My Review:Hidden Falls: When Memory Came by Olivia Newport

5 STARS

This is a real good episode. Receive some answers, some good news, more good cliffhangers and good characters that you want to find more out about them, plus a clean read makes for a good story.

It starts with Ethan getting the okay to do surgery on Lauren's brain. It also ends with Ethan and another cliffhanger. I really like Ethan.

Some of the answers are to who is doing some of the crime around town. What set off Quinn's search of records? How is Lauren's health and a few other answers too.

Some of the questions that are brought up in this episode are. Why was Quinn's car stolen? What will Ethan tell Nicole about his job? Who is Quinn with in the picture of him? What will Jack do?

I really like how everyone wants to pray for Lauren before surgery and include Ethan too. Ethan even though he does not believe prayer works.

There is some light humor in this episode too. Especially around Lauren's room.

I am glad that more answers and longer episode was part of episode 11. It is hard to believe that there are only two more episodes to go with this story. I will read them.

I was given this ebook to read and in return promise to give honest review of it.

Fractured Light by Rachel McClellan

I’m dying, I thought. This was unexpected and not at all how I envisioned my death. I was supposed to die gardening in a flowerbed as a hundred-year-old woman, not as a seventeen-year-old trapped in a lake beneath inches of ice.

Llona Reese is used to living on the run. After the Vykens killed her parents, she knew they would eventually come for her too. She can’t take any chances. But when she starts to make friends for the first time in her life, she gets careless and lets her guard down. Big mistake.

As an Aura, Llona can manipulate light and harness its energy. But if she wants to survive, Llona will have to defy the Auran Council and learn to use her power as a weapon against the Vyken whose sole desire is to take her light. Now she’s caught in something even bigger than she can understand, with a power she can’t wield, and no one she can trust, except, just maybe, a mysterious stranger.

In this breathtaking and romantic adventure, Rachel McClellan delivers a truly mesmerizing story that will keep you guessing to the very end.

My Review:Fractured Light by Rachel McClellan

4 STARS

Fractured Light is the first book in the series. I liked it. Last year I had read Fractured Soul the second book in Fractured Light series and like it. I am going to read it again so I am ready for Fractured Truth the last book in the series I believe.

Fractured Light is a young adult book that is centered around Llona Reese. She is a senior in high school. Llona has lived her life on the run hiding from the killer who killed her mom. Llona lives with her Uncle after her dad died. Llona ia a Aura like her mom.
Aura can manipulate light and the Vyken want to kill Auras and take their power.

Most Aura are at a special place to get trained. Llona wants to finish at a regular high school. She is learning a little about her power but not much. When the moon is full Llona has lots more power and is faster and stronger. When the moon is a sliver she can hardly do anything. Llona really likes Christian.

May is a friend of Llona. May has lots of friends but she gets close to none. Where Llona has stayed alone but this year she has decided to be more outgoing.

Christian is a football player sometimes he acts like he really likes Llona and cares about her. He is always watching and being protective of her.

Jake is her Uncle that she lives with. Since her father died he mainly plays video games. He has mourned his brother. He is not much of adult for Llona to rely on. He has no job.

Llona's father has left her plenty of money to live on. When she thinks they need to move for safety they do. She picked the house in UT. This time she does not want to run away she wants to finish high school where she is at. So when scary things happen around her she hides them from everyone.

The setting for this book is Salt Lake City, UT. and Wasatch mountains.

Lots of high school drama on top of super natural powers. Llona is not the only one who is different. I like the characters and I want to see where they go from here.

Synopsis

Buried bones, a missing eco-activist, and a deadly fire? It’s not what Maya Rivers bargained for when she moved to the coastal city of Newport, Oregon to reunite with her brother, Harley. Yet when Harley is accused of an unthinkable crime, Maya insists on adding “amateur sleuth” to her career options. It isn’t long before she discovers an eerie clue . . . but the closer she gets to the truth, the closer a murderer follows.

My Review: Tip of a Bone

4 STARS

Tip of a Bone was a good mystery. The characters were pretty good. I like Maya. She is trying to look positive not there but trying.
Lots of suspects. Of course no one but Maya is looking to solve anything. The cops believe that Maya's brother died because of what he was doing. Maya believes in her brother.

