Review: Marrying the Major by Victoria Bylin

5 STARS
I enjoyed reading Marrying the Major. It was a clean romance with humor. I liked how Caroline Bradley faced up to her fears, she was very independant.  Caroline loves children and she did not think at this late that she would remarry and have a family.  So she was going to be a nanny and borrow children to mother.  Caroline has some fears but she is also strong minded.
Major Tristan Willoughby Smith was a major in the British Army.  He is a widower with two small children living on a ranch in Wyoming.  Tristan wife died of Malaria and he has had it off and on for months. Tristan is also the third son of a Duke who does not want his kids to be raised by his father if he dies.
Miss Elizabeth Bradley is a nurse that Tristan also hired to take care of him.  She is the older sister and never been married.
Tristan has been waiting days for the stage that the sisters are on plus his quinine medicine that he needs.  He found that the bridge is out and  Jonathan Tate and the major ride out to see if they can find the stage. Find the ladies and his medicine.
He finds them when Caroline steps out pointing a gun at him.  They have their first disagreement than.
It is good to see how Caroline cares for the children even when its not how the Major thinks it should be. Caroline helps the Major to get closer to his children. Caroline has to learn to get over her fear of horses and how to be the future wife of a Duke and how to stand up to the Duke and his pears when they visit them at their ranch.
I would love to go read the other books in The Women of Swan's Nest. This is the last of the series but the first I have read.  I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review by Netgalley.

Review: Haunted on Boubon Street by Deanna Chase

4 STARS
A good book to read the day before Halloween.  A good ghost or two haunting two ladies.
Jade had just moved from Idaho to the French Quarters in New Orleans.  She is teaching how to make glass beads. She sales them on the internet and got a job waitressing at a coffee shop part time to make ends meet.
Her boss is Pyper. Pyper partner is Kane and he owns the building and the strip club next door.
Pyper is also being haunted,  Pyper still strips when they are short but mostly she manages the strip club and cafe.
There is pleanty of connections to each other in the story and more connections wanting to be made. Kane is eyeing Pyper but he is close with business partner Pyper. Jade can't keep her eyes off Kane.  Their is Ian who is trying to gather evidence of the ghost.  Pyper ex from Idaho is now in New Orleans living with Pyper best friend Kat.
This has lots of characters that you want to know more about and what their talents they have. The title also has book one so maybe their is more to come or even here.  If so I would like to read it. I was given this ebook in exchange for honest review.

Review: Barbary Point by Alan Nayes

4 Stars  story 5 Stars on emotions
This is the second book I have read today this was shorter, simpler but I cried a lot of tears reading this story. I was definetly connected to this story.
Kelly was very sucessful and happy with her life.  She was manager of Magazine and engaged to the Owner. Then she got a call that her dad had died and left everything to her. Kelly had not seen her father or  heard from him since she was three.
Kelly flies into town plans to sign papers and leave that same weekend but she found out a little about her dad and somethings about herself.
Like I said its short only 130 pages but it packs a punch, Its romance with fishing and lake Winnebago. I enjoyed it except for my crying.

Review: Beauty and the Werewolf by Mercedes Lackey

4 STARS
I liked Bella and how she thought, did not give up. When I first reading I thought it was a version of Cinderella then red riding hood or Beauty & the Beast. It makes sense when you get into the book why it had different bits of different fairy tales.
Bella has a step mother and two younger step sisters. Her father is a business man. Bella has run the house since she was 10. She is very intelligent and likes to care for others. She is learning about healing plants from her Grandmother in the woods.
Bella gets taken and made to stay with the Duke Sebastian for at least three months. She is upset but makes the best of it and doesn't mind telling the Duke or others off. Bella finds ways to make herself useful and learns a lot of new skills.
I don't want to ruin the story surprises by saying to munch but did enjoy them. The story keeps my attention and would read more books from Mercedes Lackey. I was given this ebook to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley.

