lots of single guys.  So Kate and Cole decide to date with the kids so they will not be set up with dates.
The setting is Cupid's Bow, Texas a small town in summer.
I was given Falling for the Sheriff by Harlequin and Net Galley.  In return I agreed to give a honest review of it.

From Bruges with Love by Pieter Aspe

Description

Behind the glamorous facade of elite Belgian society lies a seedy world unseen by the public eye—but nothing stays hidden forever

Inspector Pieter Van In is begrudgingly finishing up a healthy lunch when he hears the news: While restoring their farmhouse, the Vermasts have found a skeleton in the backyard. Van In, who happens to be married to the deputy public prosecutor, is determined to solve the case in double-quick time and squeeze in one last vacation before the birth of his first child.

But this murder is trickier than it looks, and Van In soon finds himself in murky waters. The Vermasts' land belonged to the most prominent businessman in West Flanders before it was suddenly handed over to a right-wing charity. The heavily endowed foundation appears to have no expenditures or investments. So who's financing it—and why?

Before he knows it, Van In finds himself in the middle of a complex web—one that involves high-level officials, local law enforcement, and common thugs. The harder he tries to unravel the thread, the more difficult it becomes to uncover the secrets that the charity's benefactors are trying to hide. This time Van In will have to risk lives to find out the truth.

A Caprice Deluca Mystery (Book 4)

4 STARS

Caprice Deluca is back in her 4 story.  The whole Deluca family is back plus other familiar characters and some new ones too.  This time Ace finds the body and asks Caprice for her help.

The mystery keeps you guessing to the end.  I love the characters and how they keep coming back and showing us what they are up too now.   It is more than just a mystery, it's family, friends and neighbors.

Caprice Deluca is a high end house stager.  She likes two guys really.  Grant her brother's law partner that she had a crush on years ago. They have never dated.  Seth the emergency Doctor who has moved for training.
Caprice is always rescuing animals and finding them homes.  The animals are a big part of everyone lives.

Ace Richland a former rock star asks Caprice to fit his girl friend house in her busy schedule.
Alanna Goodwin   a southern rich widow.  Caprice agrees to work with her.  Alanna has a cat
Mirabelle that she doesn't treat as well as Caprice she should. When she goes back to Alanna to give her apologies she over hears Alanna talking with a member of Ace's band and is working against him making a comeback. Before she tells Ace about Alanna someone killed Alanna.

Caprice starts asking about Alanna.  She also takes care of her cat till who ever inherits decide if they want her.

This book is one you don't want to put down. So much going on with Caprice's family and friends beside the mystery.  It is a clean read too.

Lone Rider by B.J. Daniels (The Montana Hamiltons #2)

When danger claims her, rescue comes from the one man she least expects

A cowgirl at heart, Bo Hamilton does her best thinking in wide-open spaces. So when money goes missing from the family foundation she runs—meaning one of her trusted ragtag employees is a thief—Bo rides into the Crazy Mountains to figure things out. But a killer hiding among the sawtooth ridges takes her captive…and isn't planning on ever letting her go.

Bo's disappearance gets folks thinking she's the guilty one run off with the money, but Jace Calder would bet his ranch that she's innocent. Not that he has any reason to trust the beautiful, spoiled senator's daughter. But she also gave his troubled sister a job when no one else would. For his sibling's sake, Jace is going after Bo and bringing her home to face the truth. But up in the mountains, he finds Bo at the mercy of a suspected murderer. As her only hope, Jace is about to find out what they're both made of.

My review: Lone Rider by B.J. Daniels  (The Montana Hamiltons #2)

4 STARS

There are so many story lines that are being told in Lone Rider. Most of the different parts of the story continue on into other books.  That I really wanted some more answers in this book.  So I will be waiting to read more books from her in the future.

There is plenty of drama, suspense, romance.  One romance I am not sure who I want to wind up together. But that story is part of a bigger story so I will have to wait for it.

Bo Hamilton runs her family charity. That is named after her deceased mother Sarah who turns up not dead with no memory of the last 22 years.  She has realized that someone has stolen lots of funds from it.  She has called in auditors to find out how and who did it.

Bo decides to ride and camp out in the Crazies mountain over night.  Bo does not make it back to meet with the auditors.

Emily is trying to get her life back on track and loves her job with the foundation and her boss. She has plenty of body piercings, tattoos and a cute three year old.

Emily asks her brother to find Bo.  He is a tracker.  He also in the past had asked Bo to marry him.  She has someone spying on her.

