Cavanaugh Strong by Marie Ferrarella (Cavanaugh Justice #28)

Description

Aurora's finest are back in action!

Why are too many healthy seniors dying in nursing homes? Vice detective Noelle O'Banyon can't let the mystery go. And though she has no business working a homicide case, the love-shy single mom draws partner Duncan Cavanaugh into her rogue investigation. He's a notorious player she thoroughly disdains—and the feeling's mutual.

Duncan considers Noelle too straightlaced for his taste. But as they uncover the shocking scandal behind the mysterious deaths, the crime-fighting pair become closer—and passionately in sync. Now, before a killer stops their bliss, can he and Noelle prevent the next murder in Aurora?

My review: Cavanaugh Strong by Marie Ferrarella (Cavanaugh Justice #28)

3 STARS

There are a lot of Cavanaughs. I have not read any for along time if at all. I was still laughing at and where they were popping up at. So I think if you have been reading the series you will like it. I did feel a little lost at times but was minor.

Noelle O'Benyon has been a detective for six months. She has had two fiancés that have died on her. I did not catch how they died. Her partner is Duncan Cavanaugh. She has a little girl. Her grandma raised her.

Duncan has relatives all over in law enforcement. He dates around. Never having too along a relationship.

Noelle's grandmother has had two friends die lately. They were both alone and in good health. They both have taken out life insurance in the last two years. Noelle thinks it is weird and starts to question it. Duncan has her back and uses his connections to get some answers.

There are a lot of characters which is fun but you don't get time to really get to know any of them. Like Noelle's daughter don't see much of her. I would have liked a longer book and more depth and questions answered.

They do a good job for the type of book it is. Makes me want to go read the other 27 books in the series.

The characters are likable.

The setting is around San Fransico Bay area.

It makes you smile at times, but the crimes are not that part of the book. They do have a couple of love scenes that I skipped over. Lots of drama as they see if their really is murder and fraud going on.

I was given this ebook to read and in return agreed to give a honest review of the book. Received it through Net Galley and Harlequin.