Review: Heart of a Killer by Jaci Burton

4 STARS
Last night did not want to put book down by 1:00 AM had hard time keeping awake, so I cheated and went and read the last chapter than I could sleep and not think this guys bad oh maybe this is what happens.  Than first thing this morning read the rest of the whole book.  Still not guessing all of it even though I knew ending. So it has a lot of suspense, mystery that keep you guessing all the way to through.
The story opens with Anna Pallino just closing the ice cream parlor she works
at. Anna is 16 and her boyfriend Dante not quite 18 comes in as usual with his 3 foster brothers to get ice cream. Some happens and Dante leaves that night and disappears.
12 years later he is back because foster mom Elene asks him to come for her 25th wedding anniversey.  Dante has only kept in touch with his foster parents not even asking any questions about his brothers or Anna.
Dante. Gabe, Roman and Jeff had been best friends and foster brothers till that night.
Now that he is back a crime has happened  at the same place just like it had that night. Dante has a lot of secrets and does not tell anyone where or what he has been up too the last  12 years.
Anne is now a police detective in charge of the scene. But they never reported about the crime 12 years ago. She still has panick attacks and hides them from everyone.
Roman is a cop too. Gabe is now working for the  Mob rides a motorcycle  with lots of  tatoos. He left the same night as Dante been back 2 years. and Jeff is a insurance agent. They all are still protective of Anna
I hope Gabe gets his own book and we learn more about him later.
The Characters are good and you care about them and want to know a bunch more of their lives. It is emotional and I cried a few places.  It is good story their is some love scenes and viloence.  But it keeps keeping you on edge.

Review:Tricks of the Trade by laura Anne Gilman

This is the third book in the Paranormal Scene Investigations. The first one I have read but not the last one. They mention other cases in this story which I assume is in the other two books. Their is another series of books called Retrievers and they mention Wren and we meet her in this book. I want to read at least one of that series too.
Bonnie Torres is a talent in fact all the investigators are talent. Bonnie and one of her bosses are fighting what they call merge. Their talent is drawn together and wants them to get together and have offspring. It is rare and they are finding more all the time. They have walls around them in their minds so they don't keep getting what the other is doing or feeling most of the time.
Bonnie likes guys and girls and wants uncomplicated relations. In fact her and Piers sleep together on casual basis. Getting involved with the boss is not what she wants or him either.
They call the two Bosses Top Dogs and they all are pups. They are like P.I. firm that works to find facts about talent so they can be held accountable.
One case is from a null a human nontalent and that he thinks a talent broke in his house to damage two rooms and take a watch and crystal knife.
The other case is a floater that NYC cops called them in to figure out.  The dead body is not human and in fact they are not sure what he is at first.
They have refined their talents with practice on how they can help find out more from the evidence using their skills together or alone.
The interactions of the Pups and Top Dogs I really like the characters and how involved they are and what we learn about them and their worlds. The cases are solved and their are a few other problems that come up. But it is their working so well and it comes across to each other.
I liked the story. I was given this ebook in exchange for honest review.