The plot is Maya has moved up to Newport, OR to be by her brother after her marriage fell apart. She is a waitress for now.
Her brother has joined a eco-activist group. She tries to talk him into quitting. She fails and he dies. She does not believe that he was not alone that night and did not start the fire. She is going to figure out what really happened to him.

The setting for the book is Newport, OR. It is pretty up their.

Their is plenty of drama, action, danger and some romance. Their is some violence and two sexual scenes.

To me the weakness of the story is there is no scenes to lighten or any that build a sense of community outside of the plot of the story. No hobbies or friends besides co-workers and Maya's brother Harley's girlfriend Alison.

I was given this ebook to read and in exchange agreed to give honest review and be part of it's blog tour.

My Review: Blossom Street Brides by Debbie Macomber (Blossom Street #10)

4 STARS

This is a good mix of three different couples dealing with life and finding love. Lots of drama, characters that I liked and enjoyed finding how it all would work out.

The setting for this was Blossom Street, Seattle, WA.

Lauren Elliott has been waiting three years for her boyfriend Todd to propose. A year ago he said he wanted to get married but he wanted to get more set in his job and get some debts paid off. Lauren decided to call it quits. He really did not want to marry her.
She made a list of what she really wanted in a husband.

Bethanne Scraton and Max have been married a year. Max lives in CA he has his own business their. Bethanne has her own business in Seattle plus her two children live there. It is hard to only see each other on weekends. Bethanne's daughter Annie and her ex-husband Grant want to breakup the couple.

Lydia Goetz and her family are wonderful family. They are dealing with her adopted daughter Casey's nightmares. Lydia's mom is going down hill fast. She forgets who Lydia is sometimes, but so far remembers Casey.

Lydia owns a yarn shop and business has been slow. Then someone is going around town leaving baskets with yarn and needles. The notes say they are for making scarfs for the homeless asking people to knit while they wait. When the scarf is finished would they drop it off at Lydia's shop. The yarn was bought from Lydia's shop. Lydia does not have a clue who is doing this.

The baskets of yarn sound like a fun thing to do. Except I don't knit. It is exciting to hear the reactions of different people finding the baskets and working on the scarfs.

I read as late as I could stay awake and finished the book first thing this morning. I cared for the characters. Okay I did not like Grant. Rooster I liked even though at first I judged him a little as a biker. Their are other characters and problems that we see in the book that draw you into their lives. I don't know if they are characters from previous books or not.

This is a clean read that is entertaining and made me think about what I can do to help someone.

I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley.

The Saratov Approach DVD Review & Givaway DVD

About the movie:

On what seemed like any other day, Elders Travis Tuttle (Corbin Allred) and Andrew Propst (Maclain Nelson) are approached by Nikolai (Nikita Bogolyubov) to teach a friend. But then the missionaries experience the unimaginable—they are kidnapped, beaten, and held for ransom. While their families, friends, and the world pray for their safe return, Tuttle and Propst are tested physically, emotionally, and most of all—spiritually.

My Review: The Saratov Approach DVD

5 STARS

I did not know this story till I heard a little about it when in theaters last year. I waited to see it when my daughter was home. Watching it with my daughter was special. I recommend seeing it with tissues close by.

This is a moving story about two LDS Missionaries serving in Russia who were kidnapped and held for ransom.

The missionaries were targeted because they are from the US. They belong to a big church. I can understand why you can not pay kidnappers because more missionaries or other church leaders would than be kidnapped. I can also understand how tempting for the families to pay it.

I want to make comments about different scenes in the movie but I would be giving away too much of the story.

The faith in God the missionaries and their family showed was touching and uplifting.
How people of faith all come together to pray for them brought tears to my eyes.

This is a movie that I would watch again and again if I can get the DVD back from my girls.

My daughter and a bunch of her friends from her singles ward watched it and enjoyed it too. Yes tissues were used again.

I bought my DVD and I was also given a copy so it was suggested that I give my DVD away.

