My review: A MEOWvelous Witness by Patricia Fry   (Klepto Cat Mystery Book 17)

4 stars

Nice cozy mystery.  This is the 17th book of the series.  It is a clean series. The core series has some of the same characters and I feel like it is a soap opera I want to see what they get up too next,

Savannah is a vet.  but now she is a stay at home mom with her little girl.  Her husband Michael is a vet. too.
So animals are a big part of their family.  Rags is a klepto cat.  The things he steals leads to clues to solve the crimes. I love what he steals last.  It was cute.

Savannah and her friends are always getting into trouble or finding dead bodies.

In A MEOWvelous Witness they decide to go on a horseback ride.  Savannah, Colbi the bride, Iris the groom's mother.  Savannah's Aunt Margaret decides she will meet them for a picnic instead of the horseback ride.  Colbi is all stressed about getting sick, married and work.  Savannah's plans don;t work out so well when her Aunt Maggie turns up missing.

Also when they get back for the night they also find out that Maggie had taken Rags and Dolly Colbi's cat on the picnic so there cats are missing too.

These are short easy fun books to read.  You can read them as stand alone books just fine but I like to read them best in order so you see what the characters are up too in order of their lives.

I was given this book for free in exchange for a honest review of A MEOWvelous Witness.

Cabin FURvor (A Klepto Cat Mystery Book 16) by Patricia Fry

Cabin FURvor (A Klepto Cat Mystery Book 16)A girls’ fun getaway weekend quickly becomes something that would rival any Fright Night flick. The women run into the infamous mountain monster, they’re visited by an escaped kidnap victim, and they’re privy to rumors of a deranged serial killer who may live secretly in their cabin. Just when Savannah, Aunt Margaret, and their two best friends think the worst is over, they make a grisly discovery that shakes up the mountain community. This thriller is also rich in hilarity and features plenty of cat action, as Rags and his tabby friend Dolly tag along on this fur-raising adventure.

My review: Cabin FURvor (A Klepto Cat Mystery Book 16) by Patricia Fry

4 stars

This is full of mystery, surprises,  and good humor.  Lot of familiar characters with some new ones thrown in to.
Rags is up to his old tricks.  He sure does get around for a house cat.  Rags likes to take things and find clues to crimes too.

Iris Sledge is having a birthday and wants a girl's weekend at her husband rustic cabin out in the middle by itself.  Iris is turning 60.
Maggie is a few months younger.
Savannah is a Vet and owner of Rags. and Maggie's niece. Colbi is going to be Iris's daughter-in-law. She also brought her catT Dolly. They get no cell service and have to row across to get service.
The four get frightened when they find out about the history of the cabin and the murder that is blamed on Amos Sledge.

reading this reminded me as the fun time we had at a old cabin and got scared telling stories at night.  I can see the four of them freaking out.  But were brave to row across a lake at night time.  I don/t know what I would do both options sound scary.

This is a cute fun series.  A clean read too.

Cabin Furvor is the 16th book in the series.  It cab be read by itself. I like to read them in order just because the core characters lives unfold.  but I have also skipped a couple of books and have been able to pick up on the story just find.

I was given this ebook for free by author and in return agreed to give honest review of Cabin Furvor.

It introduces a whole new bunch of new Coltons and a new mystery.  Good start and ending.

When Josie and ranch forman Tanner Grange start to go find the old watch.  Her cousin's disappears and a trail of blood leads out the window.  Lots of suspects.

Josie is asked by the sheriff to stay around for awhile.  When she heads to find the first clue someone steps out and shoots Josie.

Lots of drama, characters, mystery with charming twin girls that brings smiles to everyone.  There is one love scene.

Good suspense! Lots of drama, romance and action. Clean read.  I was able to figure out who the guilty person early and his motive for it.

Gwen Harwell is out taking pictures when she catches a guy throwing a body into a river.  She runs away but gets shot. She has built a good life after she left her husband.  She is keeping big secret from him.

Dean Harwell is giving a trail ride when he sees a masked man chase and shoot a woman in parking lot.  He is surprised when it turns out to be his ex-wife.  Dean wants another chance with her. He has changed from the bad habits he used to have.

There are lots of twists, as they try to figure out who is after Gwen and why.

Deals with forgiveness and how drinking can destroy a person.

I would read another book in the Smoky Mountain secrets series.

Did not want to put book down till I finished it.  Easy fast entertaining read.

Molly Langley is a widow after two years of marriage.  She offers to help her friends husband with the twins for awhile.  She agrees to keep helping to take care of them for CJ.  Molly has moved back to her family ranch, which is close to CJ place,  Molly has secrets about her marriage that leave her sad and not planning to get married again.

Ruthless The Faces of Evil Series: Book 6 by Debra Webb

He has a ruthless past . . . Three photos of three unknown women. Sent to Deputy Chief Jess Harris by the Player, one of the world's most sadistic killers. The Player is taunting her, and Jess is more than ready to take on his challenge. Only one thing could distract her from the Player's deadly game: the appearance of a clue to long-unsolved cases. For years Birmingham's children were vanishing-one per year, always on a full moon-until the disappearances stopped and the Man in the Moon case went cold. No leads on the children were ever found-until now.

Jess has no choice but to pursue the case. Someone is reaching out to her, sending her mementos of the missing children, and the citizens of Birmingham deserve justice. But after years of silence, has the Man in the Moon really resurfaced? Or is he just another pawn in the Player's game?

My review: Ruthless The Faces of Evil Series: Book 6  by Debra Webb

5 Stars

I am totally into this series of books.  Ruthless  is good. tension was good, the drama, characters.  I did not want to put the book down.  I have also bought the rest of the series to read next.

The faces of evil series is a soap opera, small town feel following the characters in there relationships while they try and solve serial killers, kidnappers and other cases.  Jess Harris is the main character.  She is the new Deputy Chief of Special Unit Police in her home town of Birmingham.  She has not lived there for twenty years.  Her boss Police Chief Dan Burnett is also her ex-fiance of two decades ago. People are watching and judging them.

Jess had solved some big cases the month she has been back.  She also has a serial killer who she identified but got away taunting her,  sending her messages.  Jess has only been back home a month.  She has left the FBI recently divorced.

These books follow each other and so far in the six book has only covered about a month.  Each one deals with a emotion as a motive of evil.

Ruthless is about a old serial kidnapping that for twenty years in a row A child was kidnapped and taken with no clues. He got the nickname The Man in the Moon.  He stopped for the past decade or so, but now he is sending Jess packages of the bones of each of the girls and asking her to find him.

This series has a darker feel to it.  Fighting these evil men.  There is plenty of drama, suspense,  characters that I love and enjoy seeing there relationships grow.  There is some romances building between a few couples. a couple of love scenes.  Lots of mystery,  Cant wait to start the next book.

I was given an ARC to read for free in exchange for a honest review of Ruthless.