Jace Calder is a rancher and tracker.  He does not think Bo took the money but he is going to find her and bring her back no matter what.

Sarah does not know where she has been for 22 years.  The last thing she remembers is the birth of her twins.  Why did she try and commit sucide and leave her six girls.  She also thinks of herself as married but she is not.  We learn some more about Sarah.

At times  I think there is too many story lines going on at a time and I want more answers now.

I was given this ebook to read by Net Galley and Harlequin. In return I agreed to give honest review of Lone Rider.

Wild West Brides by Lori Copeland

Hang on for a wild ride with the three Claxton brothers, Civil War veterans who take refuge in the untamed West, and the three stubborn women who challenge their ideas of justice and freedom. Each brother has met his match, but will they be too stubborn to recognize God’s hand in these unions?  Includes: The Peacemaker, The Drifter, and The Maverick

My review:  Wild West Brides by Lori Copeland

Three novels that were published earlier.  The first novel is called The Peacemaker and was published in 2004.

Wynne was left at the alter by Cass Claxton and he took almost all of her money.  Now she wants revenge and travels to his home after the Civil War ended.  She keeps trying to justify her actions and that killing Cass wii be right thing to do.

She is beautiful owner of plantation but the war destroyed her land and emptied her home.  On her way to find Cass her stage is robbed and she is now penny less. She has a temper.

Cole Claxton on the way home from the war comes onto the stage right as they were robbed and his brother Beau stepped into bring her to his home.

I like Cole he sounds tough but he keeps helping Wynne.  Wynne says one thing but acts without thinking.  She is brave, feisty and keeps getting into messes.

The Drifter
It is so far my favorite book.  I cried, laughed at times.  It really had me feeling a bunch of things in this book. It starts really sad.

The setting is Missouri 1867 at the start and most of the book takes place in Kansas frontier.
Beau loses his wife and baby. Just decides to leave.

Charity Burk was left a widow from the war.  They were homesteading on 160 acres.  She has one year left to make improvements on the land to receive the deed.  She needs help but there is no help to be found.

She finds Beau being attacked and drags him into her cabin and tries to save his life.  She thinks if she does maybe he would marry her and help her for a year and then go if he wants.
Charity is a strong character.  I like her.  She is kind, hard worker and good neighbor.

The Maverick

This book takes place right after the Drifter ends 1868 in Kansas frontier.
The main character is the youngest brother Cass Claxton and Susanne McCord.  When I first met or heard about them I did not like them but in this book I have come to admire and care for them.

Susanne is spoiled.  She is willing to do anything to get back to her Aunt and a city.  She lies and tells her father that Cass had dishonored her when she spent the night in his brother's home.  Cass has no choice but to marry her and leave her at her Aunt's and get the marriage cancelled.

Years later Susanne is raising nine children that were in a orphanage that her Aunt started.  They are getting kicked out of their home and she blackmails & tricks Cass into helping her get the kids back to her father's home.

The children are fun, loveable and I wanted more of them.

These three stories are clean Christian romances.  I cared about them. I would read more books by Lori Copeland in the future.

I was given this ebook Wild West Brides to read by Net Galley and  Barbour Publishing, Inc..  In return I agreed to give a honest review of Wild West Brides.

The Forgotten by Heather Graham (Krewe of Hunters #16)

Murdered by a dead man?

A woman named Maria Gomez is murdered in Miami, apparently by her husband—who'd been presumed dead, slain by a crime boss. FBI agent Brett Cody can't believe it; dead or alive, the man had loved his wife. He also can't help feeling guilty, since he was responsible for protecting Miguel and Maria Gomez.

A few miles away, Lara Mayhew has just begun working at a dolphin research facility. She loves her new job—until a dolphin brings her something unexpected from the deep. A human hand. More body parts show up, and when Brett looks into the situation, he discovers that the dismembered corpse is Miguel's.

Soon, rumors of crazed zombies abound in the Miami media, and the Krewe of Hunters, an elite FBI unit of paranormal investigators, is called in. Brett and Lara find themselves working with the Krewe—and working closely together. An elderly crime boss who's losing his memory seems to be key to solving this case, but…there's no motive. Unless Brett and Lara can uncover one in the Miami underworld. And that means they have to protect themselves. And each other.

My review: The Forgotten by Heather Graham (Krewe of Hunters #16)

4 STARS

The Forgotten takes place right after The Silenced.  It can stand alone but better to read them both in order.  While this is a Krewe of Hunters we really only see two of the team.