My Review: Imperfect Love by Rebecca Talley.

4 STARS

Imperfect love is a good clean drama dealing with real problems. It is easy to say I would make this choice when we are not in that situation. It draws out emotions. I wish that the ending could be different but I think it was right one.

Lauren Wilson is a strong character. She is facing some tough choices and chooses what she feels is right for her.
Lauren has been hoping to have a baby for a long time and now it looks like her dream is coming true. Lauren teaches middle school.

Paul is Lauren's husband. He works for his dad in his law firm. Paul is almost never home. He works long hours. He does not want to have this child and wants Lauren to choose to have abortion.

I want things to work out for Lauren. I like her. She knows that having a baby and being a single mother will be hard but she already loves her baby.

Lauren's mother tells her that she will retire and help Lauren with the baby. She wants Lauren to move in with her.

One thing that I was concerned about was how fast everyone was about Lauren finding someone else to date and be with it. I think that was rushing her into making decisions before she was ready.

I did not want to put this book down till I had finished reading it. It was a fast read.

The setting was Colorado modern times.

It is a good story that draws you into their drama and does not let you go. It also had some good humor too.

I was given this ebook to read and asked in return to give honest review of it.

Fortune Cafe

The Fortune Café

a novel in three parts

MIS-FORTUNE: Emma, a waitress at The Fortune Café will do anything to avoid opening a fortune cookie. Each fortune is rumored to somehow magically come true. Being a girl grounded in reality, she doesn’t have time for that kind of nonsense. But when trying to prevent a food fight at the café, Emma accidently cracks open a fortune cookie: “Look around, love is trying to catch you.” If there is one thing that Harrison, her former best friend in high school is good at, it’s catching her unaware.

LOVE, NOT LUCK: Lucy has always been lucky . . . until her parents meet her fiancé’s parents at a disastrous lunch at The Fortune Café, and she breaks her lucky jade necklace. Even worse, her fortune cookie reveals that “True love is for the brave, not the lucky.” How is she supposed to read that? She’s always considered it lucky how she met her fiancé. But after breaking her necklace, Lucy’s luck takes a dive. And when her fiancé dumps her, the only person she can turn to is Carter, the unluckiest guy she knows.

TAKEOUT: Stella is content in her new life of taking over her mom’s jewelry shop. No more boyfriend to worry about, and as long as she stays busy, she doesn’t have to dwell on her non-existent love life. When Evan comes into the shop with his young daughter, Stella is charmed. But she is reluctant to complicate her straightforward life, so when she reads her fortune after ordering takeout from The Fortune Café, she completely ignores it. After all, how can a fortune as vague as “Do the thing you fear and love is certain,” apply to her?

My Review:Load the Boat by Rosalee Richland

4 STARS

I enjoyed Load the Boat. It had mystery, drama, romance, lots of square dancing, interesting characters and clean story.

The plot Darla King is working a cruise for a week. She is working with two other callers. Her Clearton friends decided it sounds fun and joins her for a cruise and lots of square dancing.
Right off the bat they start with drama before they even get onto the boat. Mysteries are happening around Darla.

Darla King now calls for square dancing for a living. She was a lawyer. She is a widow with one daughter in college. She has gone out a little with Doug and hopes they can get closer on the cruise.

Doug is a rancher. He is part of the Clearton gang. He hopes to get closer to Darla on the cruise.
He seems interested in Mandy and dances with her a lot.

Carlotta is Darla good friend and is part of the Clearton Square dance gang. She is dating Nick.

Nick was the center of Right and Left Grand Mystery. He was saved by Doug. He is dating Carlotta now.

Sam is a widow and a part of Clearton Gang. Darla used to call them three musketeers but now the central of the friends who dance in Clearton and hangout together is called the Clearton gang.

Paul the FBI Agent we first met in Right and Left Grand has been sent to the cruise after some of the crimes found on the cruise. He is interested in Darla.

Mandy meets Darla while waiting to board. She is on the cruise by herself. She was on a cruise years ago with her parents and some thing happened. She lost both of her parents this year. She is not having good luck on her cruise.

