Cozy mystery, Book 1 in the Caprice DeLuca home-stager mystery series

Caprice DeLuca stages houses for high-end clients. When she discovers a body in the castle-mansion she staged to sell and starts asking questions, she finds herself in danger. On the way to solving the murder, Caprice's large Italian family helps and hinders. She also finds romance with Dr. Seth Randolph. But does her brother's partner, attorney Grant Weatherford, care about her, too? Or is he just worried she'll get herself killed and her family will blame him?

  • My review: Staged to Death  (Caprice De Luca Mystery #1) by Karen Rose Smith

    4 STARS

I like this series.  I had read the third book Gilt by Association and liked it. So when I had the chance to pick up the first two ebooks I grabbed them while they were on sale.

Staged to death does not disappoint. I liked the characters, especially the DeLuca family.  lots of cute animals, good food, I loved the suspense and was kept guessing. This is also a clean read.

Caprice DeLuca stages houses to get them to sell quicker.  Her ideas were clever.  She is single,  does not trust men except her father.  She takes stray pets into her home till she finds them a new home.  She meets a new guy and a guy who she used to have a crush on gets more involved in her life again.

One of her clients husband is found murdered.  She is with the wife a old friend when she finds the body. She believes that Roz is innocent and takes her home with her.  While the police are focusing on her Caprice is determined to prove her innocent.

Kismet. PA  is a good sized town.
