My review: Surrendering to the Sheriff (Sweetwater Ranch #7) by Delores Fossen
4 STARS
I have read most of this series and this answers some questions but still leaves the big question unanswered. Surrendering to the Sheriff is jam packed with suspense, action, mystery. You are kept guessing what is going on and who is behind it. Every time you think they will get the answers something else happens to muddy the water and keep you glued to the story to find out.
Sheriff Aiden Braddock comes home and realizes something is not right. He finds Kendall O'Neal on his front room floor with two masked gunmen threatening to shoot her if the Sheriff does not take there phone and video himself destroying evidence in a case.
Aiden wonders if Kendall part of a setup. The evidence is proof of his father murder 23 years ago and will be used against Kendall's half sister Jewell's trial. Aiden tries to pull off that he does not care for Kendall and her family. The bad guys know something Aiden doesn't. Kendall is pregnant with his baby.
Kendall is a lawyer. Her half sister raised her and is now in jail waiting trial. Kendall has liked Aiden since there first kiss right before he knew his dad was murdered. After a night of both drinking hard they had a one night stand.
I know I am going to read the next book of the series by Delores Fossen. I want the answers to all the questions.
I was given this book to read by Chatterbox for free. In return I agreed to tell people what I thought of Surrendering to the Sheriff A Harlequin Intrigue novel.
New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne brings you back to Haven Point—a place made for second chances…
McKenzie Shaw would do anything for her hometown of Haven Point. It may be small, but it's never let her down…unlike gorgeous, infuriating Ben Kilpatrick. He was her childhood hero until he closed his family's factory, leaving the town's economy in shambles. Now his tech firm is considering opening a local facility. For Haven Point's sake, McKenzie has to grit her teeth and play nice.
What could a town filled with painful memories ever offer Ben? Yet seeing the town through the eyes of McKenzie—its fiery young mayor—he suddenly has his answer. If only he can resolve the animosity crackling between them, Ben may have found the place where he can build ties and find healing…a place where love arrives when it's least expected
I love this series. This is the second book in Haven Point. It is full of drama, small town with wonderful characters that help each other through there trials. Clean read too.
McKenzie Shaw is Mayor of Haven Point. She even owns her own business a flower and gift store. She loves her town and resents Ben Kilpatrick for ruining her town.
Ben Kilpatrick has been forced to come back to Haven Point. His boss wants him to see if Haven Point would be a good place to open a new plant there.
I liked how the community came out to help each other in many ways. They have been struggling to survive since Ben closed the boat yard business.
Haven Point Idaho sits on a lake with the Redemption mountains in the background.
I was excited to read another book about life in Haven Point. I hope more books that deal with Haven Point.
I was given this ebook from Net Galley and Harlequin. In return I agreed to give honest review of Redemption Bay.

My review: Cupcakery: Party-Perfect Cupcakes in a Flash by Toni Miller
5 STARS
I love all the ideas and pictures in this book. I want to eat them now. Too hot to bake right now.
The first part of the book teaches you lots of tricks to make better cupcakes even from mixes. I can see where in the past I made mistakes and what I was doing wrong.
She has the tools she likes and why. Where she buys certain things or what type of stores to look for the items. What ingredients that she likes to use quality brands and why she stays away from store brands on certain items.
These cupcakes are so creative. With different flavor combinations, for different themes. She tells you different ways you can display them, different ways she wraps them to go. There is so much information all through the book to help you make your cupcakes a thing of art.
She takes regular cake mixes and adds things to them to flavor, too add moisture, color to make them special and easier.
I can't decide which cupcakes I want to make first. I never thought of myself being able to add things in the center. Too be so creative with cupcakes.
This book would make a great present for a wedding shower gift, college or for young mothers. So many different occasions for those who like to be creative or for those who want to learn to be more creative.
I was given Cupcakery from Cedar Fort Publisher and in return agreed to give a honest review and be part of its blog tour.

My review: PAWSitively Sinister by Patricia Fry (A Klepto Cat Mystery Book 11)
4 stars
Pawstively Sinister is #11 in Klepto Cat mystery. It follows closely after book 10. It can stand alone but better if you have read the series in order. The same characters are back plus some new ones.
Lots of mysteries and discoveries happen to be found in Aurthur's mansion. While everyone is there to help during the estate sale. One mystery keeps coming after another as they look for answers. Of course Rags as a hand or should I say paw into everything. It keeps you guessing to the end.
This is a clean read with characters you want to see more of. I like that most of the characters want to help each other. While there are some disturbing things in this story, there is humor and good friends too.
The setting for the book is San Francisco, CA area.
I like how easy it is to draw yourself into the story. I find the characters to be like old friends that you want to catch up with each other, play with the baby and see what Rags steals next.
I was given Pawsitiely Sinister by the author to read and in exchange I agreed to give a honest review.
Lizzy and Diesel are back in an all-new wicked adventure from #1 New York Times bestselling author Janet Evanovich and Emmy Award–winning co-author Phoef Sutton.
Murdered and mummified nearly a century ago, notorious bootlegger Collier “Peg Leg” Dazzle discovered and re-hid a famous pirate's treasure somewhere along the coast of New England. A vast collection of gold and silver coins and precious gems, the bounty also contains the Stone of Avarice—the very item reluctant treasure seeker Lizzy Tucker and her partner, Diesel, have been enlisted to find. While Lizzy would just like to live a quiet, semi-normal life, Diesel is all about the hunt. And this hunt is going to require a genuine treasure map and a ship worthy of sailing the seven seas . . . or at least getting them from Salem Harbor to Maine.
Greed is eternal and insatiable, and Lizzy and Diesel aren't the only ones searching for the lost pirate's chest. People who have dedicated their entire lives to finding it are willing to commit murder or make a deal with the devil just to hold the fortune in their hands. One of those people may even be Wulf, Diesel's deceptively charming and enigmatic cousin. Wulf desires the Stone of Avarice. He also desires Lizzy. It's hard to say how far he's willing to go to gain either one.
Wicked Charms is a swashbuckling adventure full of raiders, monkeys, minions, and mayhem. Lizzy and Diesel are going to have to do everything they can to keep their heads above water and hope they're living a charmed life.
Series: Lizzy & Diesel (Book 3)
Hardcover: 320 pages