Review: Measure of Darkness by Chris Jordan

5 STARS
It was a well plotted book, with a whole team set in place to work behind the scenes to help when authorities can't. I don't know if their have been books before with this group but I can see where many more can come from it. I will read more from Chris Jordan if I get the chance.
A little boy named Joey who is 5 year old genuis with music is kidnapped.  His father is a genuis in his field but socially does not work well with others. He has been murdered and the chief suspect is his own P.I. Randall Shane former FBI agent.  When his wife and daughter were killed in car wreck he left the FBI and started to find missing kids. 70% of his work is for free.
Shane knew he was being framed when he found the dead body and his gun was missing. He called friend Jack Delancey who was working for Naomi Nantz.
Naomi lives in a mansion and remembers everything she reads. She is in charge but we never know who their backer is that provides the mansion and the money and connections to get things done. Alice Crane is recording secretary and chief factotum. She is the voice of the story.  Mrs. Beasley is the cook of considerable talent. Teddy Boyle is computer guru between 16-21 age. Dane is their lawyer who vets all the cases first except this one. Jack although has room in mansion he does not live their only stays when he is working in the area. Dane has place a few blocks away and the rest live in.
So Jack brings his friend Shane into the mansion in the trunk of the car and he is explaining about the frame of murder he is sure to be arrested on and about Joey being kidnapped when their is explosion  and wall of office is blown men in milatary black on ropes from helicopter scoop in and in two minutes has Shane shot with dart and leave without a word.
So their first thing is to find out about Joey and rescue him.  Find Shane and rescue him and find out if he is innocent.  Find the murderer of Joseph Keener, MIT Collage professor and scientist.  Who is running the black Ops that crashed into the mansion and took Shane.
Because Joseph is shy and doesn't interact much no one really knows he has a son. That the son is missing.
Their are a lot of facts and information that they dig out to find the answers to the questions that they have. Lot of spy stuff, lots of different agencies. lot of action and not a romance in sight which is different for me from Harlequin. Their is torture of Shane and others. Lot of good guys and gals. Their is also more bad and greedy people.  Not all the ends are nicely tied up which is what happens in the real world but the ending does not disapoint. Did not want to put the book down and it was a problem at 425 pages had to a few times.
Hope their are many more cases with Naomi and friends.

Review: Midsummer Night's Sin by Kasey Michaels

It was a good story though the mystery part I figured out real early on in the story. Regina was on her first season of the ton.  She knew her father wanted her to marry her off to at least a Duke.   Her father Reginald Hackett was into shipping and made a fortune.  In fact he bought his wife who is lady Leticia her family had the social standings but not the money to pay his debts.  He thought Regina marriage should advance him even farther.
Miranda her cousin was at her second season.  Her Aunt Clair was taking both Miranda her daughter Regina around. Reginald was paying the expenses for both households. Regina mother was always drinking to hard to take her into society.
Miranda planned with her maid, costumes and stole her brothers invitation to a masquarde ball. Then told her mother that the Aunt was taking them to a recital.
Then they went to the ball Regina said only an hour, but gave into Miranda.
Regina was asked to dance and she did and went out in the gardens with Robin Goodfellow (Puck).  Not knowing that the only women there were actresses and other  Ladies not known for their innocence.
When Puck realized how innocent Regina was he warned her off.  When Regina looked for her cousin she could not find her. Puck ended up looking with her and Regina saw a lot even her father in a bad way.  Puck found Miranda mask and cape and found where she was taken from.
Their had been a lot of small blond women abducted lately. Regina felt it was part her fault for going with Miranda. She got Puck to let her help find her cousin.
Puck also realized his brother Black Jack who worked for the crown was also looking for all the women that have been missing the last few weeks.
It kept my interest in the book going. I was given this ebook in exchange for honest review.

review:Ecstasy Untamed by Pamela Palmer

4 1/2 stars
This book is the 6th in the series, but the first one I have read. I want to now read the first 5. I liked most of the characters really one I did not like but he was evil.
Faith is imortal but she can die. She was born in Belgium before the world war 1. She looks like a teenager, blue hair and all.  Faith realized long ago how many teens are out their lost on the streets, needed help.  She right now is trying to work to save two girls age 13, & 15 who no fault of their own are prostitutes.  When she runs into Maxim.  They feel a bond right away and think they are mates. Maxim is the new feral warrior and he is leaving poland for US tommorow.
When Faith and Maxim arrive at feral house and meet the other warriors, Faith is drawn to Hawk.  Maxim does not fit in, in fact he offends most of his brother warriors.
Hawk is wounded badly and has lost control of his animal side and if he doesn't get back he will die. Hawk is drawn to Faith too.
The Warriors protect the world against evil daemons and the mage.
Their are a lot of sex scenes that I wish were not their.
Very well drawn characters and world. I liked the story and wanted to read more. I was given this ebook in exchange of honest review.

