The Cowboy's Surprise Bride by Linda Ford

4 STARS

I enjoyed reading The Cowboy's Surprse Bride this sunday. I can really imangine the snowy winter scenes by looking out my windows.
It took a lot of bravery for Linette to come across the ocean to marry a man she did not know. She reached out along the way to help others and caring for them no matter what. Linette is a good example of caring for others.
Eddie had big plans to marry a girl he had seen before crossing the ocean to ranch in British terratories.(now Canada)He is surprised when a different woman gets off the stagecoach and plans to marry him. Before he is done he ends up with two women and a 4 year old orphan that is scared of him.
Eddie lives in a two bedroom cabin till he gets a more formal house finshed. So he gets to sleep on the kitchen floor while the women get his bed. He tells them they can stay till spring since the stage coach won't be able to take them anywhere till then.
Eddie knows his father won't want him to Marry Linette because he does not like her father.
Linette is willing to come to the wild west instead of marrying a older man who she finds disgusting. She wants to help others. She thinks that she can show Eddie how much she can be a good wife for him. Except she does not know how to cook and she keeps making lots of mistakes. Linette believes with Gods help anything is possible.
This is a nice romance story of settling in the west. How life might be like and the attidudes around that time. It is a very clean read.
I was given this ebook to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley.

A new life...in a new world.

Traveling to Canada’s Northwest Territories is a thrilling opportunity for Linette Edwards—and her chance to escape a dreaded marriage in England. She’s more than eager to accept Eddie Gardiner’s written invitation. How could she know that Eddie thinks he’s marrying not Linette, but her friend,
Margaret?

Eddie planned for a well-bred bride who’d help prove his worth to his father. Instead he’s saddled with a ragamuffin stranger and the little boy in her care. He’ll shelter them until springtime and no longer. But before the snow clears, his heart is thawing too…and hoping this makeshift family can find a permanent home together.