There is plenty of drama, suspense mystery, cute animals and some scenes that will have you jumping.  There is also romance that really lasts and some that happen fast.  There is a few love scenes.

It opens to drama right off the bat. Maria Gomez is murdered by her deceased husband Miguel. or so it seems.

FBI agent Brett Cody is taking this case hard.  He had been the one who Miguel and Marie trusted to keep them safe after they came to him and was giving them evidence about some drug lords.  Now they both were dead.

Lara Mayhew has moved down to Florida after the ordeal she went through.  She is working in dolphin research center as the media person.  Lara hits it right off with a dolphin Cocoa.

Cocoa responds to Lara and brings her treasure and she also brings her a finger from the lagoon.  The finger belongs to the dead guy Miguel and not from where he was killed.

Brett and his partner want Lara and Cocoa to work with the FBI dive to see if there is more pieces of Miguel and others.

Lara's friend Meg & Matt come down to work the case from Virgina. Because having the dead commit murder is not normal.

I would love to swim with the dolphins or just watch the dolphins at the research center.

I like reading stories from Heather Graham.  They are interesting and full of drama and suspense.

My review:  A Bravo Christmas Wedding by Christine Rimmer (The Bravo Royales Book 9)

This is book 9 in the series and only the second one that I have read.  So there were a lot of characters that I have never met and would like to read there stories.  But I was not missing out of anything to make the story stand alone.

It was romantic, caring , drama , I liked the characters.  Was a couple of love scenes that I skipped over.

The setting was a Colorado ranch mostly in winter.

Princess Aurora Bravo-Calabretti has come to Colorado to attend her favorite cousins wedding.  Her mother has arranged for her friend rancher Walker McKellan to be her bodyguard for his brothers wedding.

Rory has had a crust on Walker for years.  She has been his friend too.  She is glad that she didn't
 have to bring royal bodyguards.

Rory is also a photographer and she wants to take pictures while she is staying at Walker's ranch.

Rory is concerned about Clara and Ryan's wedding.  The four of them have been good friends.

This is a nice fast read.  Makes me want to read more of the series.

I was given this ebook to read by Net Galley and Harlequin.  In return I agreed to give honest review of A Bravo Christmas Wedding.

My review:  One Frosty Night by Janice Kay Johnson

4 STARS

Good drama, mystery, characters well developed, and a few love scenes. Lots of tension in the town.

A girl around sixteen years old died in the woods.  No one has come forward to say who she was.  No one is willing to say anything about her.

Olivia Bowen has come back to her home town to help run the family business after her father had a heart attack.  Now that he had died she is not sure what to do.  Her relationship with her mother is strained.

Ben Hovik is a high school principle.  He is raising his step-son Carson.  He is divorced.  Ben is interested in Olivia.  He had dumped her when they were teenagers.

Carson is sixteen.  He is on the basketball team.  He is being bullied by two seniors.

I liked how it ended.  Though I can't believe how some people did not take seriously about what some kids had done.

I was given this ebook to read so I could give a honest review of it in exchange.

My review: Beyond A Doubt by Nancy Cole Silverman

 4 STARS

This is the second book in the Carol Childs Mystery series.  It does not disappoint.  The murder part of it comes out quick and other mysteries  you don't find out till later.  It is a gripping tale. It is a clean read.  Serious crimes happen but also has some humor in the story.

I like Carol and her friends and co-workers. She has a good circle  around her.  Carol is a divorced mother of two.  Her boyfriend is away for most of the book sailing,  He is a FBI Agent.  Carol is a radio reporter.

Carol is called out to report of a body found close to her house early in the morning.  They are wondering if it is one of the girls who have disappeared lately.  Carol wants to keep the missing girls up front as a media story.  She wants to find them before any more turn up dead.

The setting for this book is Hollywood, CA.  It also has a lot of old Hollywood star impersonators too.

One of her leads turns out to be someone who is part the police force.  Carol's own daughter is threatened.

I like the ending chapters. It all comes together just right.

I would read another book by Nancy Cole Silverman.

I was given this ebook of Beyond A Doubt to read by Net Galley and Henery Press.  In return I agreed to give a honest review and be part of Beyond A Doubt blog tour.

Thrill Me by Susan Mallery (Fool's Gold #18)

Meet the Mitchell brothers of Fool's Gold, California—five gorgeous men who've left a trail of broken hearts in their wake…

Maya Farlow learned the hard way to depend only on herself, so when she fell too deeply for the bad-boy charms of Del Mitchell, she did the only thing she could—she ran. Stunned, Del left Fool's Gold to make his name and fortune in extreme sports.