Makes me want to go square dancing. It seems like they have a lot of fun and make good friends. It is heavy on square dancing information and dances. Which I did not mind but some might.

I like the characters, but her friends did seem to take smaller role in this book. That could because there are a lot more characters. Plus the mystery was not around the Clearton gang.

I would read another book about Darla King by Rosalee Richland in the future.

I was given this ebook to read for the purpose of giving a honest review by author.

Brides of Amish Country: Finding true love in the land of the Plain People

My Review: The Shepherd's Bride by Patricia Davids

4 STARS

I really liked the character Lizzie. She risked so much for her sisters. To keep them safe and happy. She was a hard worker. Has
faith in what she believes in. Willing to give up her only possession of her mother's. To take the chance she had for her sister's freedom.

Carl King is to be admired. He failed to live up to his beliefs once and paid a high price. In the process he saved a young girl's life. Personally either way he went could have been the right choice. I liked the choice he made. Carl has been shunned from the Amish faith. He still believes and mostly keeps to their ways.

The setting takes place on a Amish sheep farm. It made the sheep seem so real to me. Makes me want to go and watch the fields of the lambs playing. Maybe I will in a couple of months.

I liked the Amish community that welcomed Lizzie and were willing to offer jobs to her sisters before they met them to help.

This is a clean read. It is not afraid to mention prayer, beliefs and forgiveness.

I want to know what happens next to Lizzie's three sisters. I look forward to reading more books by Patricia Davids.

My Review: Last Chance Knit & Stitch (Last Chance #6) by Hope Ramsay

4 STARS

For most of the book it seemed real familiar story to me. I checked and it showed pretty new dates on the web. Then I looked at copyright date and realized I probably read it decades ago. It holds up pretty well.

I like Last Chance. I have read one other book recently and a few members are the same. The scenes descriptions make you want to go down by the river and fish or swim. Last is a small town in the south that is struggling to survive. A place I would love to visit or live in.

Molly does car repairs and on the side of that she is restoring an old Shelby. She wants to do that full time restore cars. She is the only girl in her family and her parents want her to be more girly.

Simon Wolfe returns to Last Chance to bury his father and than leave right away. He finds that his mom does not recognize him, his father's business was losing money. It will be a while before he can leave town. Simon decisions effect a lot of people. One person that is being effected in many ways is Molly.

Molly's mom has runaway from home and wants Molly to handle her business and the house. Her car that she is restoring is locked up and her ownership is being challenged. She looses her job and the building she wants to rent to start her business.

The story is one with many characters and storylines that make you want to see what happens to them next. There is lots of drama, good characters, beautiful scenery even a ghost that I want to know about more.

I already have one more book by Hope Ramsay on my kindle to start reading next to see what is going on with the characters.

I was given this ebook to read and in return asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley.

My Review: Murder A La Christie by Marilyn Levinson

4 STARS

This Murder Mystery is different in the types of mysteries I have been reading lately. It is a deeper read. Most of the suspects I did not like.

The setting for the book is a book club in a ritzy old neighborhood. They are studying Agatha Christie novels. The leader of the book club is Professor Lexie Driscoll.

The tear down of Agatha Christie books was interesting. Made me want to go back and read some more of her books. Since Lexie teaches at a University the book club was at a higher level. I liked the book club meeting the most.

Starting at the first meeting one of the members died. Lexie thinks it might be murder. No one else believes that. Then their is more murders with each meeting.

Lexie is one of suspects so she decides to use Agatha's novels to help her figure out who the guilty party is and why, before she is accused of the murder.

I really did not feel much except disgust at some of the characters. I like Lexie and she starts liking two different guys she is meeting.

Everything in the book was their for the main plot. No lighter side really and we only learn about why someone might be suspects
or not. Lots of drama, characters, lot of talk of mystery writers and their works, plus it is a clean read.

If Lexie did more book clubs where the members did not die I would have loved being a member of it.

I was given this ebook to read for purpose of reviewing it and being part of its blog tour.

My Review: More Than She Expected

3 STARS
.
This is a nice story. I like the characters. I would like to read more of the Jersey boys! The plot was good.
Their was one love scene that I skipped over.