Review: Kelsey's Song by Lanie Kincaid

4 STARS
  • I enjoyed Kelsey Song but I was ready for it to end a little sooner, don't know if it was because I was tired or something else. Also by the discription I actually thought Andie was a demon child for real not a troubled child.
  • Kelsey is a mother of two children Allie 4 and daniel 6 and lives in Nashville.  She moved there from D.C. after her Andy died and her mother also passed away. Kelsey also worked from  home doing Loans for people.
  • While shopping at Target she saw Andie throwing a fit saying she did not want new clothes and he was not her father.  Andie had messy hair, dirty face and way to small clothes.  J.D. was looking desperate trying to get Andie to pick out clothes. Kelsey stepped in and got Andie to try on the same outfit that Allie was going to try on. Kelsey than told J.D. what size to get her and what else she needed.
  • Turns out that J.D. just found out he was a father to Andie age 5 after her mother died and had moved into the condos right behind Kelsey's house.
  • Kelsey kept teaching J.D. how to be a father and traded babysitting with him. It helped Kelsey out of the depression she had fallen into after the deaths in her family.  Andie behaved so much better for Kelsey and all three kids got along great. Kelsey is at heart a care giver and she mothered everyone in J.D.'s band and became part of the group behind the scenes or as she told them their first groupie.
  • I liked seeing how together they all were flourshing so much better than they were on their own. Can't wait to read more books in the Wilder series.

Review: Only yours by Susan Mallory

4 STAR S
Only yours had you on a rollercoaster of emotions.  Montana is the youngest
of triplets.  She works with therapy dogs. She takes them to hospital s, care centers and even to a library to help kids with reading.  Montana was walking a dog that was not going to work out as a therapy dog.  He got loose from her and got into a hospital on his own and knocked over a Dr. in the burn unit.
Dr. Simon Bradley got angry and yelled at her.  Montana said words back and left.
Kalinda is a little girl in the burn unit and was in a lot of pain and doped up butt she heard the dog and asked if she could see him.  Dr. Simon Bradley was in fool gold for a few months doing surgery and helping burn victims He goes all over the world working a few months at different hospitals a lot in third world countries. His life is his patients.  He spent 4 years in hospitals healing from his own burns.  So  Dr. Simon told Kalinda he would see about getting a dog into visit her.
Montana had the mayor ask her to try and get Dr. Bradley to stay in their town and work in the new hospital.  Montana and Simon kept running into each other. Simon has never been so attracted to anyone before. He is a great Dr. but social skills he does not have.  When he sees her sisters Dakota and Navada he is not attracted to them even though they are identical.
The patients in the burn unit are tugging on emotions. You get involved with all the characters and I want to read more about them. I can see their are more books about the town that has lot of women and few men thats now changing.
I enjoyed watching Simon and Montana falling in love and seeing Simon opening up. Liked the dogs made me want to get one even though their is one on my bed and one in the other room.

Review: In Session by M.J. Rose

5STARS
What a clever book. Taking characters from different writers interacting with each other characters. On top of that the money goes to a charity Wish you well foundation of David Baldacci. It supports family literacy.
Which I think is a great idea.
Lee Child and Barry Eisler were chatting about Lee's Jack Reacher versus Barry's John Rain. Than M.J. Rose jumped in and said her Dr. Snow would like to shrink them.  Later she asked Steve Berry's about his Cotton Malone character too.
Dr. Snow runs into the characters at different places and shrinks them and it all works out. She meets Cotton Malone at his book store.  Dr. Snow asks to meet John Rain in the park.  Dr. Snow is in her office when she meets Jack Reacher but a bomb just went off and he  climbed in to help. I liked all 3 short stories and would love to read more about them. I will look out for their books in the future.

