Flawless by Heather Graham

Description

  • Hardcover: 304 pages
  • Publisher: MIRA (March 29, 2016)

My review: Flawless by Heather Graham

4 STARS

Flawless is a change of pace for Heather Graham.  It has no paranormal aspect to it.  Just a good romantic suspense.  I was not sure who the bad guys were till the end.

Kieran Finnegan is a smart hard working woman.  She just graduated from college and working at a new job full time and then after work she helps work in her family's bar Finnegan.  She cares about the people around her.  Has a great motto.

Kieran is returning a diamond that was taken from a jewelry store when it gets robbed.  She becomes a kidnapped victim.  She is not afraid to take action.  She needs to keep it a secret her real purpose for being in the store at the time of robbery.

I did stay up late till I had finished reading Flawless to see what and who the bad guys were.

The setting for the story is New York City, NY

There are a few love scenes in it.
I like all the FBI Agents in the story.  I hope we get to see more of them in the future.  Plus all of Kieran's family I would like to see again.

There is a lot of humor along with mystery.

I was given this ebook to read by NetGalley and Harlequin and in return I agreed to give a honest review of Flawless.

Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis (Cedar Ridge #3)

From New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis...

SOMETIMES YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN . . .
After an overseas mission goes wrong, Army Special Forces officer Jacob Kincaid knows where he must go to make things right: back home to the tiny town of Cedar Ridge, Colorado. All he needs to scrub away his painful past is fresh mountain air, a lakeside cabin, and quiet solitude. But what he discovers is a gorgeous woman living on a boat at his dock.

Sophie Marren has nowhere else to go. She's broke, intermittently seasick, and fighting a serious attraction to the brooding, dishy, I'm-too-sexy-for-myself guy who's now claiming her dock. Something about Jacob's dark intensity makes her want to tease-and tempt-him beyond measure. Neither one wants to give any ground . . . until they realize the only true home they have is with each other.

My review: Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis  (Cedar Ridge #3)

4 Stars

I liked it so much I went and bought the first book in the series. Nobody But You can stand alone, but I like the characters and would like to see more of the Kincaid family.  Lots of drama, family, humor and romance.  There are love scenes which I skipped over.

Jacob Kincaid left home years ago when he was 18 and joined the army.  He had a fight with his twin and has had no contact with him or his half-brothers or sister. He just lost his best friend to bomb and realized that he needs to go back home while on leave. He rents a old cabin in the area.

Sophie Marren is divorced and all she took was her ex-husband boat that makes her seasick.  She is broke so she tries to park on empty docks. Sophi works a lot of temporary jobs. She has no one really to turn to.

I liked getting to know Jacob and Sophie's characters.  I wanted to see more of Jacob's story.

The setting is a family's ski resort that had a sneak balloon payment coming up.

I was given this ebook to read for free from NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing).

My review: Hard Rain by B.J. Daniels  (The Montana Hamiltons #4)

4 STARS

B.J. Daniels keeps you wanting to come back and find out all the answers to the mysteries.  I keep hoping for more and more but we just get enough to make me come back again.

Hard Rain has lots of mystery in it that will keep you guessing who the murder is or was.

Brody McTavish has worked on his family ranch. It is next to the Hamilton's ranch.  He has watched Harper over the years but she was too young for him.  His father and uncle hate the Hamiltons.

Harper Hamilton has come back to the ranch after she graduated from college.  She is out riding very fast screaming out loud.  When Brody thinking she is afraid and her horse has run out of control comes to rescue her by taking her off her horse.

While they chase down Harper's horse they find in a mud slide a dead body.  They end up trying to figure out who killed Brody's cousin?  Chief suspect is Harper's grandfather.

The mystery that is over the Montana Hamiltons is What happened to Harper's mother where has she been and why.  Why has she come back without any memories.  While Harper's father is running for President.
I will come back to see what happens next in the Montana Hamiltons.

I was given this ebook to read by Netgalley and Harlequin.  In return I will give a honest review of Hard Rain.

Description

  • Series: Martin's Crossing
  • Mass Market Paperback: 224 pages
  • Publisher: Love Inspired; Not for Online edition (February 23, 2016)

My review:  The Rancher's First Love by Brenda Minton (Martin's Crossing #4)

4 STARS

I have enjoyed reading this series Martin's Crossing.  The Rancher's First Love is book #4.  It is a emotional story.  We meet Samantha Martin.

Sam is back home.  Her brothers sent her away when she was a teenager.  They did what they thought was right.  Sam has a hard trusting that people will not leave her. She is a nurse working with children.

Remington Jenkins was the ranch hand that Sam was in love with that her brothers caught them together.  Remington was kicked off their ranch and sent back to his parents. Remington has moved back to Martin's Crossing to help his family. I love his horse John Wayne.

Sam and Remington have to forgive each other and their families.

You meet some new characters and see a bunch from the first 3 books back.
This is a Christian romance.  A lot about prayer that fits so well in the story considering Remington is the new pastor.

The characters felt real.  They had weakness and strong characters.  They cared for those around them.

I have enjoyed reading the first 5 books of this series this week and look forward to reading more books by Brenda Minton in the future.

I was given this ebook to read by NetGalley and Harlequin.  In return I agreed to give a honest review of The Rancher's First Love.

Before Rebecca's husband died he arranged for their farm and their boys to  be part of the Pony Express.  Rebecca is worried about her boys.

Seth Armstrong was hired by the Pony Express to manage and train the boys on the Young farm.  Seth plans to work just long enough to be able to keep searching for his missing mail order bride.

My review:  Borrowing Trouble by Stacy Finz  (Nugget #6)
4 stars
I like this series.  It is a small mountain town in Nugget California.  Most of the characters are in previous books. So the books are community.  I love the characters, plot and setting.
I hate all the love scenes in detail, but can skip over them if you want to.
You can  read this as a stand alone but works better if you read the books in order.
Sloane McBride is the new police officer in town.  She used to work as a cop in LA, but when she realized some of her co-workers were bad cop she turned them in. She has been threatened by some cops.
Brady Benson's is the cook working for the hotel he does not talk about his past.  He likes to feed others.
Brady & Sloane live side by side in Rhys's duplex.  They start  a friendship right away.

Some teenagers find a body.  Sloane gets the case to work.  Both Brady and Sloan have their lives being threatened.
I was given this ebook to read by Netgalley and in return I agree to give a honest review.

  • Brooke Harper finds out that she has a twin sister living with her father who she thought was dead.  Brooke leaves Las Vegas to the Colorado ranch to meet her, but finds no one home but Trent a neighbor.

  • The story really works for me the characters react in a believable way when they find out about who Brooke really is.
  • There is two love scenes

  • I would love to read a story about the other twin in the future.

My review: Three Promises by Lily Everett (The Billionaire Bachelors #4)

    4 STARS
This is a reissue with a new epilogue, but I have not read them before.
This has three novellas in one story. Miles Harrington is getting married on Sanctuary Island.  He wants all three of his young friends to have the magic of Sanctuary Island.  So he has challenged them to a bet that before they are done they will find love too.  Miles has given them each a job to help with the wedding.  The one who wins the bet gets his custom helicopter and access to the roof of the Biltmore club.

Even though they are all Billionaires they have problems too.  Cooper gets to plan the honeymoon.  Leo gets to find the perfect reading for the wedding. Zane the wedding reception.

It is fun to see them fall in love and not to get there way. Lots of drama, romance as they plan there part of the wedding.  We do get to see the characters from previous books but just minor.   For shorter stories they are good. Some sex scenes. Pretty scenery. light and fun to read.

I was given this ebook from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press.  In return I agreed to give a honest review.sut