The plot Laurel Kent has moved in next door to Tyler Noble. When Tyler's dog escaped his back yard into Laurel's. He realizes that his dog is going under the fence. So they decide to put a brick fence up.

When Tyler realizes she is pregnant and the dad wants no part of the baby. He helps Laurel and brings his own issues of his past up.

I really like the secondary characters in this book. How the Noble family steps into help Laurel too. Laurel really only has her grandmother in her life. Who stepped in and raised her after her mother died.

I also liked how people stepped into help Laurel and how hard it was for her to accept the help.

This story makes you think a lot about what family is. Weather you are adopted, or abandoned by your parents.
I really like how the different people related to each other.

I will read more books from Karen Templeton in the future.

My Review:Serpent Tide (Serpent Tide #1) by by K.L. Fogg

5 STARS

I love this series. It is an adventure that is full of interesting characters. Every time things
seem to be calm something else happens again.

Wesley is son of Imogene Vandergrift a billionaire. He is not allowed to anything that is dangerous, have any pets, do shores. His best friend is Amanda. Wesley is really smart. He is a teenager. His favorite show is Snake stalker.

Amanda is a few months older than Wesley. Her mother Maria has worked Imogene almost her full life. Amanda is a tomboy. She goes to public school. Whenever Imogene is not around her and Wesley get into a lot of troubles.

Imogene Vandergrift is a rich self centered woman. She has been a widow for years. She will do anything she wants nothing will get in her way.

Wesley puts some things together and figured out that he was not really Imogene's son. That he has a father, aunt & grandparents. The adventures begin and trouble starts.

The pacing is a fast pace one adventure after another adventure.

Serpent Tide is first book of three that tells the story of Wesley Mackey.

Blog Tour: Luminescence by Braden Bell (Book 3 of Middle School Magic series)

Determined to rescue their favorite teacher, Conner, Lexa, and Melanie confront their worst fears and use their powers in unexpected ways to defeat Lady Nightwing, the treacherous Darkhand leader. But when the trio makes a terrible choice to save Dr. Timberi, their powers may not be enough to keep everyone alive. A thrilling conclusion to the Middle School Magic series!

Meet the Author:

During his middle school years, Braden Bell was the least-stable, lowest-achieving student in the history of the world. He shocked every former teacher by graduating from high school and college, and then going on to earn both a Master’s degree as well as a Ph.D. A teacher by day and a parent by night, he is around teenagers 24/7. He teaches music and directs plays at a private school, much like Marion Academy in The Middle School Magic series. Whether he fights evil after hours is something he cannot disclose.

Braden Bell holds degrees in theatre from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. from NYU. A committed educator, he has been directing plays and teaching school now for over twenty years. Braden lives with his family on a quiet, tree-lined lot outside of Nashville, TN, where he teaches theatre and choir at a middle school. The author of The Road Show, The Kindling, and Penumbras.

My Review: Luminescence by Braden Bell

5 STARS

I have loved this series. This conclusion to the series does not let you down. It is full of action, adventure, sacrifice. You don't want to put the book down.

I had reread Penumbras was only going to skim it and next thing I was reading the book again. Then started Luminescence right after.
Good way to spend a rainy day. Being immersed in Middle School Magic series.

The characters have grown up a little more with each book. Especially Lexa. The main characters are Conner & his twin Lexa. Lexa's best friend Melanie and Conner's friend Pilaf. All of them came into power at the same time, Which is very unlikely to have happened.
They learn why, and how come in this book. Plus some twists I did not see coming.
Their are a lot of adults that are trying to keep the teens safe. Also trying to teach them how to keep themselves safe at the same time.

The plot is a complicated one, but a believable one in a fantasy book. Their are two sides of power one uses dark forces and are called Darkhand. Lady Nightwing is their leader. The other side are Magis. They use light as source of power.
The teens want to rescue their music teacher from Lady Nightwing. They won't rest till they help him. A lot of Magi don't believe he is still alive even though Lexa can sometimes reach him.