Review: Cast in Ruins by Michelle Sagara

4 STARS  MAYBE 5 STARS if I had read the rest.

Cast in Ruins is the seventh book in the series and I have not read any of them before. I feel quite lost trying to figure out the different spieces, Who are the leaders,  Who are good guys and bad guys. What magic exists. I would not recommend starting this series with book 7. Kaylin Neyas is a private on their police force.
It took a long time for me to figure out everything I good understand.  I wish I had the time and money to buy and read the first 6 books. I am sure I would have loved the story.
I will look for the past books and read future ones. They were complex world who I loved to learn about.
Kaylin has her work with the Hawks and as chosen is called away to the fife to look into the deaths of 7 identical women. No one can see why they died and who they were. Servern is her partner in this case.
Kaylin before seeing to the case ends up in a battle at the borders with the shadows. She takes control of the one who is fighting her people against his will and gives her his sword which shrinks down to fit her.
Kaylin is also taking lessons from Lord Diarmat ln court manners. Diarmat is one of the dragons and does not care for her.  She also learns from Lord Sanabalis another court Dragon Who does likes her. Lord Tiamares is over the fife and is considered a  young dragon. The tower where he lives and protects from avatar is Tara who can read minds in her tower.  The people love her but are scared of dragons.
Arkon is a dragon over the library and gets involved with Kaylin case he is over the other 3 dragons but under the emperror.  Their is one more dragon that is known as outcast and he his the bad guy and controls the shadows.
When Kaylin begins her case it is easier to follow what is happening. Like what I did understand.

I think this will be a good and different series to read. I enjoyed reading the first one.
Their are 4 archangels,  Michael,  Gabriel, Uriel and Azrael, that were the most favorite and The Old Man created for them 4 soul mates but before they could meet the 4 archness soulmate were cast down and the 4 archangels followed them and have been searching for thousands of years. with only some of their powers left to them. They did not come alone to search for them.
Michael warrior angel now policeman in NYC
Gabriel messenger angel now fireman in NYC
Uriel angel of vengence Movie star
Azrael angel of death, now the first vampire Singer
Samael the fallen media mogul now
Ellie works in a bookstore that Christopher Daniels (Uriel) was signing at today a novel written about his blockbuster movie.  He reconginezed her right away and could hardly believe he finally found her.
Ellie was 25 she was home schooled because she had powers of healing and over the weather that came out and her parents were scared someone would take advantage of her.  In fact they did have to run a few times and it was very close. Ellie did not know why and who were after her.  The last thing she wanted was to be in the spotlight and for people to watch her.
Sameal wanted a archness himself he was planning to suduce her and made a bargain with Uriel to win her if he did than Sameal would leave her alone. If Sameal won her favor than Uriel would have to be his servant forever. If Uriel did not make the deal Sameal would kill her. Of course their were hidden clause in the contract.
Their are twists and turns into the book that i kept being surprised with. did not want to put the book down till I finshed it.  Was a nice size of book and look forward to more stories about the other 3 archangels.

Review:The lady's Maid by Susan Page Davis

4 STARS
The Lady's Maid is well worth the time to read. It is adventours, western and romance in one. I hope their is a follow up book to see what happens next.
Lady Anne Stone's father died and her mother years ago. She is left a small income but cannot keep the house and servants on it. She had two Uncles that would be in line for her fathers fortune and title. One uncle died last year and the youngest one David went to America 20 years ago.  David would inherit but no one has heard from him in the past decade.
Lady Anne decided her and her maid Elsie Finster would travel to America and find him.
Elsie has been with the family for years and agrees to travel with her. Elsie has been her maid for years. Elsie at 40 years old and never been married.  Anne is 20 and a very sheltered.  She suffered from sea sickness the whole voyage.  So when they heard her uncle might have gone to Oregon she did not want to take a boat their.  So they decided not to let on that Anne came from money and title. They would travel with wagon train as friends.
Someone had followed them from New York to St. Louis.  The man they hired to drive the wagon train was spying on them.
Elsie and Anne had no idea how to cook on fire or drive the wagons but they were learning  and willing to learn to be more independant on the trip.
Lot of young men on the wagon train were interested in Anne but she tried to treat them all the same.
The scoutt E.B. did not want to ladies on the train especially those two greenhorns but he
 got close to Elsie.
I really enjoyed watching Elsie and Anne to see how they grew and changed on the way west. Would like to know more about end of the journey. Was not ready to see them go.