Now ten years later, Maya's been hired to promote her hometown's new slogan, The Destination for Romance. The celebrity spokesman is none other than Del, the man she dumped but never forgot. Awkward!

Although Del's not the type to hold a grudge, he's determined to avoid falling a second time for the woman who broke his heart. He's a daredevil, not an idiot. Trouble is, in all his adventures, he never found a rush as exhilarating as Maya's kiss. Maybe risking his heart will prove to be the biggest thrill of all…

  •  My review:  Thrill Me by Susan Mallery  (Fool's Gold #18)

  • 4 STARS

  • Thrill me has a lot of what makes Fool's Gold a series that you want to read. It has a lot of characters that we have met previously and new ones that you can't wait for their story to be told.
  • It has plenty of drama, humor and a few hot love scenes that i did skip over I admit too.
  • Of course it has the drama that brings everyone out to help each other.  It has the breakup scene where the woman get together and drink to pick the person up.

  • Maya Farlow has come back to Fool's Gold to work for the city to make videos about the town and festival for advertising and for the web  page.
  •
  • She also has to rein in  Eddie and Gladys's cable access show. They are having a naked butt contest on it for people to vote.
Del Mitchell left Fool's Gold after Maya hurt him.  He traveled and did extreme sports invented  some equipment and did some video himself.  He just had sold his company and he is not sure what he will do next.

Del is the oldest of five brothers.  His father is a famous artist, who is always about him and art.  His mom loves his father and is bringing all of his brothers back to town for a party but she is hiding big secrets.  Maya is helping her.

I realized that I had missed # 17  Kiss Me.  Thrill Me gives a lot of secrets about Kiss me in it so I would read these books in order.

Blog Tour: Stick in the Mud Meets Spontaneity by Rachael Anderson Giveaway $50 Amazon or Paypal Cash

SITM

Stick in the Mud meets spontaneityStick in the Mud Meets Spontaneity (Meet Your Match #3) by Rachael Anderson
Home from college for the summer, Samantha Kinsey steps into her role as nanny for her two favorite little charges. But when she finds herself playing chauffeur more than playmate, her summer outlook quickly turns from fun to bleak. That is, until she drives the girls to a family-owned ranch and meets Colten McCoy—a genuine, hard-working cowboy, who’s as set in his ways as he is handsome. Although he claims he doesn’t need any fun in his life, Sam’s determined to help him find it. But she’ll soon discover that cowboys are about as easy to train as wild mustangs.
Stick in the Mud Meets Spontaneity is about an adaptable girl and a not so adaptable guy. It’s about learning to accept people for who they are and realizing that sometimes who they are is exactly who they should be.

4 STARS

This is the third book in  Meet Your Match series.  I have read all three books and like them.  This book does not disappoint.  It does stand alone fine, but it is fun to see old familiar characters back and catch up on them.

This is a fun clean read.  Has some fun clean dating or friends activities to do that I would of liked to do.

Samantha Kinsey is home for the summer from college.  She starts a new job in the fall in New York that she is excited for.  It is her dream job.  She has a summer bucket list.  A summer fling is one of it.
Sam is going to be  playing chauffeur to Kajsa and take her to her summer job and riding lessons on the McCoy ranch.

Colten McCoy is a horse trainer and works on his family ranch.  He has brought home a wild mustang and entering a contest to train him for the summer. He is very happy to stay on the ranch for ever. Colten is afraid on flying.

I really liked Samantha and Colten's romance.  It was full of hard work, fun, romance and banter.  They both fit in good with there family and friends.  I hated each time I had to put the book down.

I will look for more books to read from Rachel Anderson in the future.

My review: My Heart Stood Still by Lori Copeland (Sisters of Mercy Flats#2)

4 STARS

I enjoyed this book and want to read the other two books of this series.  This is the second book of Sisters of Mercy Flats.  It is a clean Christian , romance, western, and historical all in one.

Anne-Marie is the middle sister of three orphans that never plan to marry.  They were raised in an orphanage in Texas.  The three sisters con money from rich people and give to the sisters. They have been lucky up till now.

They were in the back of a prison wagon being chased by Comanches dressed as Nuns.  Each sister was taken off by three different men riding off in three different directions.

