Ghost in the Polka Dot Bikini (A Ghost of Granny Apples Mystery #2) by Sue Ann Jaffarian

4 STARS
I know that I have said in the past that the right cover helps me to decide which books to read. Even true of ebooks. That is one reason I have tried this series of books. Love the covers. Especially over the Odelia Grey series that are too written by Sue Ann Jaffarian.

This is the second book in A Ghost of Granny Apples Mystery series. I liked the first one and now after reading the second I am reading the 3 book soon.

I love the Ghosts in the series. Granny Apples is fun for being dead for generations. Also we get introduced to a starlet Tessa that died in the 60's but she doesn't really know she is dead. She is forever in a polka dot bikini. A painter who saw ghosts while she was alive. Their is also a angry ghost we meet.

Tessa has been waiting for Curtis to come back after he went to go get help for her 40 years ago. She left home to be in the movies and to see the ocean.
Emma wants to find out who Tessa was and who this mystery Curtis is. So she can cross over. She finds out that Tessa was in a movie her ex-father-in-law directed. So she asks him.
Emma and Phil are in a relationship but after their divorces they are taking time to get to know each other. They go to Catalina Island over Thanksgiving when both their children are with other people celebrating the holiday
Milo is helping Emma and Granny Apples to figure out how to help Tessa.
The drama is high when a new death occurs and a warning is spray painted on Emma's car. Even Grant Emma's ex-husband threatens her and push her into her car and it was filmed and shown all over the t.v.
I enjoyed reading the book and did not want to put it down till I finished it. I know I am going to start book #3 in the series soon. It is a clean read.
Description below taken off of Goodreads.
Imagine spending eternity with your backside hanging out--that's what Emma Whitecastle and Granny Apples can't help but think when they meet the ghost of Tessa North frolicking in the surf off Catalina Island. Tessa, a young starlet who died on the island in the 1960s wearing nothing but a polka dot bikini, won't cross over until "Curtis" comes for her. To help the winsome, bikini-clad spirit, Emma and Granny must find out who Curtis is and how Tessa died. Their investigation takes them from the grit and glamour of Hollywood to Kennedy-era political intrigue-before hitting dangerously close to home.

Along with a sprinkling of history, this spirited new mystery series features the amateur sleuth team of Emma Whitecastle and the spirit of her pie-baking great-great-great-grandmother, Granny Apples.

Praise: "Sue Ann Jaffarian never fails to make me chuckle."--Joanne Fluke, New York Times best-selling author of the Hannah Swensen Mysteries