Review: Witches on Parole by Debora Geary

5 STARS
I really like her stories. How their is so many characters who we get to see again in each book. A lot of the characters we see are back in new way.  Plus we get to meet two new characters,Lizzard shows up for training at 2:00 am a couple of days early.  Lizzard has a mind of her own, she is a mind witch. She had a choice of prison or witchlight community service.  She is smart, good cook has lots of tattoos  and piercings.
Elsie is a good psychologist but she is dealing with a lot of stress so she took off 3 months to do community service with witchlight.  She is a know-it-all, uptight person thats hard to connect to others.  She refuses to be tested by Jamie.  She thinks she is earth witch. Jamie thinks she is also  a fire witch.
This is Aunt Jenny's first time with training for witchlight.  She figures she will get Nat to have Elsie work with her in her joga classes and Lauren to work with Lizzard in her real estate office and help build up her selfesteem.
Its fun to see Elsie and Lizzard meeting and being made part of the community. They make mistakes along the way and make lot of new friends.
really enjoy this series of books and look for more to come out.

Emma Sharpe is a different Heroin.  She is a FBI Agent with a special unit. Her family is known as art detectives, finding stolen art and returning it to right owners. Em ma worked for her family in the Irish office with her grandfather. Before that she was getting ready to be a Nun.  I like Emma she is smart, cares about others and determined to find out who killed the nun and why did the nun really call Emma to come to the Convent and look at a picture.
Colin Donovan is on vaction from his undercover job for the FBI.  When his friend Father Bracken asks him to look into the murder of Sister Joan. Who's body was found by FBI agent Emma.
The mystery is who killed the Sister Joan and why did she call Emma?  Why did she not tell any of the other sisters especially Mother Lindon. Is a painting missing?
I was involved in the story waiting to see who the killer was. What was missing. I am glad their is going to be another book with Emma and
Colin. I want to read it too.
Their seems to be a lot of connections to the Maine coast small towns and Ireland. Father Bracken is on a exchange for a year to Maine while the Father he replaced is over to Ireland for a year. Sharpes has an office in Ireland and main office in Maine. Colin has been on a case to Ireland. Few others had been their too.

Boy I wish the doctors told me to eat ice cream daily and gain weight.  Posey Osterhagen was told that in high school.  Posey was adopted and was 5.2, dark hair and skinny underweight. Both parents were tall and heavey set blond German. Posey had her own business  architectural salvaging and lived in an old church. She was single had great friends. loving family. In high school had crush on bad boy Liam.
Liam and his 15 year old daughter Nicole just moved back to town so she could be closer to her grandparents. Emma had died of cancer 2 years ago.
Liam was opening a motorcycle custom orders. When Nicole was with her grandparents Posey & Liam started dating in secret.
It was a good romance book.  Posey really thought she new things from back in high school but she only new half the story.  I like that Posey had a different career.  Most of all loved how all the characters related to each other. Posy had strong friendships in her life. I want to read more books from Kristan. I was given this ebook to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley.

