Two teen Authors,Kesmine Hickman & Wilson Hickman Two Mystery pet detectives, two Reviews, two books too Win

Meet The Darling Dog Detectives

ENJOY FAMILY FUN AS Mysteries Unravel With These lovable crafty canines

Five dogs and two kids have joined forces to create two delightful book series, each featuring daring dog detectives. Award-winning sibling authors, Kesmine Hickman, the 14-year-old writer of the Luna: Puppy Detective series, and Wilson Hickman, the 15-year-old writer of The Adventures of Detective Luke books, are taking the young author world by storm.

The Hickman children excel in school and regularly spend time writing and reading to each other. Taking inspiration from the family’s Shih Tzu, Kesmine and Wilson each wrote a children’s series based on canine detectives.

The Luna: Puppy Detective series revolves around Luna, a Shih Tzu sleuth who has a rather snooty view of the world, and her charmingly innocent and naive daughter, Leia. Together, they join forces with an unlikely feline friend, Creeper, and take their readers on hilarious, madcap adventures in Catnapped! and No-Slack Jack.

The Adventures of Detective Luke series features a witty Shih Tzu, Luke, and his two sons, Leo and Baron. This trio tackles the case of the Neighborhood Nuisance and The Disappearing Dog Bowl, all while facing numerous perils along the way. Together, these crime-busting canines mix humor, action, and adventure as they save the day and solve the mystery.

Entertaining and engaging, Luna: Puppy Detective and The Adventures of Detective Luke:
•Stand alone as complete books, allowing readers to enjoy each book independently
•Provide family friendly reading for all ages
•Inspire creative writing in young authors
•Offer hilarity and suspense throughout the canine whodunits
•Highlight moral messages while the mysteries unfold

“Kesmine and I exchange ideas daily and enjoy working together,” says Wilson. Kesmine adds, “We hope to encourage young aspiring authors to write about whatever inspires them.”

MY REVIEW: The Adventures of Detective Luke: The Disappearing Dog Bowl by Wilson Hickman

4 STARS

I admire writers and appreciate them, for where would we be without good stories. I was impressed by Wilson who is fourteen and wrote The Adventures of Detective Luke that kept me entertained with the whole book.

The mystery keeps you guessing till it's revealed with motive totally works. It is funny. The characters are mainly dogs of different types and personalities. They are likeable some smart, some dumb, some loud and some have really quite barks. What we as humans just hear obnoxious barking they are talking to each other in their own language.

Main character is Luke a Shih Tzu he thinks he is a very smart detective and his two sons. Luke has been asked to investigate another dogs stolen bowl. At same time his owners are dog sitting another dog who gets a lot of freedoms that he and his sons don't receive. He wants that dog out of his house.

I thinks others will enjoy Adventures of Detective Luke. Their is lots of mystery, dog chases, suspects of all species and even a car chase. Good clean fun book.

I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it when through by Netgalley & Smith Publicity.

MY REVIEW: No-Slack Jack Written and Illustrated by Kesmine G. Hickman

Puppy Detective Series #2

4 STARS

I am way impressed with Kesmine Hickman. Talented writer and artist together. Her book No-Slack Jack is funny, cute and full of mystery. I did guess part of it but not all of it. I wish I could tell a good story like her. Though one scene in the beginning almost lose my lunch, It was told very well. But that's just my gag reflux.

Her characters are cute, funny and some have a big ego. Makes you want to get a little Shih Tzu.
Luna is a 12 1bs Shih Tzu. She is Queen of her house. She thinks she is smart, brave and in charge. Her daughter is Leia. Who likes to sing made up songs and likes everyone. She is also raising a cat who is very polite and talented.

Her pictures are simple and get the scene across very well.
Her plot is well told and makes me laugh, smile and makes sense. I think kids of all ages can enjoy No-Slack Jack. I can see her writing and drawing will be only better and better in the future. I can't wait to see what she does next.

I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley & Smith Publicity.