ISBN-13: 978-0553392715
My review: Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich, Phoef Sutton
4 Stars
Janet delivers another funny novel with the Lizzy & Diesel characters. Lots of banter between characters, destruction of property, magical people, all going after pirate treasure, cursed diamond and powerful stone.
Lizzy Tucker is a baker who adds a touch of magic to her bake goods. She is a seeker one of only two alive that can find the power stones. She is partnered with Diesel to find the stones before Wulf can.
They have to find eight pieces of silver coins that will with the help of treasure map lead to a famous diamond that will glow when it gets near the Stone of Avarice which is hidden with a pirate treasure worth millions.
Of course there are people searching for the pirate treasure that are willing to kidnap or kill to find it. Even Wulf and Diesel are willing to work together to keep the Stone of Avarice out of the wrong hands.
There is non stop action and drama as they race to find the stone and the treasure that is hidden of the East Coast.
I like this series. I look forward to the next one.
I was given Wicked Charms to read by Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine In return I agreed to give a honest review of Wicked Charms.

THE BOAT TO PRISON
Seventeen-year-old Sam Jenkins is busy fishing and falling in love
with a girl named Kate. But with a father involved with the union and a
divorced mother, Sam often finds himself acting like the adult of the
family. During a fishing trip off Long Island, Sam overhears a
conversation involving dangerous plans that can land his dad in jail.
To keep his father out of prison, Sam teams up with detectives from
the county’s rackets bureau and enlists the help of two friends to pull
off an operation far beyond their usual high school curriculum.
FAVORS
Police community Service Aide Liz Lopez should be in fine
spirits—she’s in line for a promotion to police officer and a raise. But
her sullen demeanor tells her boss, Lieutenant Sam Jenkins, that Liz is
anything but happy.
Jenkins begins an unofficial investigation to find out what’s going
on. The detective learns of a bizarre home life and a dark secret Liz
keeps under wraps.
FAVORS is a story of how the police take care of their own—in an honest and compassionate way.
ANGEL OF THE LORD
A killer is on the loose in Prospect, Tennessee. He strikes
repeatedly, each time leaving a cryptic message for the police to find.
By the time a fifth body turns up, Police Chief Sam Jenkins is under
pressure—either solve the murders or bring in outside help.
But the chief’s ego won’t allow others to work his cases. And at the
eleventh hour he tracks down a prime suspect, but death is only seconds
away for the next victim.
MASSACRE AT BIG BEAR CREEK
A misunderstanding between hunters rapidly escalates into a battle
not seen in Southern Appalachia since the Hatfield and McCoy feud.
As bodies pile up faster than evidence, Sam Jenkins and the officers
of Prospect PD scour the remote hills and valleys of East Tennessee and
North Carolina to solve a case that reads more like an old west
adventure than a modern police drama.
ODE TO WILLIE JOE
Prospect, Tennessee Police Chief Sam Jenkins receives two reports of
UFO sightings in three days. The gritty ex-New York detective doesn’t
believe in coincidence…or space aliens, but he can’t find anything to
explain a glowing spaceship and little green men—until he sends Sergeant
Stan Rose and Officer Junior Huskey to Campbell’s Woods. They call in a
startling discovery, and the investigation begins.

My review: From New York To The Smokies by Wayne Zurl ( Sam Jenkins msyteries)
4 STARS This is a collection of 5 short stories about Sam Jenkins. The first one starts out when he is only 17 years old in New York. They are from all different times in his life. They are Police procedurals mysteries.
If you are a fan of Sam Jenkins mysteries you will want to read these stories. If your new to them it is a good introduction to his life. Sam Jenkins is from New York and worked for years as a Police detective and then he retired and became Police Chief in Prospect, Tennessee. A big change for him.
Some of these are more mystery and others have you smiling. I like Sam. One thing I don't personally care for are the swearing. I know it does not bother some people. There is some violence but no sex scenes. These 5 stories can all be read alone. So if you just have time to read one of them and then have to wait till you can pick it up again it is easy to do. My favorite story is Ode to Willie Joe. It made me smile for part of the story. I also liked the Boat to Prison. Seeing a young 17 year old Sam doing the right thing. Also shows a more of his personal life. I was given From New York to the Smokies to read and in return agreed to give a honest review of it and be part of it's Virtual book tour.