The setting is today world. Only those who have kindled can see the ones with powers. It is a world with magic. Lexa is a seer and works with emotions. Conner is speed and strength. While Melanie's power is mind and she can make anyone around her stronger.

Luminescence is better if you read all three books together in the right order. But you could read alone.
This is a fast paced story. It grabs your attention and keeps it. I am sorry to see these characters go.

I was given this ebook to read and in exchange promised to give honest review and be part of its blog tour.

Hidden Falls: A Fair Refuge - Episode 9 by Olivia Newport

Description

Quinn’s friends need to powwow. One week without Quinn in Hidden Falls, and nothing seems quite right. He’d be proud of the way the townspeople followed through on his plans for the health fair. My Review: Hidden Falls: A Fair Refuge - Episode 9 by Olivia Newport

5 STARS

This episode of A Fair Refuge has the best or worst cliffhanger so far. Worst because I really really want to know what happens next. Best because you will want to come back to see what happens next. Lots of cliffhangers and one major one.

Lots of drama, good information pooled, likeable characters, well written episode. Clean read and good community helping each other.

The health fair is finally here and it is coming along. Everybody is pretty much all their that we have met so far. Lots of excitement so far. It is a health fair I would go to.

I really enjoyed the meeting with everyone and what they had to say about different things they had found out. They were very honest and shared the blame for what they each did. Cooper could have arrested most of them. He is the only major character that we did not here from. I have to wonder if he had found any information at all.

I am getting to like Jack's character more. I liked seeing him with his youngest daughter at the fair.

Sylvia has opened the box finally! Her mother's memory might have some clues.

Lauren has done a good job with the health fair.

Cooper's character we really have not seen much of at all. I would like to see more of him with answers or at least questions.

Nicole is worried about her job but still is searching for answers.

Ethan is working as a stand in for a Doctor who backed out of health fair. He found someone that he thinks needs to see a doctor to follow up on.

Dani and Eva are giving a cooking demonstration.

I know that I want to keep reading this addictive novel. I want longer episodes with more information and deeper relationships. This is a good series that keeps you coming back for more and more answers each week.

I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley.

My Review: Big Money by Jack Getze

4 STARS

Big money is the second Austin Carr mystery. It is full of humor, mob, interesting characters. There is a lot of violence, swearing.

Austin Carr is a human character with lots of faults , loves his kids, gambling and woman. He works for a stockbroker. He thinks it is more like sales.

Austin Carr's boss is leaving him in control of his company while he takes a long vacation out of the country. Austin has more things going right since he was homeless in Big Numbers. Now he owns a small part of the company.

Right after his boss leaves the country things go down hill fast. Austin is also supposed to help his boss's mother and daughter if they need anything.
His company Shore Securities is being audited. The news is not good but before he can find out why the auditor is murdered.
Now someone wants him to money-laundering and threatens his daughter.

There are a lot of characters that are shady. You are not sure who to like and root for. No real clue about who to trust.
It keeps you guessing about what is going to happen next.

I really liked the ending of this story it brought a big smile on my face.

Big Money is a fun bumbling read that you can enjoy and smile at all the messes Austin gets into.

I was given this book and asked in return to give honest review of it.

Praise for The Knife's Edge

"A truly engaging story!" - Tracy Hickman, New York Times Bestselling Author and creator of the Dragonlance Series

"Amazing, I am so happy when I find books that keep me up all night. This is a tome of light, among darkness. Never a boring page, action packed and loved the story. Can't wait for the second book. And I want to know more about all the characters." - Tor-Ole Halverson

"This book has everything any epic fantasy lover is looking for in a book, mesmerizing characters, fantastical creatures, sword fights, magic, mystery and even comedy. For some the beginning of the book might seem to be slow, but the further you read, it gets better on each page. Matthew Wolf does an excellent job describing every scene, every character, every feeling and the consequences the character take to submerge you into this wonderful world he has created. I just can't wait for book 2 to continue with this epic saga that I just fell in love with!" - Dominique

My Review: Knife's Edge by Matthew Wolf

3 1/2 Stars

I liked the first part of the story and really enjoyed the last half. The first part was a lot of information, and introducing new characters. I admit I got a little mixed up on the character names.
After the story was done I discovered a Glossary. Lots of names & descriptions. So if you like me get confused you know where to go.

