Description
A wedding guest from her past…
After a rocky year, Casey Caravetta pulls herself together and puts on a smile for her best friend's Christmas Eve wedding. However, she hadn't expected to see Turner Kennedy, the first man to break her heart.
Special Forces commando Turner is now hard, dark and dangerous, tortured by his experiences of war. Coming face-to-face again with beautiful Casey is a painful reminder of the path he might have taken.
Back then they were living on borrowed time, but now—with a sprinkling of holiday magic—they have a another chance…if only they're prepared to believe it!
MY Review: Snowflakes and Silver Linings by Cara Colter

This is charming Christmas story. The characters are likeable and you want things for them to workout.
a little action but most of story is about relationships in the past and the now.
They are gathered together to get the Gingerbread Inn opening for the Christmas Eve wedding.
Casey has had a tough life. She is a scientist. She has decided to give up on love and have a baby by herself.
Turner job is top secret. He has been asked by his friend to help and since he was in the states he agreed. His last mission went bad. He has to make some choices now. He has not been sleeping well.
Years ago Turner and Casey had spent 3 days playing together. Turner had told her that he had only the three days to give her. He was deploying then and he could not tell her. Now is the first they have seen each other since that time. They both have changed.
I smiled at quite a few scenes in the story. Their is a cute dog and little girl that touch me.
This is a quick clean romance story.
I was given this ebook to read and asked in return to give honest review of it by NetGalley and Harlequin.

Yeah my daughter is coming home!
My daughter Rachel will fly into SLC airport tonight! Her mission is done. It has been 18 months since I have seen her.
Boy do I have a lot of books set aside for her to read. She reads more than me and faster. She has only read scriptures for last 18 months.
I am going to try and get her to review books she reads here. Don't know if she will.
I know in Jan she will be going back to the U of U for school. So hopefully I will have her for month of Dec. home.
She has not wanted to make plans while serving and teaching people in Spanish about Jesus Christ.
I am Proud of her, love her and have missed talking to her. I have enjoyed her email and letters though.
Can't wait for her to come off the plane!

Discovering incredible strength, speed, and enhanced physical senses that defy logic, Cassidy embarks on an action-packed adventure that has her fighting for answers…and for her very life.
My Review: Cassidy Jones and the Secret Formula
5 STARS
Cassidy is a teen age girl who through a accident her genes are changed and now she can do many things easy and heals fast.
What would you do if all of a sudden you were different. You were stronger and could smell scents from down the block? Would you tell your parents are someone else.
This is a fun entertaining story. It is full of fun characters, danger, action, teenage drama and comics. It is a clean read.
target audience is teenagers but anyone can enjoy it.
I was routing for Cassidy and for Emery to find his missing mother.
Emery is very smart. He is a teenager but has already graduated from college. He is a true friend to Cassidy. I do want to know more about his father in the future.
Cassidy emotions are being blasted along with her physical changes. Cassidy has two brothers. Her youngest is really into comic books and costumes. The other brother is her twin.
I have bought the second book in this series and can't wait to start reading it.
I was given this ebook to read for purpose of reviewing it. The opinions are all mine. Received the book from Netgalley.

Miz Scarlet and the Vanishing Visitor by Sara M. Barton
Miz Scarlet and the Vanishing Visitor
by Sara M. Barton
A pleasant night in Bay Head, NJ, unexpectedly turns dangerous as Scarlet Wilson heads for home after a delightful weekend at the Jersey Shore with boyfriend Kenny "Captain Peacock" Tolliver. A terrified teenager, chased by a homicidal maniac, clings to her car, refusing to let go of the moon roof. What do you do when a determined killer comes at the girl attached to your windshield, knife in hand? If you're Miz Scarlet, you get creative and put the pedal to the metal, even as the cars pile up in your wake.
That wild ride begins a journey of discovery for newly-orphaned Jenny Mulroney, the teenager who cared for her mother through her now-finished battle with cancer. The wicked stepfather has chased the girl out of her home and onto the road. Frightened and fending off unsavory characters with her wits, Jenny has no one to turn to and nowhere to go, until Miz Scarlet shows up and takes her home to the Four Acorns Inn, the family bed & breakfast she runs in Cheswick, CT.
While security expert Kenny delves into Jenny's secret past, searching for clues and the New Jersey State Police investigate a series of related crimes, the teenager begins to find her way again. Ready to start college with Miz Scarlet's help, busy earning her keep at the inn, Jenny's been less than honest about what happened before that crazed killer attacked. Now she's putting everyone in peril.
What does all this have to do with a bar of organic soap said to have healing powers? When uncut diamonds stolen in a heist turn up encased in lavender glycerine, it's more intrigue than Miz Scarlet can resist. With the help of the elderly "Googins girls", her brother Bur (better known as Colonel Grey Poupon), and Larry, the foxy female homicide investigator, the intrepid sleuth is hot on the trail, determined to solve the mystery. (Novella)
My Review: Miz Scarlet and the Vanishing Visitor by Sara M. Barton
4 STARS
I enjoyed this novella bringing back some familiar characters like Miz Scarlet and were loveable family and introducing some new characters that we learn more about them. Miz Scarlet and her brother are always throwing out insults back and forth that really seam like real relatives do. (especially noticed it reading the day after Thanksgiving with my family)Their is a lot of love with their family, friends and even guests of the bed and breakfast.
Most of the story happens in Cheswick, CT. at their Four Acorns Inn. The setting sounds nice.
The suspense is good and you are not sure who or what they were caught up in. Miz Scarlet was kept being told to leave it with the police but she could not stop trying to figure out who and why they were after Jenny.
The one thing I don't like about a lot of Sara M Barton's novels are their covers. It is surprising how covers even on a ebook matter too me.
My emotions were engaged into the characters. I found myself laughing, even some tears but most of the story I was smiling at the witty dialogue. Some of the characters nicknames are taken from the game Clue.
This has lot of drama, action, mystery and even romance. It is a clean entertaining mystery novella.
I got the ebook for free on Amazon.