My review: Killer Wedding Cake by Gayle Trent (Daphne Martin Mystery)
4 STARS
This is the first Daphne Martin mystery that I have read. It does a good job standing alone but makes me wish I have read the other mysteries. So I was not familiar with the other characters so the suspects were wide open to me.
Lots of drama, wedding plans, murder and good fun characters.
Daphne Martin is planning to get married to Ben Jacobs. She has not even chosen her wedding cake design yet. Her oven is not working and she has a big order to get done. Then her ex-husband who got out of prison for trying to kill her shows up.
Daphne is a baker out of her house. Her business Daphine's Delectable cakes. She is going to make her own wedding cake. Sells her cakes, cookies at local store. The brownies sound good to me.
Daphne has a bunch of friends that want to help her with all the trials she is going through right now. I like them. Would love to read more about them in the future.
The setting is Brea Ridge, VA

After the trauma of her previous event, the beautiful isle of Kauai is
the perfect place for Adri to unwind and do what she does best – plan.
She even lets herself indulge in the attention of the groom’s handsome
brother. But just when everything seems to be perfect, an afternoon
snorkeling trip turns to murder when Adri discovers the body of a young
woman.
Shaken, but unable to let it go, Adri’s sleuthing leads her into more
danger than she could imagine. When a number of “accidents” threaten her
own life, it soon becomes apparent that someone will do anything to
keep Adri from interfering with their vengeance.
My review: Veils and Vengeance by Rachelle J. Christensen
4 STARS
This is a clean cozy murder mystery. The story is full of romance, great scenery, craft ideas for weddings, suspense and mystery. I did guess some but missed on a lot too.
This is the second book in the Wedding Planner Mystery series. It can stand alone by itself but better if you read both I think.
Adrielle Pyper is a wedding planner who is planned a destination wedding in Hawaii. She has issues in her life about dating. Adrielle likes the grooms brother and agrees to go out with him. She also kinda likes a divorce attorney back home Luke. Luke is coming to the wedding too.
On her second day in Hawaii she finds a dead body while snorkeling. She can't stop thinking about the woman she found. Someone else is afraid of what she might have seen too.
Not everything is going okay with the wedding plans. Adrielle is even being threatened is she does not change some things.
Once I started reading Veils and Vengeance I did not want to put the book down. I want to see what happens next in some of the characters lives.
I was given this ebook to read so that I could give a honest review of Veils and Vengeance.

This is the first book in a new series. It is fun, light cozy mystery. I like the characters and want to see more of them and see them grow. The characters were a wide range. You did not know who they were or if they were crazy.
The mystery of the story was good. The suspect pool was small. Why was Holly being framed for the murder.
Holly Hart loved Fairview. She wanted to live in a small town. She is having a grand open for her business Just Cheesecake. She is having a bad day when her dog gets out of her new apartment and she chases him out in her P.J.s Meets a hot guy, finds a dead body in her new shop.
Holly is not sure who to trust. She looks crazy at times too. She tries to find out who the victim was and who wanted him dead. Holly gets into a lot of trouble.
I want to see more of the characters. If you want a good laugh with your mysteries you will want to read Holly Hart mystery.
I was given Footprints in the Frosting to read in exchange for a honest review and being part of it's blog tour.

It makes me want to go out deep sea fishing for the boat ride alone. I liked it. Lots of drama, romance and left me smiling.
THE PIER CHANGES EVERYTHING by Annette Lyon
This story is more emotional to me. I liked Alex and Michael. I could tell where the story had to be going early and that was okay to me. It touched on some heavy topics lightly in a good way.
Alexandria flew from Arizona to California on her 5th wedding anniversary to put her husbands ashes in the ocean.
Michael was at the beach in a suit saying good bye to former girlfriend.

Truman and Nellie have everything the kids want but attention from their parents. They miss their old Nanny but do give Jolie a chance to fit in. I really wanted to hug them.

I
first read this book on a road trip out loud to a friend. We both
loved the tips above the recipes, the pictures and that anyone can do
these recipes.
The first one I made was how she just
can defrost and cook frozen hamburger right in the crockpot. I will do
that again. I like all the fat that was left behind, how easy it was.
Next time I will double the amount of hamburger and freeze it ready for
next meal.
Now I want to try some of the soups but it
is a little too hot right now for soup. The carrot soup sounds
different I want to try it.
This has a good variety of
recipes for chicken, turkey, pork and beef. It also has some meatless
dishes, sides and even desserts.
Another recipe I want to make is mashed cauliflower.
These are healthier recipes with lots of flavor that I would make for my family.
One thing I like when making most of these dishes you don't have to heat up your house with the oven or stove.
I
was given The Healthy Family Slow Cooker Cookbook to read and in return
I agreed to give a honest review and be part of it's blog tour.