Review: Last Chance Cowboy by Cathy McDavid

5 STARS
It was an engaging story. I would love to read and see what happens in Ethan's story.
Gavin's Family has been ranching in Mustang Valley for generations.  They had to sell the land to pay for Gavin's mom heart transplant.  Unfortuneately her body rejected it and died soon. Since they lost most of the land they had turned to riding school. Gavin has a new partner Dan and they plan to trap a wild mustang and breed him.  He contacted the BLM but they did not believe it to be a wild mustang.
Gavin's daughter had just started to live with him for the first time and they were not adjusting too well.  Cassie loved the horses and her puppy went everywhere with her. She did not know her father too well he could only afford to travel back east every 3 years. Her mom got remarried and had a new baby but Cassie did not get along with her stepdad. Did not want to live in boarding school so it was her idea to try living with her dad. Gavin was happy to have her.
Ethan was home from the milatary with a missing leg and was still adjusting to it. He can shoe horses and train them.
Gavin's dad still lived at the ranch but he still was depressed and not involved with anything.
Sage showed up at the ranch from the BLM to bring in the mustang. No one let Gavin know.  Without someone from the BLM they could not get the wild mustang.
Sage did not think their would be a problem adoptting the horse and her boss agreed. Sage also in the area to try and serve her ex with child support papers. He kept moving and had not paid any for the last 4 years.
Dan demanded for the first time to test and make sure he was the father and had no interest in Isa a 6 years old. Dan was also Gavin's new partner. Dan did not want Sage on the ranch except to trap the Wild Mustang. They were going to do it the old way on horse back.
I loved the horses. Cassie how good she was with Isa.  Teaching her how to ride and how when Cassie rode she even took her puppy with her in her jacket. They all had to overcome problems. Hated Dan loved everyone else though.

Review:Case of the Missing Deed by Ellen Schwartz

5 STARS
It was amazing how all the peices of the puzzle fit together.  It was exciting to see who the bad guys were.  If the kids would find all the clues and put them together. Case of Missing Deed was a book I did not want to put down. I enjoyed how the grandkids worried about their grandma and tried to make a difference.
Tantalus mining company wanted to put a mine an ore found on their island.  They wanted to buy their Grandparents home. They also said," If you don't sell and have proof of the deed their land goes back to goverment. Grandpa did not trust saftey boxes in banks and loved puzzles. He was fighting cancer so he hid clues  to where something was. The two families came each summer and spent time with their Grandparents but this year was different Grandpa had died and Grandma was so afraid she would loose their home she taken to her bed and was really skinny.
Grandma always loved to cook so the children thought if they asked her to cook somthing that would get her out of bed. That plan did not work so the next plan was to cook her favorite dish.
While they looked for her reciepes they found Pesto was Grandma's but their was a sentence written in Grandpa handwriting that made no sense. Well she would not eat any of it. But kids did not give in they kept trying to interest Grandma in food and kept finding clues Grandpa had left all over the island.

Maggie's friend told her that she might want to hire him to help her with her stalker. Maggie has red hair and everyone was already warning her about Trace liked red hair ladies.
Maggie called Trace's security company when she had another note left on her car. She did not call cops, because when she was 16 she said her boyfriend raped her and a  week later said , she lied. His father was a cop so no one trusted her or wanted to help her.
Then someone broke into her house and Trace had alarms put in plus security cameras on front and back. Then the stalker called and left messages on her answering machine.
Her half sister Ashley that she only saw a few times showed up with a baby asking for help. Ashley and Maggie started to get a long and know each other.  Ashley loves to cook and wants to go to chef school when she ready.
Maggie started seeing Trace apart from just working to find her stalker and she left his house to go home in the middle of the night and found her condo on fire.

Kate is starting her senior year different from last year. Her parents were killed in a car accident that she survied.  Kate woke up in the hospital able to see auras around other people. After she realized everyone was treating her weirdly she faked getting over it.  Kate could tell what the people around her was feeling because of the colors they had around them.
Her best friend Lee was the only person she could tell about what she saw. Aaron was her boyfriend of a year but things are not the same, because she is not the same person.  Her grandparents moved into the house to take care of her and her younger twin sisters. I really like Kate's grandpa.
On the first day of school their is a new guy at school with only an outline of silver no other colors in his aura.  Patrick  and the weird thing he was in everyone of her classes, in fact he even joined eating lunch with her friends at the same table. Also on the way to school she almost ran over a guy who had the same silver aura but Lee could not see him.  Kate was a little scared and confused about what she kept seeing.
It is a very well told story and threw me some surprises I did not expect to come.  I really want to read more about Kate and all her friends.