Ann-Marie was on a horse riding double with a Indian rescuer.  Who did not speak English.  She is cold and worried about her sisters if they got away or not.

Creed Walker is a Crow warrior.  He has a lot of secrets.  He plans to drop her off at nearest town.  He is surprised when he finds out she is not a Nun.

The setting is the last year of the Civil War in the West.
There is so much danger, action, gold, chases with horses.  You never know what will happen next. As they try and finish their goals.  It is a good fun clean story.

I would read more books from Lori Copeland in the future.

I liked the stories and how little things and extra steps really made a difference in peoples lives.
I had heard some of the names but did not realize what their past was or the difference the people in their lives made. And what they did influences are lives today.

The one story that influences most of us is Philo T. Farnsworth the father of tv.  He was one smart guy.  He had also made the first infant incubator

Also shows how just holding children and giving them  love makes a big difference in showing how the children in orphanages in Romania thrive with love, color and time spent with them.

It also shows examples of teachers in students lives how they can make a big difference in there lives.  Sometimes by teaching, extra attention or examples.  Or those teachers who judged you on your past and would not let you change.  Or talked down to students really had a negative effect too.

I really liked Stephen's story.

It really makes you think if you are going to positive  to peoples lives or negative to others. I hope the first.

This is a positive story I was glad to have read it.

My review:  One Night in Weaver by Allison Leigh (Men of the Double-C Ranch)

4 STARS

I want more of this series.  There are a few story lines that I want to know what happens next.  Lots of drama, with both of the main characters in their lives.  A few love scenes but were easy to skip over for me.

Dr. Hayley Templeton has a lot going on with her family.  Her grandmother I liked.  She  has a busy profession and is working on one case that is very hush hush.

Seth Banyon is a security guard.  Or that is what he says to people anyway.  He is very interested in Hayley's patient. He has some issues with him.  He can't stay away from Hayley.

The setting is Weaver,  Wyoming a small town.  Hayley's good friend Jane is getting married to Chase.

There are a lot of secrets in Weaver and a lot of black ops being ran from there.

Fast good read.   Characters that I loved.  Old characters from previous books back and new ones too.

I was given this ebook to read from Harlequin and Net Galley and in return I agreed to give a honest review of One Night in Weaver.

The Secret Sister by Brenda Novak (Fairham Island #1)

Did she once have a sister? Has her mother lied all these years? Why?

After a painful divorce, Maisey Lazarow returns to Fairham, the small island off the North Carolina coast where she grew up. She goes there to heal—and to help her brother, Keith, a deeply troubled man who's asked her to come home. But she refuses to stay in the family house. The last person she wants to see is the wealthy, controlling mother she escaped years ago.

Instead, she finds herself living next door to someone else she'd prefer to avoid—Rafe Romero, the wild, reckless boy to whom she lost her virginity at sixteen. He's back on the island, and to her surprise, he's raising a young daughter alone. Maisey's still attracted to him, but her heart's too broken to risk…

Then something even more disturbing happens. She discovers a box of photographs that evoke distant memories of a little girl, a child Keith remembers, too. Maisey believes the girl must've been their sister, but their mother claims there was no sister.

Maisey's convinced that child existed. So where is she now?
My review:  The Secret Sister by Brenda Novak  (Fairham Island #1)

I liked The Secret Sister.  It had romance, drama, mystery and characters that I wanted things to work out for.  It did have a few love scenes that I could do without.  It set up for a new series called Fairham Island.
Maisey Lazarow is the main character.  Her last couple of years as been really hard on her.  Maisey whole world was shaken up.  Her brother called her for help so she moved back from New York to Fairham Island, North Carolina for him.
Maisey would rather live in a cottage with damage then move back home with her mother. Her mother wants things always her way or else.
Rafe Romero is the person putting the cottages right.  He is next door living in a cottage.  Rafe has a little girl. Rafe was also the boy who was a one night stand with Maisey when she was a teenager.
Rafe is still attracted to her and Maisey to him.  Maisey is not in any condition to fall in love again but they can't stay away from each other.
While Rafe was working on another cottage he found a box of pictures hidden in a wall.  He gave them to Maisey thinking they were pictures of her and her family.  The pictures really shook her up and her family.  Because she was not the girl in the pictures.
The mystery I did guess what did happen.  But not everything.  Lots of drama that I did not want to put down till finished.
I would read another book in the Fairham Island series.
I was given this ebook to read by Net Galley and Harlequin.  In return I agreed to give a honest review of The Secret Sister.