Down Range by Lindsay McKenna (Shadow Warriors #2)
Description Down Range
Trained to kill, but built for love…
Captain Morgan Boland is at the top of her game, as is her former lover, Navy SEAL Jake Ramsey. Then a military computer selects them to partner in a special op. The mission can't be compromised by their personal history—and they have truckloads of it.
But the Afghan assignment might provide the discipline they need to finally get it together—outside the bedroom, that is. A lot has happened over the two years since they last went their separate ways. And there's way more to Morgan than Jake has ever given her credit for….
My Review: Down Range
5 STARS
Down Range just really hit the spot for me today. Their were strong characters, drama, romance, cute kid, trials in their past they had to work through. I cared about them. Their is a couple of love scenes that I skipped over too.
What pressure the black Ops for them and their family. Thank you military for all you do for our freedoms.
The setting for this book is Afghan village and up in the mountains for most of the book. It seemed real to me like I could see and smell it at times.
The pacing was good. I hated it when I had to put the book down. Things did not stay calm for too much of the time.
I look forward to reading more in the Shadow Warriors series. As a woman I want to think we can do anything but as a mother I don't want my girls in combat. But if I had boys I probably don't want them their either.
When they are in the Afghan village it seemed real. I take food for granted and all other luxuries we have compared to others.
Down Range is entertaining, informing and lets you catch a look at how others are living and some of their trials.
I look forward to reading more of Lindsay McKenna's books in the future.

A Cold Creek Christmas Surprise by Raeanne Thayne
Description
USA TODAY bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne brings readers back to the ranch for an emotional holiday visit with The Cowboys of Cold Creek
Hardened rancher Ridge Bowman has long told himself he has no need for love—just work and his little girl are enough to get him through. Only, Sarah isn't really there to work on his house. She came bearing precious artwork belonging to Ridge's late mother, and possibly a secret that could devastate them both. But as Christmas draws closer, so does Ridge—and Sarah convinces herself that she will tell him what she knows as soon as the holiday is over. She might be the key to his past—if only he could be a part of her future….
My Review: A Cold Creek Christmas Surprise
4 STARS
We finally find out what happened the night Bowmans died. This story has some real sweet Christmas moments in it. It also has some funny moments.
I like the Bowman family. This is Ridge Bowman story. He is the oldest of the brothers and sister. Ridge is a single father.
He takes care of the ranch. It is the day after his sister's wedding. He is expecting the cleaning company to clean up after the wedding.
So when a couple of hours late he is abrupt with Sarah and really does not give her a chance to say anything just tells her where the cleaning supplies are and to take care of the mess.
Sarah is not the cleaning lady. She decides to help anyway and then trips down the stairs. With a concussion and broken arm she can't stay in the motel. So Ridge brings her back. Sarah tries to stay at motel but no one listens to her. She has lots of secrets.
Sarah is not lucky with her family. She enjoys spending the Christmas with Ridge and his family. She knows if he only knew the whole truth about her she would not be welcomed their.
This is a clean romance. Cute kids and dog. Lots of snow and Christmas traditions. Has some suspense but mostly character driven. It is a fast read that makes you want to curl up and enjoy the fire. If I had one like the Bowmans.
I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by NetGalley and Harlequin.

Return of the Cowboy Doctor by Lacy Williams
Description
The Cowboy's Reluctant Sweetheart
Two years shy of his medical degree, cowboy Maxwell White is out of money. So, he's back in Bear Creek, wWyoming, working part-time for the local physician. Though he is immediately drawn to the doctor's lovely, whip-smart daughter, she seems to be irritated by Maxwell's very existence.
Hattie Powell can't quash her feelings for the town's new would-be doctor. But that's exactly why she must keep him at a distance. Hattie is closer than ever to fulfilling her lifelong wish of becoming a doctor. Now, the only thing standing in her way is the man of her dreams.
Wyoming Legacy: United by family, destined for love
My Reviews: Return of the Cowboy Doctor
4 STARS
This is charming. This is first of the series that I have read but not the last. I love Maxwell character and his big family.
Maxwell has two years of medical study and he returned home to earn money for the rest of his schooling. He cares but does not have a lot of confidence with young ladies.
Hattie wants to be a doctor too. Hattie has been helping her father for years. She is bright, strong and has some personal trials.
Their is a lot of characters that I would like to more about.
The setting 1897 Wyoming small town
The plot was really interesting with all the medical issues. It is not boring it keeps you in the story.
This is a clean uplifting story, with plenty of drama, relationships, some hijinks and poetry.
I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review by Harlequin and Netgalley.