This is a epic story. Has lots going for it. Magic, prophecy, light against dark, epic battles, dragons, heroes, legends coming to life, elves, secret tunnels. There is a lot of drama, action, suspense of knowing who to trust. A good story a little slow in beginning as the world is built.

I had to read this over two days. The second day's reading was far better than the first. Which just could have been me over the story.

Kirin is the boy who the book is centered around. But his name changes later to Gray. He has a sword that everyone wants to control. No one can weld it but him. It has a darkness around it sometimes a light. Gray has to control it and choose what side he is on.

Their world is under attack from an ancient enemy. That wants to destroy everything and kill everyone.
Their appear an ancient protectors the Ronin. A lot of their history is lost. Some believe that they turned against man. The Ronin do not want the sword to fall in the wrong hands. They want to protect Gray.

Gray and friends flee against the army destroying different cities. There group gets bigger and bigger as they flee trying to find safety.

I can't wait to see what the next part of the saga is.

Come Home to Me by Brenda Novak (Whiskey Creek #6)

Description

www.BrendaNovak.com

Home is where her heart is

When Presley Christensen returns to Whiskey Creek with her little boy after two years away, she has completely changed her life. She's made peace with her past and overcome the negative behavior that resulted from her difficult childhood. Now she's back in the small town that was the closest thing to "home" she ever knew—the town where she can be with the sister who's her only family.

There's just one catch. Aaron Amos still lives in Whiskey Creek, at least until he moves to Reno to open a branch of the Amos brothers' auto body shop. And no matter how hard she's tried, Presley hasn't been able to get over him. Seeing him again makes the longing so much worse. But she hopes she can get through the next few months, because she can't fall back into his arms…or his bed. She's come too far to backslide now. And there's a secret she's been guarding—a secret she'll do anything to protect.

My Review:Come Home to Me by Brenda Novak (Whiskey Creek #6)

4 STARS

Come home to me had mostly familiar characters that we have seen before if you have read other books in the Whiskey Creek series.
It is full of dramas, tough subjects, relationships between lots of characters. I like the characters. Especially like that Presley and Aaron have grown up and stayed clean. Their is a lot of love scenes that I did skip over.

Presley Christensen has come back to Whiskey Creek with her son. Presley has lied to everyone about who the father is except her sister. Presley has turned her life around. She is opening a business.

Aaron Amos is getting ready to move away and open his own business three hours away. He is at a book signing and can't believe that Presley is back in Whiskey Creek. He has missed her and tries to talk to her. He does not suspect that he is a father.
Riley also sees that Presley has changed and a single parent too. He wants to help her and date her and see if they could have a future.

Come Home to me had a lot of secrets between different people and some of them were big secrets to hide from your spouses. Made me think what would I do. I think the secrets will come out at the worst times.

Presley when she lived in Whiskey Creek before was into drugs and heavy drinking. She chased Aaron a lot. She has had a hard life and never knew who her dad was. Presley does not have a lot of self confidence. She is a good mother. She is opening a yoga and massage center.

She is glad to be back living by Cheyenne her sister. Wyatt is her little boy.

Cheyenne is married to Dylan. They want to have children but are not having any luck. She has been the responsible person in her family. She is two years younger than Presley.

Dylan Amos is the oldest of five brothers. When he was 18 his father killed a man and went to prison. He got the failing business and house in his name and raised his brothers.

Aaron Amos is second oldest son. He is only three years younger than Dylan. He used to party hard and do drugs too. He went into rehab to get clean around the same time Presley did. He does not want to settle down. He used to party with Presley and do drugs and sleep with her.

Riley is a single father. He has been Cheyenne good friend since high school. He has raised his son by himself. He has his own business doing construction. He is interested in dating Presley now that she is back and clean.

I like how we know most of these characters and know a lot about them from previous books. I want to see how things workout in the future with this series.

I was given this ebook to read and in return agreed to give honest review of it by Netgalley and Harlequin.