I have not read the first book of the series and I felt a little lost at first.  Though I enjoyed the story and it does stand alone.
Phyllida Ash is the current guardian of the green hill she protects the fairies from humans and humans from ferries. Shes is in her 80's and Lysander Ash her husband have no children so no heir.
Her nieces and nephews and friends come from America not sure why. Rowan is the oldest male and Meg is oldest female(Only females inherit the guardian of Green Hill) Silly and James who 4 are the Morgans. Their friends are Finn Fachan and Dickie Rhys.
Their is a plot from distant relative to take controll of the guardian and the rookier through magic trickery. He paints things he wants to happen and wills it. He also has a talking goat that has to do what he is commanded to.
James is taken down into the ferry kingdom and it is a test for Meg to rescue but no one can tell her.
Her Aunts test was to rescue her father and did not succeed untill this year. So while she is 80 her father is young man.
Their are humans in the village that are taking advantage of a few of the fae, but the children step into help and Meg has to decide what to do.
Their is pressure for Meg to accept the guardianship but it has to be what she decides. If she doesn't the ferries will eventually be killed off and the humans will be worse too.
Their is a lot going on in the book and it keeps your interested in the story. I know by the story that their will probably be another book at least. I would like to read more. I even would like to go and read the first sometime.

Review: Real Men Will by Victoria Dahl

 3 STARS
Okay this book was uncomfortable for me.  Their was way too much sex everywhere for me. Not only love scenes but Beth managed a risque business  that had clothes, sex toys. Wrote articles about sex . Even had sex talk classes. So much was revolved around sex.
Beth even though she managed the store she was not as free with sex that everybody thought she was.  She taught the classes because owner thought it would be good.  Her co-workers were willing to talk about their experiences with the subjects of the week. Even took writing some of the articles that were on the wild side.
Beth though six months ago had a one night stand that was just supposed to be the one night only.  Though she could not stop thinking of him.
Erik (Jamie) managed a brewery and since the age of 24 raised his brother & sister and managed  a business that he did not want to do.  So when beth thought his name was Jamie he did not correct her, because he wanted to be free like his brother.
Their two business were close by even though they met at a business conference.  Beth found out he used his brothers name and came to his brewery and yelled at him. Jamie was mad at him so was his sister.
Erik and Beth started meeting for sex.  They both were trying to decide what direction their future career path they wanted.  Both had family issues to resolve too.

Review:In Close by Brenda Novak

5 STARS
In Close has a 15 year old mystery that kept me guessing till the end. Once I started I did not stop till I was finshed.
Claire Mother for 15 years has been missing. Its bothered her why no one cares. Her sister last time she got the new sherrif to open the case talked her in to dropping it.
July 4 while everyone was watching fireworks Clair went to the cabin her mom used to paint in. She got in the attic and was going to go through all her mom's boxes and see what she can find now. Before Clair could start she was startled to find all the boxes she put her husbands stuff after he died last year. Someone had moved them there but their was one box that had David's name on that she did not pack. Opened it was things from his youth and figured his mom wanted to keep them all together. In that one box she found a file that had her mom's police file and notes in her husbands hands. She did not know that David was trying to find her the answers without telling her. On the way out of cabin she saw man.s boots as he knocked her back and she screamed.
Isaac had been a boyfriend back in high school and he had bought their house. Heard Clair scream and was running to the cabin when he ran into a branch and injured himself. Isaac had grown up and was still attracted to Clair and offered to help her to find the answers she needed. Was David murdered instead of hunting accident. What were her family hiding all the years. Did they really think her mom had left them 15 years ago. Someone did not want them to find out and was determined to stop them.
I liked it. Mystery had a lot of suspects. lots of action and watched Clair & Isaac romance bloosom again. I was given this ebook in exchange of honest review.
